Here's one that I like. We have started eating a food that represents the opposing teams home city or region. Started by accident with New Orleans, then kept it going. I actually don't think it has anything to do with the team's performance but it is a good way to eat some different meals each Sunday.

New Orleans: Jumbalaya (W)
Arizona: Fajitas (W)
Dallas: Grilled New York Strips (don't care for Texas BBQ and cows, cowboys, pretty close) (W)
Philadelphia: Cheesesteaks (W)

On deck, St. Louis: Toasted Ravioli (?)

I hold a football during the game... I didn't have it for the first quarter... but from the second quarter on I did... I hold the ball when the Skins are on offense and put the ball down on defense.... odd, but it worked... I just have to watch now because my son is an Eagles fan... just to get under my skin... and he told me he's going to burn that football... so I hid it :) .... My wife says I'm pathetic but she just doesn't understand.

if i happen to miss the start of the game and i tune in and the Skins are winning THEN start losing, i'll change the channel (my reasoning is that they had the EXACT amount of good kharma needed before i turned the game on, thus by turning it off all will be right with the world once again). if i watch from opening kickoff and they start losing (like yesterday when they were down 14-0) i'll turn it off and hope that by not watching it will negate any bad kharma...i also do this with the tarheels....i'll check the score from time to time and if they're making a comeback (like yesterday) i'll just keep it off my set but will check in. wierd i know.....

I was very nervous yesterday because I had to watch the game over at my sister's house and I had been convinced that my 5 month old niece was bad luck. I've only watched a couple of games while in the same house as her this year and we lost everyone (the last two preseason games, the giants game, and most recently I had to watch my terps get completely embarassed by UVA with her).
I was devasted to see that f'ing Comcast Howard County was showing pro bull riding instead of the Redskins game yesterday so I rushed over to my sister's becuase she has Fios and gets all the DC stations in HD. After that BS punt return I demanded that my sister put my niece into her lucky Redskins cheerleader outfit because we were 3-0 when she wore it. Sure enough, she got the dress on her and the rest is history.

Well I watch the games in my garage and grill out for all games rather its ribs wings burgers we jut grill something. The past two weeks we have not grilled anything do to one reason or the other but I said yesterday that te grill is off until we loose a game. That might be tough to do or maybe I'll grill stuff up before the game starts.

In season's past, I would wear whatever color jersey the Skins were wearing that day. This year, I haven't kept to superstitions of years' past...I'm just rolling with the punches, doing whatever on game day, eating whatever on game day, etc. and it's working thus far...

Well its safe to say Im not the only loonie Skins fan. Now I can show my wife that I dont need to be hospitalized.LOL. If the games on two different channels and we are losing on one ill change it to the other. I even will watch defense on one and offense on the other. But yesterday Me and my 8 year old son were watchin the game and he said "dad we are losing because you dont have anything Redskins on" So he puts one of my hats on my head and sure as shit we started winning. Im so proud of that boy. Good job Diggy.

I do the Jersey thing. I rotate when we lose. I wore my new Dirty 30 last week, so you better believe I'm wearing that again.

Another thing is, I always, ALWAYS watch it with members of my band, even if it is only one member. All 5 of us are hardcore Skins/Wiz fans so we oftern watch the games.

There is always some kind of alcohol involved....and food too.

I stand a lot during the games...I can't take the stress.

Since week 2, I have been wearing the same shoes, shorts and skins shirt to each game and watch it at the same sportsbar on Hilton Head Island with my Redskins Family. I go home after the victory, wash everything in order to be ready for the next week. All the SKINS that watch the game with me, sit in the same chairs/tables, all wear the same outfits each week, since week 2. Anything that we can do, we will do, to Hail our Redskins!!!

First thing is to put out the Redskin flag on front of the house. Cannot and won't wear
anything with opposing team colors. If watching at home and something bad happens, will change ends of couch or different seat. Have even mad the dog sit beside me and
he couldn't leave as long as things going good. I've now made my 17 yr old son the same way. Normally wear my white Riggins jersey. Last Sunday when score was 14-0, I went and changed into burgundy Riggins jersey to match the team.

Over the years I've shed most of my rituals. It's a little OCD when you think about it. The only thing I do now is put on a jersey when I watch the game, that's about it.

Angry, I can't let you take all of the heat. I failed to get my flag hung up, nor was wearing a hat. My wife and I were up in the Poconos for our anniversary, nobody was at the house to get the flag hung up. My wife and I were calling our sons, staying at a nearby friends house, telling them to get over to the house and get that flag up. No-go.

