SmootSmack, I'm not saying anything out of line. I'm sure I'm not the only one that was over joyful to see Tommy go down yesterday. That is what they get for last season, blowing people out and making a joke of a HOF coach in Joe Gibbs. And about the fans...SmootSmack I don't know if you have season tickets to the skins, but I do. They have been in my family for over 50 years, and the trash I see up there makes me sick. They boo Gibbs, they boo JC, and they boo Zorn. The last thing anyone would need when they are down is a good booing! I know there are "real" skins fans out there that know and understand football. Washington has one of the smartest fans in the world, and we have one hell of a HOF coach to thank for some of that. I learned a lot from coach Gibbs, and the number one thing I learned was to ride out the storm. Don't jump the gun, and good things will happen. So yea maybe I do get a little aggresive, I just love my team more than anything else and hate when people that know little bash them. We as skins fans are better than that, and I hope that they cheer their faces off sunday just like me.

As has been said, we need a big time of possession advantage in this one. The Saints are a big play team, 3 TD over 40 yards yesterday I believe, so we've got to limit their chances to make the big strike..

With Bush, it's going to be imperative for our LB and safeties to take proper tackling angles. Doughty and McIntosh can't overshoot because Bush will be long gone if they do..

I'm glad it's on grass and not turf also.. Let's hope for a nasty weather system to get parked right over the stadium for about 3 hours on Sunday!

Im sorry, but until our rookie WRs come into their own...we will have to rely on what seems to be the old Gibbs run style for CP. It is kinda sad, bc Zorn wants to put in his westcoast off. but cant because we really dont have the WR core to do so. That means lots and lots of CP. Sadly the westcoast uses the pass to set up the run, but the skins seem to be doing it the other way around. They need to get CP to the outside and get large chunks of yards. Then rely on play action. Then and hopefuly once the Def. backs off some, Zorn can set out to do what he wants to.

I'm worried about the Saints' front 7. Sed Ellis is going to have an immediate impact on the line for them and I'm wondering how our protection will hold up.

On D, we'll definitely have our hands full. As everyone has stated, if we don't pressure up front, Brees will have a field day. They've got speed on the outside of Colston (Henderson) and we've always been susceptible to Shockey. Contain Bush!!!

I don't think Bush will be the problem. The real problem comes from our end, in the form of Shawn Springs. He needs to suck it up and play some football, because CR isn't back to full playing speed yet.

Our players are catching a lot of crap right now from the same fans who were so proud of them for making the playoffs during the same year we tragically lost Sean Taylor. These are the same players, but learning a completely different offense. The problem last week was EXECUTION. ANY play that is not executed properly WILL NOT WORK. I believe Sherman Smith and Jim Zorn will have a good game plan for the Saints. I believe the players would rather win than lose and will play hard. If we execute the plays we will win. Execution comes with repetition. REAL GAME repetition. We can beat the saints and if we execute we will. Kelly can make a big difference to this offense and eventually he will. It will take the offense a while to get things down pat, but once they do.. WATCH THE F**K OUT. I fully expect us to play better than last week ( Jason will be in the shot gun more often ) and to continually progress as we become more and more comfortable in this new offense.

From what Zorn said, at least 2 of our false start penalties came on plays that were called specifically for Cooley. We definitely need him to have a nice game. The Saints have a good front 4, but aren't particularly strong at LB or in the secondary. I know, I know, they have Vilma, but he's coming off a knee injury, and Jason David and Mike McKenzie don't really scare me at corner.

I just heard Sherman Smith say they will put Campbell in the shotgun more often as he has requested and if he does'nt play well we'll see what his excuse is then. Damn. That should take care of that.

His numbers have historically been better when in the gun so it's a good move. At the least it should help him get comfortable.

That's really the key word. IMO he is SO worried about making mistakes that he's waaay to hesitant. He needs to go out there and throw the dang ball a little. I'd rather see 275 yds, 2TDs, and 1 pick than 160 yds, 1td, no picks. If he can see the field a split second more quickly out of the shotgun, then use that formation a little more. He needs to whip it around a bit to build a little confidence and comfort.

McNabb threw either behind his receivers or at their feet for years before he got it right. But he still threw.

The saints are Very dangerous this year, I just want to let ya'll know they are for real. There are still some holes in their secoundary and I hope Zorny can draw up a good game plan. I am also concerned about situational playcalls and hope that Zorn learned a lesson last week, not that it's all on him, the o line and Campbell as well.

KWilly I'm sure you are new to this site just as I am, so maybe you did'nt realize that Matty is the administrator of this site and ( I think) has the power to take you out of here. Hopefully he'll take that into consideration and give you a break. There was nothing wrong with the way he asked you to tone it down. sorry but you must not tune in for a lot of saints games. the saints offense is built around alot of short quick passes and 3-5 yard runs. the saints have alot of drives where they keep hitting, and hitting, and hitting, then they hit you with the knockout punch on a 30+ yard touchdown.

the saints offense struggled at times in the first half, but they made adjustments and got shockey involved in the second half. they looked like the saints offense that i'm used too seeing. i'd expect too see alot more of the saints moving the ball this weekend. no disrepect too your team, but yall don't have the d tampa has.

the saints d got alot of good pressure on garcia all day. they only brought him down twice but they were in his face all day and forced him too use his legs too make plays. garcia completed around 58% of his passes. and he threw the ball 41 times, so the saints d were able to force him too throw the ball. the saints corners were glued onto the bucs recievers alot throughout the day and the bucs recievers made a couple plays. but the most important thing, and the thing im most proud of is that the saints defense were able to make plays when needed. the bucs o was 0-9 on 3rd down conversion going into the 4th quarter. they finished 2-12. and as for the running game the numbers were not reflected on the way the saints stopped the run. they played good but gave up two plays, one being a 46 yarder. as i said earlier in this thread, that's what scares me. they will hold the opposing rusher too a 3 yard average the entire game but will then give up a huge 30+ yard carry.

the saints bit themselves alot in this game. 6 penaltys in the first half. a olinemen missed his block on that interception play and if that would not have happended that play could have been a potential touchdown because there was nothing but green in front of moore. i would put my money on the saints getting something from that drive. nobody knows what would have actually happened, but that would have made it a 31-13 saints win, if my maths right lol.

and one of the things i'm most excited about is that deuce or aaron stecker never saw the field, our two top recievers only caught 4 passes, shockey didn't really get involved until the 3rd or 4th quarter. and the saints leader in the secondary, mike mckenzie, didn't dress. nor did the other starting corner usama young.

Is this the time of year when we get the most new members? It always seems like we regress in Aug/ Sept then they either go away or are banned. Not to say we don't get new good memebers.

Such a painful cycle.

My favorite new threads are the ones that are titled as though we lost someone for the season but when yo uread the body of the message it ends up to be nothing. Those threads are great!

It's gonna come down to out offensive line, Which I believe is better than tampa bays. If we can run we will win, And thats all there is to it. Thank god Springs is back but is anyone else tired of him always being hurt, I mean get him some vagisil this is the NFL!

I will say the same thing i said last week....get portis involved early and often. As much I like throwing the ball all over the field i believe the strength of our team at this point is portis and betts. the passing game will come along but thats not what we do best yet. If we can establish a run, get springs in the game, and bring the pain from the ends....AC and Jt...i like our chances.
