Re: WTF??DeAngelo hall continues to get dumped on.....
gtripp, any idea on why the skins aren't letting Hall have a crack at returning some punts?

Re: WTF??DeAngelo hall continues to get dumped on.....
All of us idiots? Yeah, and all of the idiots that voted him to 2 pro bowls as well, dumbass

Re: WTF??DeAngelo hall continues to get dumped on.....
He's got the one thing our dbs don't a nose for the ball, Looks like he's doing well for us. And if he's the 3rd corner on our team he's hands down the best nickel corner in the league.

Re: WTF??DeAngelo hall continues to get dumped on.....
Sorry, I should have been more specific. That was directed at the people who seem to think that he is either A) Top 3 or 4 in the league (I know I read that somewhere on here) or B) Think he is better than Rogers or Springs.
A lot worse people have gotten two picks in 3 games. We're just so used to not seeing that sort of production, that we have exalted him already. Another reason why he has those picks is because teams gameplan to throw at him. He's had more chances. Who was getting the safety help in Oakland? Nnamdi Asomugha? Hardly. He has great hands and athleticism but he finds in himself in bad positions constantly. I will say that he has been better since he's been here. Maybe all the acting out he did in Atlanta and Oakland, that led to his sloppy play and departures, is being curbed by our veteran locker room. If he truly wants to be here, great. As long as it's not a crazy contract, I'm all for it. Those that think he's better than Springs or Rogers (even with stone hands) are sorely mistaken (was that better than idiot?). I agree, the rules are against them. With wideouts turning into DE's with 4.3 speed and the corners can't touch them it's a losing effort most times. Meanwhile star wide receivers can push off every time (unless you're a rook getting no respect, welcome to the league Thomas). Which is why it's even more important to be technically sound, something that he will never be accused of.
I honestly haven't seen more than maybe a handful of people (if that) saying that Hall is better than Springs or Rogers. Its obvious Hall isn't the CB he was when he came into the league but he's decent. I don't know why people are trying to treat him like the second coming of Deion Sanders. |
gtripp, any idea on why the skins aren't letting Hall have a crack at returning some punts?
No, other than the fact that Danny Smith isn't a huge fan.
Zorn's probably more satisfied with a receiver back there anyway. I get the vibe that they are okay with the lack of production we get from that unit because it doesn't turn the ball over. |
Re: WTF??DeAngelo hall continues to get dumped on.....
If he can grow up and stick to playing a clean game without stupid personal fouls and show boating then maybe. I'm still not convinced on him.

Since being with the Skins he's had 1 late hit call. Showboating.. I haven't seen any evidence of. History doesn't always predict the future. I suspect the staff will make sure Hall stays in line. |

I like him, I hope he can find the self control, but like others have said, I just don't want the FO breaking the bank for him. I saw the one INT that Springs blocked, and after shaking his head he went over and help Springs up. I think that is as positive, as the penalty was negative. |

Given the chance a guy could commit a personal foul on every play if he so desired. I think Hall just got too emotional on one play and wasn't using his head. Water under the bridge. Besides, it's not like that one play caused the Skins to lose the game. If that the case, why not make a case for Moss actually SWINGING at a guy during the Seahawks game? |

Re: WTF??DeAngelo hall continues to get dumped on.....
I agree that Hall brings things to the table that Smoot does not.
But the bold part is the key here: does that sound like the Redskins to you? Letting a marketable athlete go because he wants more money than his play on the field dicates he should get? Hall is worth way more to Snyder in terms of $ than he's worth on the field. Ideally, DeAngelo Hall would be our nickelback, sell a bunch of jerseys, and return kicks for us. Realistically, he's our often toasted second corner of the future.
he was actually back on one punt, dont remember what game, but he let an obvious fair catch end up downing within the 5. Bad way to start off. |
Re: WTF??DeAngelo hall continues to get dumped on.....
I can not believe this thread is still kicking. We gave up a second round pick and paid J. Taylor $8.5M this year for:
Jason Taylor 14 tackles and 1 sack.... and you have the audacity to complain about DeAngelo Hall getting league minimum: he has kept his mouth shut and stayed out of trouble. Honestly you guys putting down Hall sound like a bunch of bitches. |

Honestly you guys putting down Hall sound like a bunch of bitches.
I think the conversation is about whether to sign hall after this season, and if so, how much? at seasons end we'll start to hear about the ball park numbers to resign hall. im just guessing but id expect him to want a long term deal something similar to the 7 YEAR $70,000,000.00 contract he signed in oakland. i hope he doesnt have the audacity to demand such a figure but he might. id offer him 3 years, 12 mil salary with a 5 mil or so signing bonus which is still a good bit of change. i could see the skins offering him their standard backloaded longterm contract; something like 5 - 7 years at 30 - 40 mil with a 10 mil signing bonus but his salary the first 3 years would be in the 3-5 mil range greatly escalating to 7-10 mil salary at the backend which he would never see b/c he would be cut or traded by then or (if he worked out) would be asked to restructure. the hall resigning should be interesting to follow in the offseason, hopefully danny and vinny dont think a few ints makes the guy indispensable. go skins!!!! i hope our D stomps a mud hole in flacco!! |
Re: WTF??DeAngelo hall continues to get dumped on.....
the people jumping all over Hall's coverage skills amaze me. alot of them are the same people that wanted Fred Smoot back. Hall isn't a top tier corner.but he is a huge upgrade over Smoot. and Springs is just down right undependable. i say keep him, at a reasonable price. if he wants more then that, goodbye
you remember those exact people a few years later? |

People who can't type coherent sentences and put any sort of string of logical thought together are idiots.
People who ignore Hall's struggles just won't have their opinions respected because it's hard to take them seriously. |
Re: WTF??DeAngelo hall continues to get dumped on.....
Good points. I am by no means saying the guy is the second coming of D. Green. But those that say he is garbage I just don't understand. Yes, he does have his struggles, but look at C Rogers. At least when the ball touches Hall's hands he holds on to it! The rest I feel he can be coached up on, plus he is still very young.

Rogers is sort of a moron IMHO. He can't catch either because he gets his panties in such a bunch that he loses focus or he just as shitty eye-hand coordination. And somehow he can manage to watch neither the receiver nor the QB at least a handful of times a game, and when he gets caught doing it as he did tonight... Going to be very, very scary if he truly is our #1 cover corner after this year. |