I put my Portis jersey on by at least 8 am, regardless of game time. I sit in the same spot on the couch, and don't move unless it's halftime or end of the game.

First thing, early on game day ... I clean the room that I watch the game in (run the sweeper, clean the TV screen, pick up and put away any "stuff" that detracts from the neatness of the room, take out the trash and wrap up the weeks laundry ...

Middle of the morning ... watch 1 hour of church service on TV ... I often need the Lords Blessing upon me when I watch the 'Skins

After church, if it's an early game, I go on-line and fire up the Redskins pre-game show ... if it's a late afternoon game ( like this week ), I take a little more time in the housework

Around 30 minutes before kickoff, I change into my "Game Watching clothes" ... Redskins T-Shirt, Khaki shorts and White fitted Redskins cap with the red 'R' on it, and settle into my Lazyboy ... I have the NFL.com Gameday site up, with the pregame show playing ... since I am no longer able to get NFL Sunday Ticket ( thank you condo assoc. ), I open my favorite on-line webcasting site, and when the link comes up ... off we go!

My family knows, after being married for almost 21 years, that on game days when the Redskins are playing ... don't bother Dad !!!

I love my wife and my son ... they understand my quirkiness, and they don't hassle me.

And when the Redskins win ... it's a good day !!!

Over the years I have shed most of my crazy rituals, because during peroids that skins were doing bad I assumed it was all my fault - so i stopped doing certain things. That explains the 15 redskin shirts in my closet I don't wear on game day. My wife wants to throw them out, but I told her I find comfort just knowing they are there....she just stares at me. Thats okay. My shirts understand me.

I guess the only rituals I truly have start after a game when they loose. I start off by being real angry and cuss a lot, and discourage any human contact. I spend all day Monday just hating them and wondering why they would personally do me wrong like they did and swear I will never fall for it again. Tuesday, i start by feeling sorry for the Redskins and making excuses about how close they came and if that only done "this" or "that" they would have won. Wednesday, I start to convince myself that the loss was just something that happened and it is all correctable. They have the potential. Thursday, I fall back in dispair and wonder how long I can survive being addicted to a team like the Redskins. Friday, I start to get a little bit of my spirit back because I have resigned myself that I have been riding this roller coaster for over 38 years and there is no getting off. For every game sitting in the pouring rain (with more Cowboys fans then Redskin fans) watching Tim Hasselback earn a 0.0 QB rating while Dallas slaughters the Redskins - there are the beautiful sunny day games of a year or so ago when we slaughtered the Cowboys. Saturday, I am angry again. Don't really feel like spending the next day getting up and dealing with the drive to FedEX field and all the all day commitment to the game - wish I could just stay home and watch it from my couch. Esoecially since I know they will "blow" it again. Sunday, get to FedEx about 3 hours before the game and let my father in law cook me something to eat. Then...it happens.... everything fades away and I convince myself 100% that the Redskins will be victorious today by a score of 47-3. My lack of faith and dread of another painful loss falls away and I go right past hope to 100 % certainty that today the Redsksins will win. I sit in my seat and watch the game and go through 3 hours of what can only be classified as the on set of Stroke conditions and/or symtoms till the the end of the game. If they lose - I repeat the enitire ritual. if they win.....I just stay comfortably numb and in a happy place for the entire week.

I started thinking of the stupid things I do during the game, and decided to search the thread history before re-posting. I'm sure there are new members here that haven't said the crazy things they do.

1) I have a 13ft tall Skins banner that has not been flown since halftime of our last loss.
2) No Redskin gear has been worn on game day since halftime of our last loss, this includes laying on the couch/recliner with a team throw blanket.
3) Cellphone has been off 5 minutes before kickoff since that last loss.

Right now I have a beard that has been growing since the beginning of our bye week, and will continue to grow as long as we keep winning.


No other ritual or superstitious stuff though. Nothing I do is going to be tied to the success of the team so no sense in me doing anything I wouldn't normally do. The beard thing is a bit different since I'm just having fun with it.

Been wearing the same Tshirt on game day since we started the streak. I wash the shirt, and I only started in accident. I also started repeating in my head during the games "the redskins win" during the fourth quarter if the giants game. Worked then and on into the ravens game. I have continued that ever since. It actually calms my nerves during the game.

The whole tshirt thing kinda sucks, because it is one of the older ones I have. I still have yet to wear my new RG III jersey on game day.

I have a buddy who has been wearing the Kerrigan jersey I got him for his bday since the streak started and he hasn't washed it.

Never posting on gameday threads. Worked last 7 games
