And you still have what to show for it....exactly NOTHING? One and done! It doesn't matter how much you spend its the overall results you get out of that dollar. And JJ has got NO MORE return for your so called 'cheap' TRASH purchases (And if I'm not mistaken JJ overpaid for quite a few of your girls this off-season, check your facts its the TRASH he got cheap because nobody else wanted it!) than Dan has on some of the high priced free agents moves in the past.

At the end of the day your girls will continue picking up TRASH 'cheap', ya get what you pay for. And those girls will continue to go nowhere, as usual!

We haven't made one single splash or big purchase this off-season, just worked the draft and signed our veteran backups all solid moves. It appears we are learning how to build a team the right way under Dan's ownership and with Vinny at VP, buy not overpaying for players. That will pay dividends for the Redskins having solid talent, a great locker room and character players.

Something your girls will NEVER have under that retard JJ!

1) That's pretty arbitrary.

2) Once you go back 20 years, you find players on the Redskins who WERE probably better receivers than Terrell Owens in his 30s. One of those guys was Art Monk, who is now in the hall. Then you have Gary Clark, who arguably could have beaten Monk to the Hall. Both in their prime, clearly better than Owens on the Cowboys.

But at least you have him under contract through 2011, so have fun throwing passes to him when he can no longer separate from NFL DBs I guess.

I think its safe to say you don't know jack about football! I'll give you three names Gary Clark, Art Monk and Ricky Sanders all WR and SB winners for the Redskins in the 80's and 90's. TO couldn't carry there jock, that cry baby piece of shit that pissed his pants anytime he had to go up against Sean Taylor. He knew he was going to get his ass knocked out or handed to him thats why he was so scared!

As far as your SB stats, after our last SB winning appearance in Jan of 1992. The girls last winning appearance was in Jan 1996. What have you done since Barry S (Which by the way was a freebie Jimmy J did all the work and Barry got shit canned after going 6-10 remember...) left that sorry ass team..? Thats correct NOTHING.

So don't think for a second those girls are ANY better than the SKINS by any stretch of your imagination the record speaks for itself.

You guys haven't won a playoff game in 12 years. Aikman, Irvin, and Emmitt were your stars the last time you sniffed anything resembling playoff success.

Wade Phillips is a pawn and your team is a circus. Win a playoff game this decade and then talk.

He hasn't been much yet, and he's missed some time due to injury. He's not a locker room guy, and this past month hasn't been good off the field, but he was the 4th overall pick just three years ago, and spent his first two seasons as Thomas Jones' backup. And in '07 when he was the starter, the Bears had some gaping holes on the Oline. Not to mention he's never had a decent QB in the pros. Soooo, someone will take a chance on him, and at 25 with not a lot of miles he has plenty of time to find success.

If he is released, I could see the Bucs, Broncos, Texans, and maybe even division rivals Packers or Lions taking a shot on him.

I would have to say T.O. is probably better than Monk and Clark. And that's not a slap in the face to either. T.O. has well over 100 TD's. That's pretty select company.

I would have to say your wrong. Both Monk and Clark knew how to play the TEAM sport of football as well as any WR that ever played this game. And although they didn't have 100 TD's so what? They both had 60+ TD's and multiple SuperBowl Rings to go with the class and dignity on and off the field that only select few ever had. TO NOT INCLUDED IN THAT COMPANY! And how many SB rings has TO earned......NONE!

Vet min?

lolol sorry I wanted to. I think we're pretty set at running back, probably moreso than any other position on the team.

As for the whole T.O. argument, give the guy his due. You can say what you want about what a loudmouth he is, but the guy has been consistently good wherever he goes. There's no way I'd say Clark, Monk, and Sanders are all better than him. Class is a different story, but in today's NFL T.O. isn't the only primadonna receiver.

Not only that, Monk and Clark played primarily in a "running first offense" not the "pass happy offense" that T.O. has played in SF & Philly WC offenses, Cowboys are a Redskins old type hybrid offense. Can you imagine what stats Clark and Monk would of had if they had a Joe Montana for QB in a WC offense? Give me Monk or Clark over any other any WR in the NFL, including Jerry "the whiner" Rice.

Yeah, when you got Joe Montana and Steve Young for QB's, play on a passing offense in the weakest division in the NFL (Falcons, Saints, Rams) and face them twice a year you would also have awesome stats. I've been in SF since 1982, have watched JR since he started his career with SF to his retirement and the guy was a Prima Donna. He whined about not getting the ball, racism for not getting MVP one year Montana got it (so they gave it to him the next year) getting caught in a massage parlor and claiming it was a joke his teammates pulled on him, etc. The guy wishes he had the class Art Monk exhibited. He was a great player but so was Monk with some crappy QB's throwing to him with the exception of Joey T. Homerism? Sure, I just call it like it is.

Monk = better class. Rice = the best wr of all time.

GTripp0012 06-11-2008 11:52 PM

re: Cedric Benson arrested (and now released)
Monk = better class. Rice = the best wr of all time.
I am of the opinion that Jerry Rice is the greatest WR of all time who is not currently active. I realize I share that opinion with pretty much everyone else.

I really think that there should be more controversy regarding the greatest WR ever. I mean, Rice's numbers are unmatched, but he played in San Francisco with two of the three (IMO) greatest QBs ever, and then got to play with Jeff Garcia for a season, before moving on to Oakland and playing with the guy who, during the two year span he was there, was the best QB in the game (Gannon). So Rice's numbers, as unobtainable as they are, have to be taken in context of playing with the great passers throughout a 20 year career.

I think Marvin Harrison might have been a more dangerous weapon in his time, and certainly Randy Moss' 3 top seasons were as good if not better than Rice's best three. Moss is totally inconsistent from one year to the next, and not really worthy of a greatest ever discussion, but I think his career shows my point well that Rice, perhaps the greatest WR ever, is probably overrated when people say he's the greatest of all time bar none, because it's not looking at his career in context.

Everyone who makes personnel decisions is going to have a dud every now and then. It's part of the business.
From a personnel standpoint, Benson was far from a Bust.

In 2006, he was worth more value per play than Thomas Jones. That allowed the Bears to deal TJ, who has yet to have a season in NY as good as his weakest in his 3 yrs in Chicago.

I think everyone would have struggled behind the Bears OL in 2007. Benson was exceptionally bad, and I'm not excusing his level of poorness just in the same way I don't excuse Portis' level of poorness last year. Of course, if you asked anyone, Bears fans even, who is better: Portis or Benson -- the answer would be Portis 10 out of 10 times. Though both struggled in 2007 after a similar amount of carries in 2006 and a similar level of success.

The point here is this: Benson is not a Bear anymore for purely character reasons, and even though his most recent season sucked, it's safe to say he would have rebounded. Cedric Benson is not a particularly intelligent person, and that may have led to multiple arrests in the same city within a month of each other.

That's certainly not a black mark on Morrocco Brown, especially considering that Jerry Angelo is a horrible evaluator of offensive skill.

Benson isn't a bust yet, just a dud. Though I don't see him ever becoming a top back in this league.

I still don't agree with your take on Portis having poor production last year. He and Benson don't even belong in the same discussion.

I'm reading it as Portis struggled a bit on 07 (his ypc were lower than normal, but 1600+ total yds and 11tds is damn good), and he and Benson had similar numbers in 06- similar # of carries, yards, and both had a 4.1ypc avg).
