Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions
1-3
This is what I posted in another thread: Atlanta is 8-4 right now, they would only need to go 2-2 to get to 10-6 and get that 6th playoff spot. We need to go 3-1 and right now realistictly.... vs. Baltimore - tough as nails defense, we could only win if their offense is subpar...but their defense is just too good. (L) vs. Bengals - we could win this one. (W) vs. Iggles - A "we should win" game, but they have a good front four in defense that could disrupt our game. @ San Fran - and this would be our Rams part 2 game, a team we should be able to beat easily, but could end up losing. (L) Even if we beat the Bengals and S.F., that would put us at 9-7, not good enough to get that 6th playoff spot in the NFC this year, unless a whole bunch of people lose. |

I'm impressed w/ your optimism man... if your being serious. |
Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions
I say we lose to Baltimore, beat San Fran and Cinci, and the Eagles game is a toss up. So, i'm looking at 3-1 at best 2-2 at worst.

2-2, miss the playoffs

Well it looks like we aren't complete nihilists, nobody has voted for 0-4 yet. :D |

Muchas gracias for taking up that mantle :) ... it's just so damn hard because I want to hope for another playoff run and mostly to just see improvement on offense - solid execution, development among the rooks, and some friggin points - but when the offense continues to come out flat and play sloppy and the disappointment keeps rising... blah |
Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions
1-3. It's a toss up between beating Cincy or SF. One, not both.
|
Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions
I see us finishing 1-3. Call me a pessimist, but our offense is OFFENSIVE!!!
If we score 20 points, it's as if we won the jackpot!! |
Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions
Additionally, I really have to question the hiring of Jim Zorn. Nice guy, but I just don't see him emerging as a top coach in this league.
Suggestion: Let go of some of the reigns, Mr. Snyder. Go out and hire Bill Cowher after the season, hire a GM, get Jason Campbell a big target wide receiver (infuse Thomas and Kelly little by little), re-build the O-line, and get a stud pass rushing DE. If he (i.e Zorn) is willing keep him as a Quarterbacks Coach. This would be a MAJOR step in the right direction. |

Hey why not? It's not like we haven't seen this team rattle off big winning streaks to finish off the season before. |

Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions
I've been picking us as a 10 win team and Im comfortable with that. 3-1. We may beat baltimore this weekend almost as a statement game, but I wouldn't bet the house on it. I see us winning the rest, though. Philly be damned if we're up against the ropes.

Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions
2-2. I think we lose to Baltimore and Philly.
I'm typically ultra-optimistic but I just don't see it now.
I'll go 2-2 as well, heres hoping its better.... I just dont think this team has a run in them like they did in 05' and 07....but I was pretty pesamistic those years two, so who knows...I thinks we beat Cinci/SF, lose to Bal/Philly and miss the playoffs. Huge dissapointement...I'm praying I'm wrong. If we can find a way to beat Baltimore, I'll really start to turn the corner and be optomistic, but I just dont know how....I guess the only thing I'll hang my hat on is...we haven't lost on the road since opening Thursday night, and although I think we played poorly against Detroit & Seattle, we still have looked better than at home..... I guess I really wouldnt be shocked with any of those four records. I could see us beating Baltimore this weekend, but I also could have seen us beating NYG last weekend, and that argument of a "feeling" only holds water for so long. Overall, 2-2, 9-7 is my prediction. Hoping I'm wrong, assuming I'll be right. |

Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions
I went 2-2 losses against the Ravens and Philly...it knocks us out of the playoff picture early...this could benefit us...because then we could try to inject Thomas, Kelly and our new TE (I actually forgot his name)....I would also activate our rookie Guard and get his butt and Heyer on the line for the last 2 games too.
I'd bench Portis and Moss for the last 2 games so they dont break....why not? You know if they keep them in there is no way they will throw to any of these rookies...EVER. Also, have Devin Thomas return some punts. |

Brilliant.
I think you just have to admire the posters assertiveness. I mean, not only does he suggest that Zorn will likely never be a great coach, but then he suggests that we replace him with a man that through 15 seasons was only able to prove that he could survive in the very most stable situation in the NFL. I mean, to think that Cowher has a rats chance in hell of lasting two years in Washington, you've got to respect someone with those type of cajones! |
Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions
They are all winnable. We settle down a little, get back to basics, Kelly steps up, Thomas wants another TD, and go 3-1.
|
Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions
3-1 do we hold a tie breaker over dallas???? if they finish 10-6 too
|
Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions
Zorn's milk and cookies parties have me sittin on the edge! Send him back.

Yes, we would have 1 more conference win if we both were to go 10-6. Edit: But, one of those 2 Dallas losses has to be to an NFC team (either NY or Philly). |
Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions
2-2 for sure. Ravens and Philly will beat us. Cincy is a mess and San Fran for sure has a QB problem going on. Thing is I can almost see 1-3 if Clinton has to miss a week or two. Whatever is going on with the offense, whether is is poor execution and/or opposing teams figuring out the WCO, I don't see a marked turnaround. Right now I am just pulling for an above .500 record to possibly build on next season. JC needs to step it up also since Portis is one hurting unit.

Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions
It seems like teams have figured out how to bring pressure and we just can't figure it out.
Our O-line can figure it out, the problem is we do not have the personnel on our o-line that has the physical ability to stop it. Same on the defensive line. |
Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions
While I would love for us to make a run and get into the playoffs I am not sure if that will happen or not this year. For a first year coach I am pleased with some of the strides we have made. It is evident by our recent struggles that we have to address our O and D-Lines in the offseason and develop these young receivers we picked up last year. We cannot expect Moss to carry the load.
Zorn's milk and cookies parties have me sittin on the edge! Send him back.
~~~~~~~ A little too early to throw Zorn under the bus. We have to give him time. I do not want us to become a revolving door for head coaches that does not benefit anyone and makes us look bad. If we want to be an elite team we have to have consistency. |
That will set us back 2-3 years. We will be that team that is always "rebuilding". You got to give Zorn a chance. We need to address our lines if we are going to be successful. If you cannot pressure the other teams' qb and yours is getting knocked around I do not care if Vince Lombardi is the coach, it is hard to be successful. |
Re: 4th Quarter Season predictions
The team does not have the right amount of fight! They lack the physicality in the trenches to win in the NFC!
