Re: Redskins vs. Rams predictions
Lets see, I attempted to predict week one, and we lost. I consciously decided not to predict the last 4 weeks and we've won. I don't think its Zorn's teachings as much as it is me not predicting. I mean just check the facts.
Therefore, I won't be predicting again, in hopes that Angry will once again predict a thorough thrashing of our team. Go Skins
You guys do not understand how hard it is to do this with a straight face. The Redskins will come in over confident and allow the Rams to stay close until the second half. After the second half kickoff, Al Saunders's 700 page playbook will all of a sudden become so clear to the Rams offense that it ignites an explosion of 40+ yard plays and double digit touchdowns. Jason Campbell throws his first 3 interceptions turning the ball over to the Rams new found life; leaving the Washington faithfull with jaws dropped and pride ripped away. St. Louis 84 Skins 10 |
Re: Redskins vs. Rams predictions
For them to score 84 on us JC would have to throw 12 picks to the house.
|
Re: Redskins vs. Rams predictions
Ok since 3 picks isn't good enough, JC only gets to throw three before he goes down with an injury and gets placed on IR. Collins throws the other 9.
Happy now? |
Re: Redskins vs. Rams predictions
It's going to take a while for Saunders 700 page playbook to show any dividends for the Rams. It won't start against Greg Blache and our defense. We ran for over 200 yards on the Iggles and the Rams will not shut down Santana. We're at home after 2 tough road wins. Redskins-41 Rams-6

Don't expect the play calling to take a break.
Defense puts on the pressure. Offense finally makes a turnover... but it matters not. Skins 31 Rams 20 |

Re: Redskins vs. Rams predictions
Not to Jinx us but remember Miami last yr. We pulled that one out and no one wanted to be Miami's first loss. LOL.
I don't want us to be the first loss to the Rams. Play them like they are Dallas baby. I would love to see a blow out but I get the feeling Zorn is not about embarrassing other teams. I hope I'm wrong. |
Re: Redskins vs. Rams predictions
The Redskins really should control this game. From what I've seen so far, Zorn will have these guys focused and playing hard. I'm predicting this to be our most lopsided victory of the year.
Redskins 38 Rams 13 HAIL!! |
Re: Redskins vs. Rams predictions
All I gotta say is we better not overlook these guys. I would expect w/ the week off and a new coach that these guys are going to play better. They've still got some very talented guys on offense. Anyone remember in 06 when they had about 500 million yards of offense on us? I think we'll win but I'd expect a little bit of a letdown after two amazing road wins.

They ended up losing Trent Green for the season at that Texans game. The Rams are coming into our house with nothing to lose and we better give them nothing, something to remember here though is that they're still an NFL team. |
I think it will be a close game that could come down to overtime, after that...who knows.
I'm looking for a big game out of Ladell Betts
I hope that's a joke...I try to stay "medium" but I think it wont be close at all. I think we win by atleast 17 points. If we were in ST Louis. It might be a little closer. Redskins 34 Rams 17 St Louis doesn't score a TD until the second half when the game is out of hand. ARE and Moss combine for atleast 200 yards receiving and Portis & Devin Thomas score a touchdown. Horton gets another interception. Carter gets two sacks.. Just wishful thinking...but very possible...ARE is due for a big game and so is Carter. |

Redskins D has givin up only 17 points a game really do to a second half shut down.Redskins O is scoring 24 points a game. Rams are giving up alot of passing and running yards and can bearly score over 10 points a game. New coach or no new coach. Saunders or no Saunders the skins take this one

When I was getting a bite to eat last night at a local bar some guy starts yapping about how the Skins lost to a horrible Rams team the last time they had a good start like this. Hmmmm.... I really hoping history doesn't repeat.

When was that? The Skins have won 8 of the last 12 vs. the Rams. The last time the Skins started 4-1 was in '99 and they didn't play the Rams that year. |
Re: Redskins vs. Rams predictions
I don't want to predict the score. All I want is for us to win and hopefully score more than 30 points.
|
Re: Redskins vs. Rams predictions
Rams have talent on offense. They'll put up bout 17pts. Their defense on the other hand? If Skins play within themselves and continue playing mistake free, can't see them not scoring 34pts!

Re: Redskins vs. Rams predictions
Guys I have to admit this game petrifies me. On paper and stats we should win be at least 30 points. It shouldn't be close. Are we a good team that takes care of business when we are supposed to? I don't think we know yet. I know how we play when people doubt us (4-1 and I can't wait until November 30th so we can get that win back). If we go in and dominate I think it will solidify us as an elite team. And I think we'll do it!
42-3 |
Re: Redskins vs. Rams predictions
I think some people are overthinking this.
The Skins have taken care of business against some very good teams so far. Yet every week there's some sort of disclaimer out there. Before Dallas it was: The Skins haven't proven anything yet. If they can beat Dallas I'll believe they are a good team. Well, mission accomplished, but then we heard: Yeah they beat Dallas, but I won't believe they are for real unless they beat Philly. Ok mission #2 accomplished. Now as we enter a lighter part of the schedule we're hearing: The Skins need to beat the teams they should (and blow them out) in order to be considered legit. A couple of points. I understand the concern about a letdown or just flat out getting upset. But you know, these things happen to even the best of teams. One loss out of the next 3 games would not be the end of the world. Two losses and ok we can talk, LOL. But seriously, it's ok to believe that we have a very good team on our hands. Maybe we've just been down for so long that we don't know how to handle this. But my advice is to stop worrying about every little thing along the way. Enjoy these wins. We're going to lose some more games along the way, but I honestly think we're going to win much more than we lose from here out. So far this team has proven themselves to be a serious contender. It's ok to "believe". |
I have no idea, but he seemed to think he knew exactly what he was talking about. I hope he was wrong!
The only thing I can find is from '97. The Skins were 6-5-1 heading into a game against the Rams and lost 23-20. If that's what the guy was referring to it's pretty lame. The Skins were already collapsing at the time when the lost to the Rams, having just come off that infamous 7-7 tie to the Giants where Westbrook tossed his helmet and Gus butted his head into the wall. |
Re: Redskins vs. Rams predictions
i think it will be a close game, we just havent blown too many people out in the last few years. redskins 24, rams 17
|
Re: Redskins vs. Rams predictions
Don't see a trap game here. Most of the Skins players remember the 700-page playbook, so no surprises there. Blache is familiar with seeing it from practices. Shouldn't be a problem on D. No big concerns for JC & the O either. The Rams are in disarray.

Re: Redskins vs. Rams predictions
The Skins will not look any further than the Rams. These can be the dangerous games if you are not in the proper mind set and have that same killer instinct we have been playing with the last four games.
With that said, we will be well prepared. And we will win this game in our house! It will be a good game, I don't foresee a blowout (although I would LOVE to). We will win by 13 points. Skins=30 rams=17 |
Re: Redskins vs. Rams predictions
On paper its simple...We Crush the Rams...BUT...they do have hungry-2-win playmakers and 2 weeks to prep so its possible they can make plays offensively....BUT I DOUBT IT. WERE NOT easin up on the throttle this week.

Re: Redskins vs. Rams predictions
My main concern is rushing defense, it has been since we played the Giants.
On top of that it looks like Griffin, M Washington, Doughty may not play at all. We can live without Doughty. But losing Griffin on the Dline rotation could hurt us. And although M Washington seems to have lost a step, I still believe he is better in Run d vs backups. It is good to see Jason Taylor may play situationally and that Springs will likely play. Heyer being questionable wont be a problem. I still think the Skins will win, but the Rams will try to make it a low scoring running game if they are smart.
