I know I'm going to be viewed as the social pariah here, but before I read that thing above about DeNagelo Hall, I figured we'd definitely be in the race for him. I could see Danny licking his chops and salivating over the idea of bringing him here...he is a Rosenhaus client, so ...you never know.

I hope to God he doesn't come here. I'd love to see him go to Baltimore and tear their team apart. Or maube the Ginas...I mean Giants.

I disagree Pocket$, Dallas may be a more managable team without him but, from a pure talent standpoint they are far more worse off without him. IMO

He made Romo look a lot better than he is IMO.

I'm glad we have our 12 cap. I know you are too. I'm just saying, there is no way he will come here.

We’ll have plenty to say throughout the day about the stunning decision by the Cowboys to dump receiver Terrell Owens.

Here’s the first thing that comes to mind — his next destination.

And we’ve got a feeling that he’ll continue his tour of the NFC East.

It’s the Redskins and the Giants, we predict, who could be vying for his services.

Let’s start with the Giants.

The Giants learned the hard way late last year that having a receiver who can draw double coverage is far more important than having two running backs who can gain 1,000 yards each.

Sure, they were burned by Plaxico Burress, and on the surface they might not be interested in signing a guy like Owens, who has been a problem in the past — and that’s an understatement.

But, frankly, the Giants didn’t bat an eye about signing defensive tackle Rocky Bernard, despite the fact that he flies the only red flag T.O. doesn’t: a criminal record.

And New York admittedly chased defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, who likes his cars fast and his cleats sharp.

So, given the potential benefits that T.O. can provide on the field, it would be very easy for the Giants to justify giving him a chance, especially if he agrees to a contract that protects the team against any bad behavior.

The Redskins would be interested even if they weren’t in a position to twist the tails of their Texas rivals. It’s Terrell Owens, for crying out loud. A big-name player, available to be signed by a team that collects them like football cards.

For the same reasons that the ‘Skins were willing to give up a package that could have been worth two first-round picks last year for erratic and emotional Bengals receiver Chad Johnson, owner Daniel Snyder will pounce on the chance to upgrade a so-so receiving corps with a guy who knows the West Coast Offense as well as any receiver.

We give the Redskins a little more of an edge on this one, because: (1) they’ll be willing to pay more money; and (2) the Giants ultimately could decide to back off not based on attitude but on age. Owens is a temporary fix; the Giants are likely hoping for something that adds value for more than a year or two.

That said, there are some wild cards in this equation. The Raiders have long been regarded as a team that could take a chance on Owens. The Ravens tried to get him several years ago, and linebacker Ray Lewis recently gushed about the guy. The Jets let one of their starting receivers become a free agent last week, and the guy just signed with a new team on Thursday. The Vikings run the West Coast Offense that Owens knows so well, recently swung and missed on T.J. Houshmandzadeh, and could easily sell to the fans a flirtation with Owens by pointing to the fact that, unlike the Love Boat crew or even defensive end Jared Allen, Owens has never gotten in trouble with the law.

Regardless of who it is, the guy still has some football left in him. And he’d surely love nothing better than to continue his career in the NFC East, where he’d face the Eagles twice and the Cowboys twice.[/I]

I do not see us bringing the piece of trash in...despite that long Mike Florio article. His whole premise for the article is that Owens will try to play for every team in the NFC East, it's a piece based more in fun than fact.

If he did come here and wanted to wear #81, there'd be riots at every game. Snyder has made some smart moves to improve our team this offseason and I think he's learned how to improve the team better than he had done with past experiments. I have faith he'll make the smart move and leave Owens to tear another team apart.

I could see him landing in New England, Oakland, Tennessee (has no receivers so maybe there)...that's about it. He's like Manny in baseball...there's talent there WHEN HE TRIES...but his personality turns most teams off to the risk of bringing him in.

Who knows, maybe Cincy will cut Chad Johnson and sign Owens. CJ is psycho too, but I'd take him over Owens any day.

The Yankees tried that with Roger Clemens...didn't do a lot for team chemistry.

Snyder has to be salivating and that is scary.

I am not sure that Campbell is a strong enough of a personality to deal with this guy. I also do not think they should risk alienating Hall. Even if Hall and Campbell publicly said that they wanted him I would be leary.

