Re: Micheal Crabtree is sad
The irony is that Singletary held out for a week because he thought he should have been a first-rounder.

Really? I didn't know that. Ironic indeed. |

Yep.

Actually, I could see him being more like Micheal Westbrook. |
Re: Micheal Crabtree is sad
If he does sit out, or never report to the team that drafted him...the team and Reebok should send him a bill for all of the #15 jerseys and merchandise that had his name on it. Ship all of the jerseys to his parents house. No one else will buy it.

Re: Micheal Crabtree is sad
What if Crabtree does sit and re-enters the draft. Then next season the 49ers pick him again just to F with him...does he sit another year?
I would laugh my ass off. |

I would laugh my ass off.[/quote] That would be awesome, especially if he falls to them at pick # 15 instead of 10, so they can pay him less! |
Re: Micheal Crabtree is sad
I'm surprised & perhaps impressed that 4 pages into this thread there hasn't been any mention of us trading next year's 1st for him!

Until you...THANKS! |
Re: Micheal Crabtree is sad
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Reciever is easily the most overrated position in all of football and somehow it's always the guys at this posiition that pull these weak pre-madonna stunts. Why can't players just look at Fitzgerald, Calvin, and Andre Johnson and say "thats how you do it." Instead it seems more people seem to be reading from the T.O. book on public relations and image management.

Re: Micheal Crabtree is sad
Niners just lost Brandon Jones, who was on track to be their starting slot reciever, for the next two to three months. Will be interesting to see how this affects negotiations for Crabtree

Re: Micheal Crabtree is sad
Regardless of what other teams do with player personnel.....it makes me very happy player character has some weight with the Skins!

Re: Micheal Crabtree is sad
Face it, Crabtree is going to get either what he wants or pretty damn close. From what I have read though Crabtree's agent has not given the Niners any demands or counter offers. It almost sounds as if there have not been many talks at all. If this is true I wonder how much this might just be a cousin with a big mouth that has no clue what he is talking about.

Re: Micheal Crabtree is sad
Ya know, I have to side with the team (49ers) on this issue, but to be honest if it was my arse having been selected by San Fran......I'd sit out. I simply don't like Singletary so to sit and take less money would be something I could live with knowing I'm working under a coach I could get along with. Especially if you have to be working with him for atleast 5-6 yrs out of the gate. As young as he is he can afford to do it. I would simply live at home with mom and dad and bag groceries. LOL. Until the following yr. Then after the somewhat decent deal goes down buy my parents a new home for their putting up with me. LOL.

Re: Micheal Crabtree is sad
On a sidenote with the 49ers - is it just me or does Singletary seem flaky?
Seems funny that I say that, considering the redskins have Zorn as a head coach, but Zorn is "different" (in a positive way) more than he is flaky (in a negative way). I thought Singletary would be more of an old-school, hardnosed coach. |

With the pulling down the pants incident and some of the things he says, he does seem a little flaky-weird. |
