Re: How do you like the Redskins start sitting at 4-1 after 5 games
Who would have thought?
We give up a punt return TD. We trail by 14 in the 1st Qtr. JC doesn't throw a TD. Moss doesn't make a single catch. We get no sacks or turnovers. But we win! |
Re: How do you like the Redskins start sitting at 4-1 after 5 games
^^ that's solid shit right there davy

Re: How do you like the Redskins start sitting at 4-1 after 5 games
i'm happy, but i also remember one time washington started 5-0,then lost 8 of the last 11 games to finish 8-8.
so i say one week at a time!!!! |
Re: How do you like the Redskins start sitting at 4-1 after 5 games
I'm happily speechless. We are a VERY solid team, we don't beat ourselves and Zorn is not afraid to take chances. You can tell they are a loose, confident bunch. And in the second half of the season watch out for Devin Thomas, he's growing every week!
|
Re: How do you like the Redskins start sitting at 4-1 after 5 games
And what about props for Devin Thomas on a long 3rd down...sure he screwed up too...but hes a rookie....
I still thing we have Run defense issues but that is a playoff concern. The intangibles for this team equal the Titans...but we have way more talent. The confidence of this team is strong, lets see how Zorn can have his team hit some lesser talent. We also have some major pass rushing issues. I haven't seen a sack in a looong time.
dev could end up being a junior art monk, solid for moving the chains |

After the last two weeks, I'll buy that. This team is being coached up, Zorn is doing a hell of a job! We look very much like a sound playoff team! Lets keep the MO flowing! One week and game at a time. |
Re: How do you like the Redskins start sitting at 4-1 after 5 games
Have we come from behind in every single win this year?
|
Re: How do you like the Redskins start sitting at 4-1 after 5 games
I hate to do this with all the Snyder haters, but... Give it up for our owner. He's a true fan and wants to win. The vast majority of skins fans I know did not approve of the Zorn hire and now they are all singing his praises.

I agree... let us stay the underdogs... I don't want the hype, nor the front page stories. But I'll take 4-1 after the toughest schedule in the league, all day any day. |

Re: How do you like the Redskins start sitting at 4-1 after 5 games
McNabb just went on record as saying "theres no way we should have lost this game...we're definately better than the Redskins, (Bears and Cowboys)." I just lost all respect for this guy.

Re: How do you like the Redskins start sitting at 4-1 after 5 games
Good news is with the opponents we have coming up, IF (that's a big if) we were to catch a case of fumbleitis or a bite by the turnover bug, this would be the time to get it out of the way. These next three games are teams we could still have a chance against even losing the turnover battle, although I must say the St. Lou game scares the sh!t out of me for some reason. However, from what i've seen in this team so far, it doesn't look like we are going to see the ball hit the ground a ton of times this year. Gotta admit, even campbell's bad passes are even more out of reach from the defender than the receiver, and the backs are definitely running"high and tight". They look good...and that's not just the fan in me sayin that. HAIL!

You win with class. You loss with class, even if it hurts. He did neither! BO Jr., classless little bitch just like the rest of that organization, and poor loser! Ole well! How bout them Redskins sitting at 4-1 after 5 games, SWEET! :) Maybe next week will be their 'MUST WIN' didn't work to good for them this week. |

