Not for lunch, but for dinner last nite I had the BBQ Pulled Pork Burger, garlic fries, cole slaw, and a chocolate shake at Red Robin.

Re: What's for lunch?
Today I had a Schmidter, a Philly specialty. It's a philly cheesesteak with salami chopped up and cooked in, smothered in sharp provolone with a little Russian dressing.
You'd think the Russian dressing would be out of place, but for whatever reason it's great. Served on a huge soft kaiser. Yum. |

In all fairness, it should come with a Surgeon Generals warning label on it, or possibly a "heart stint" kit. No worries, I am confident the Fed will nix that.....delight, with the food "fat tax" allegedly. I better order one over the web before that happens. Can't get a decent Philly here |

Like on a nice warm Reuben sandwich... which I believe I'm going to have today. Anyone from Northwest DC / Bethesda probably knows the greatness of Booeymonger sandwiches. Booeymonger * A Unique Delicatessen * |
Re: What's for lunch?
I used to pass the Booeymonger in Ballston on my way to work every day, but never stopped...
We have a semi-hidden secret here in Frederick called aka Frisco's that is tucked back in an industrial park. Amazing cold cut sandwiches, soups, salads and baked potatoes. One of their specialties is called exploded potatoes. Imagine potato salad with chives and butter, smashed to hell and served warm. Sounds weird, but they are amazing. Today, I had their roast beef and cheddar with a cup of white bean chicken chili. |

It's on, fittingly enough, Research Blvd. on the ground floor of an office building, so you sort of have to know where it is. They had redonkulous subs and sandwiches there. I used to always get this one monster called the New Yorker. It was basically a hot Reuben and a big sub roll. It was messy as hell and it would put me into a food coma, but man was it greazy*! *please note that greazy is a very good thing when it comes to food. My friends used to have a website dedicated to this concept that I used to write for, but they've since shut it down. If you have Facebook become a fan of greaze to learn more. |

Re: What's for lunch?
Thanks lil Wayne, do you really have to say no homo? Do you really need to validate your heterosexuality to that extent or are you not comfortable with it?
Sorry, end rant, I just cant take people who seriously who say "no homo". |
Re: What's for lunch?
OMG! Since it is a half decent day temp wise we decide to go out to lunch at a local drive in spot. I had a whole cheeseburger sub and a large cherry milk shake. I am thinking of gutting myself with a knife, my stomach hurts so bad.

Re: What's for lunch?
I had the "Tuna Turner" (no meat on Friday's during Lent) on toasted wheat with a side of fries from Booeymonger today. Great stuff. They have awesome lemon bars, which I had for dessert. I love that place, and it's so convenient from my work (1 block).

I just hate walking around with tuna breath; I must have had like 10 Lifesavers (our damn vending machine was out of gum) but I still think I stink.
|
Re: What's for lunch?
I had 2 slices of cheese pizza from the local mom and pop shop for the same Lenten reasons.
|
Re: What's for lunch?
Well I owed my mother a mother days lunch from last year so I took her out to lunch today. I know its a bit late but it seemed that one of us was always having to cancel. I had a great chicken sand. with bacon, letuce, tomato, with a little mayo.
|
Re: What's for lunch?
I had a slice of white pizza today, but not for Lent purposes. It's just good pizza.

I hate it when that happens!! On a side note, the best gum out there right now is Orbitz Sweet Mint. It tastes like Thin Mint girl scout cookies. |

Re: What's for lunch?
NO WAY! Stride gum is the best and last the longest. Plus how the hell does a GS Thin Mint cookie clean your breath?
|
Re: What's for lunch?
I work in Chantilly, VA. Most of us i think know where that is. There is a relatively new BBQ spot called Willard's BBQ. It's on Willard, clearly. Anyway, i highly recommend it. Great Food!

Oribtz has some good flavors (bubble mint and citrus mint are damn good), but sweet mint is hella good. |

I think I have but I will get it again. I seriously have a case of Stride that I need to finish. |

Unfortunately, I'm allergic to gum...no that's not actually true. Just that chewing gum gives me a bad stomach ache. The only flavor I can handle without any problems is the old school Wrigley's (doublemint and spearmint). It's kind of a weird thing, I mean I'll chew other gums but only for like a couple of seconds and that's as much as I can handle. |
Re: What's for lunch?
Could you be having problems because you are chewing and your stomach is creating more acid expecting food to becoming down?
I only say this becuse when I had an ucler once the doc told me not to chew gum because of that reason. |
Re: What's for lunch?
Last lunch of the year and it sucks. Lean Cusine meal, cheez-it's and a diet Mt. Dew. I am still at work and no one is here to go out to lunch with.
|
Re: What's for lunch?
Left over Turkey and Ham sandwiches...MMM MMM!
|
Re: What's for lunch?
I try to eat all low fat type stuff for lunch durn the week and on Fridays either I get a Philly steak or chicken sub from the local guy down the street. Sense today at work is my Friday I'm going to have the Philly Chicken sub which is still pretty low in fat without cheese but its still very good.

Re: What's for lunch?
Chicken salad sandwich from Cafe Express in Bethesda. So money.

Funny little lunch story from today (5/20/10)
It is nice today, high 70's, so we decide to moved up our normal going out Friday lunch to today, so we wanted to eat outside and wanted some good Pit Beef. Head over to the local Pit Beef joint and get a table outside. I am eating my sandwich when I think my Pit Beef is a little dry I need some sauce. Sauce is stored in a Rolling Rocks type bucket (bucket of rocks, you know), I reach over to grab the squeeze bottle of sauce but instead of grabbing it I pause while holding the bottle waiting for a co-worker to finish up a story (basically holding eye contact), well in the 3 or so seconds I was holding the squeeze bottle a a 1.5 foot black snake decides to slither out of the bucket and up my hand and arm. Yes I crapped myself! |
Re: What's for lunch?
Just finished 2 slices of pizza with sausage, red & green bell peppers.
Yeah, late lunch. |

There was a smoker right there out on the deck, we were all saying to do it. I just walked him over to the long grass and he took right off. |
Re: What's for lunch?
Hit the Wawa today: Turkey Sub on a toasted roll (If you haven't done it, next time you go to Wawa, get your favorite sub on a toasted roll. You'll never go back) and Utz Party Mix.