This really scares me because Owens still has enough talent for any team to justify signing him.

The only guarantee with Owens is that at some point he will wear out his welcome and your team will suffer greatly.

Why would Snyder be salivating? Snyder wanted nothing to do with T.O. the last time he was on the market and we needed a WR more then than we do now. What makes you think Snyder would change his mind on T.O. and go after him now?

My logic is fairly simple. If we just parted ways with a 34 year old, soon to be 35 year old defensive end, who by all accounts is a stand-up guy. Why in the world would we sign a 35 year old wide receiver with baggage, a history of being divisive, and would command a nice chunck of money for a season or two?

The only way I see T.O. coming to D.C. is if our wideout corps has been depleted due to injuries come mid-season.

Unfortunatly I know it does. :) I don't care either way. He's got talent, tall, and still fast. He would make us better at WR by drawing some of the double teams off of Moss or vice versa. I also know he would possibly destroy the team with bad chemistry. For those of you who don't like JC this might definitly set him back and your very own Colt might get his chance. lol. I really don't care either way though....he could help just as much as he could hurt.

The last time he was on the market, JOe Gibbs was running the show & he definitely did not want any part of To. I hope that Snyder isn't even thinking about it, but maybe he'll call Rosenhaus just to jack the price up for whoever signs him!

Something to add to this speculation that Florio didn't mention:
VINNY DRAFTED TO!

In fact Vinny mentioned it first in an interview once as his greatest find.

If we hadn't made a commitment to two new WRs, plus a receiving TE last spring and if we still had Gibbs who could control TO I'd definitely consider him. But now, even with some doubts about Kelly's knees and a still new head coach in Zorn, along with TO's age, I don't think he's the right fit here. He can still play though.

Giants makes sense for him. Other teams that could make sense are New Orleans, Tennessee, and the Vikings. Maybe even the Ravens and Colts.

Everyone, If your sticking around waiting to see if TO becomes a Skin. Your wasting your time.

1) We did'nt want him when we could have got him
2) He wants to play in the NFC East not the other way around
3) He would greatly hinder the development of Campbell (Demanding ball hog)
4) We just signed DeAngelo Hall to a lot of $,$$$,$$$ we dont risk shutting him down
5) He is without a doubt still one of the best WR in the league IMO. But, his age will catch him this coming season. He missed a lot of passes in 08'
6) He would hinder Moss and cause disruption with our WR's
7) We don't need him.
8) He would be distracted by Homo at Cowgirls games:)

Last year they wanted to give 2 #1 picks for Chad Johnson. Luckily, that didn't go down.

T.O. is better than Johnson and does not cost any picks.

I doubt they would take a chance on him this time around but the other teams do sound like reasonable options.

[B]Pocket$[/B], JC may not be strong enough but Zorn loves JC. I question if Zorn is strong enough like the Tuna to control T.O. but I think if T.O. even looked at JC wrong I could see Zorn dealing with T.O. head on. Zorn covets JC as his QB.

[B]12thman[/B], There is a difference in letting a 34-35 y/o DL go who's talent is waning and bringing in a 35 y/o WR who is still considered one of the best at his position.

...and it's also true that everytime he has moved on to new teams the old team was either in shambles or something. Our only saving grace would be that we would still have Kelly and Thomas to pick up where he leaves off. Dallas does have Williams so there WR situation is not as dire as the Eagles was but they still have other positions to fill like DE one of their best just got signed away. CB, one of their best just got signed away. and now WR.

I personally don't want TO. We have too many other holes to fill (OL, OG, OT, DE and probably RB) than to keep signing players to our fantasy team. But who knows what the boy king will do. Anything is possible when he has his hand on the wheel. Even giving up NO. 81 to TO.

I wouldn't be upset at bringing TO here, for the right price. But I wouldn't prefer it. We have other more pressing needs. And I don't want us bringing him here just to keep him off the Giants either.

I'd sign Holt in a heartbeat. Yes, he clearly on his downside but he's the kinda of pro who could show Thomas and Kelly what it takes to succeed.

Not sure how he would fit in b/c I am pretty sure he wouldn't want to be the No. 4 receiver.
