Wow--Bridges. No Glenn either.

Wonder if we go with a vet cut on the OL?

Edwin Williams made the team, but this team will almost certainly be in the market for a tackle.

i am sure the o line backup plan will be the same as last year.....

Oops what are we gonna do now

Williams over Bridges?? That's confusing. Also, no real change of place back.

D'Anthony Batiste not on the cut list. Was he gone prior or is he on the 53-man?

Re: Redskins final cutdown thread

Not really seeing a veteran surprise that was kinda hinted at. Also, we cut a draft pick of Vinny's so at least no one will claim they were sacred cows.

how can we keep tryon, westbrrok and barnes none of them looked good except for a few glimmers all presaeson, we really have no depth anywhere beside receivers, gonna be a long year

He is just insurance for Carlos Rogers nagging injuries.

Wonder if 6 corners will last. Guess Batiste beat out Bridges?
I think he somehow made it.
We'll like I said, they'll go fishing on a tackle from another team.

The CB position is a little more perplexing. We went with fewer defensive lineman so that...we could load up on Byron Westbrook?

As did Edwin Williams, evidently. I do not like M WIlliams making the roster over Bridges at all. I also don't agree with keeping Mason over Aldridge or Dorsey. What does Mason give us that Betts doesnt?

GTripp0012 09-05-2009 06:11 PM

Re: Redskins final cutdown thread

Well, Bridges can't play tackle. Neither can M. Williams. So we've got to have some sort of move planned.

Naw. Just thinking that they gotta be thinking along those lines. Tell me again who is backing up Samuels?

how does bridges get cut, but batiste doesn't...how does both westbrook and tryon make this team. how does dorsey and/or alridge not make this team?

We've still got 9DLinemen by my count: Carter, Griff, Haynesworth, Daniels, Wynn, Jarmon, Alexander, Montgommery and Golston... thats more than enough, especially with Wilson and Orakpo playing LB/DE.

I'm more concerned about our depth at LB because of keeping 6CBs.

No Aldridge no change of pace back.

GTripp0012 09-05-2009 06:12 PM

Re: Redskins final cutdown thread

7 offensive backs, 5 receivers, 3 tight ends, and 10 linemen on offense.

Heyers backs up Samuels
Williams backs up Heyer
Campbell ends up on his back. (but we can run behind Williams)

Exactly. I hope cutting bridges means rinehart is making an impression. Williams on the roster is just weird IMO...he's shown nothing. Who knows maybe Buges sees something there he can work with.

And i totally agree on the tackle situation. We have to go get someone. Signing Levi Jones would tell me we're very serious about protecting Jason this year and overall keeping the line from collapsing again. Not sure who else there is

Re: Redskins final cutdown thread

Im blown away, but I shouldnt be surprised. How in the world Westbrook makes the team I have no idea. I like Mason, but we still have no change of pace back. Mike Williams sucks, I have no idea what happens if we have an injury right now. Hopefully Gtripp your right and we find veteran help from somewhere else.

All good questions. Was surprised about Bridges being cut as well as both Alridge and Dorsey. Clinton has to be ready because it would apear Zorn intends to work him to death again this year.

Re: Redskins final cutdown thread

Keeping Mason over Alridge or Dorsey is just stupid. Mason is purely a 3rd string RB whereas one of the other two may actually have contributed something we don't have. Who cares if mason gained yards in preseason...they don't need him.