Re: How do you like the Redskins start sitting at 4-1 after 5 games
Barring any team letdowns, I doubt we will be underdogs anytime soon.
|
Re: How do you like the Redskins start sitting at 4-1 after 5 games
Looking at the schedule we will win at least 7 more games.
We need 6 wins in 11 games to lock in the playoffs.
If they keep the fundamentals going HALF as good as they have, we should be in. I see the Giants game being a game that could decide the Division champion.
10 wins isn't going to lock up the playoffs this year. Not in the NFC at least. |
Re: How do you like the Redskins start sitting at 4-1 after 5 games
PFT.com, Puts the SKINS in the leagues 'elite' ranks....huh. I'm surprised they can figure all this science out. LOL
REDSKINS ROAR BACK Posted by Mike Florio on October 5, 2008, 3:34 p.m. Proving that they’re among the league’s elite teams, the Washington Redskins have crawled out of an early 14-point hole, scoring 23 straight points to lead the Eagles in Philly. A win would push the ‘Skins to 4-1, and would drop the Eagles to 2-3. It also would cap a stunning two-Sunday tour of the NFC East for the ‘Skins, in which they won on the road against the Cowboys and Eagles. Washington’s remaining three division games will be played at home. Clinton Portis has 135 rushing yards and counting, and tight end Chris Cooley is over 100 yards receiving. Each have scored a touchdown. |
Re: How do you like the Redskins start sitting at 4-1 after 5 games
Confidence is a funny thing...You play so much better than you may be when you have it. The problem is, that you play much worse than you really are when you loose it. We are playing with so much confidence right now that it's difficult to know how good we really are.
Don't get me wrong, I love the way the Skins are playing right now. We are a physically dominant team that is doing what it wants, when it wants, no matter what the other team does. My only concern is that 6 short weeks ago we had NO clue as to what kind of team we were and we played with zero confidence. I'm sure you all remember how depressing the coming season looked like back then! I just hope the Skins are not thinking about how "easy" the next few oponents seem to be and how nice 7-1 would be at the half-way split. The easiest way to loose confidence and slip back into playing bad football is to look past lesser teams or to dream about a record that's three weeks and 3 games away. If we play poorly at home and loose, all the great play in Dallas and Philly these last two weeks will be wasted. If we are a playoff team, we need to take care of business against lesser competition and especially at home. I love the attitude this team is playing with right now and I credit Zorn for everything this team has shown thus far. If they continue to listen to him and work to improve each game, no matter who we are playing, this has the potential to be a really exciting year. God knows all of us Skins fans have waited long enough for one of those. Oldskin |
Re: How do you like the Redskins start sitting at 4-1 after 5 games
I understand what you're saying, but I have a feeling if we start feeling overconfident, Zorn will put the ones feeling that way in their place. He can chew rear-ends with the best of them.

Re: How do you like the Redskins start sitting at 4-1 after 5 games
I know it's still relatively young in the season, but I'm lovin this stomping on the Eagles and Cowboys at their place... wow!
How the defense as played with young players contributing....fantastic! JC, Portis, Moss , Cooley ...great! As fans after what we went through last year (RIP ST) we couldn't ask for much more, except for a long Giant losing streak. |
Re: How do you like the Redskins start sitting at 4-1 after 5 games
Jansen wants his job back!!!
I don't think he should've been pulled in the first place. Jansen had his struggles and his injuries but for me, he didn't do anything to prove he wasn't starting material. I think it was a knee jerk reaction to throw a 2nd year player into a starting role. I believe Jansen still has gas in the tank and Heyer provides strong depth. |

They are 4-0. Our first 5 games were by far the toughest stretch of our season and we are 4-1. They'll come down to earth. |
Re: How do you like the Redskins start sitting at 4-1 after 5 games
In the HUGE WIN today JC breaks a JT record:
Posted at 8:15 PM ET, 10/ 5/2008 Campbell Breaks a Theismann Mark From Jason Reid: Quarterback Jason Campbell has set a Redskins record, throwing 175 consecutive passes without an interception. Joe Theismann held the previous mark with 161 passes in 1983. "To be honest about it, I didn't even know," Campbell said. "It really doesn't matter to me individually, but the good thing about it is what it means for the team. "It means we're holding onto the ball. We're taking care of the ball as an offense. That's definitely good right now." |
Re: How do you like the Redskins start sitting at 4-1 after 5 games
5 games and no offensive turnovers. That's simply unbelievable to me.
|
Re: How do you like the Redskins start sitting at 4-1 after 5 games
I think I heard that Campbell set a Redskins franchise record today for most consecutive passes without an interception. That's awesome.
