Sanchez performed pretty well for a rookie. Next up for him are the Titans and the Jags which should give us a better indication of how good he really is.
I thought he looked really sharp, and it's not like the Texans D is weak. |
Re: Cutler Sucks Donkey
Not a Cutler fan i prefer Rivers and Brees! But compared to the genius of Campell anything is better ! Cutler is better!!

While I don't think their D is weak it isn't dominant either. They're in the middle of the pack at best. I will say the Jetts o-linemen is dominant. |
Re: Cutler Sucks Donkey
Not writing him off after one game, I've written him off as being better than JC with his poor decision making that resulted in 18 INTs last year.
IMO Cutler is a more talented passer then JC. He has a ways to go but I think he has much more potential for greatness then JC. |
Re: Cutler Sucks Donkey
I thought he looked really sharp, and it's not like the Texans D is weak.
Well, the Texans D has been one of the four worst defenses in football in each of the past four seasons. That's a remarkable streak of ineptitude, especially considering how good Mario Williams has been.
On Sunday it was as bad as it ever was. There's mismatches all over the field, and the Jets offense around Sanchez wasn't even that good. They (Texans defense) had a good first quarter, but that might just have been home field advantage effect instead of actual skill. I'll be surprised if Sanchez and the Jets aren't 1-2 in two weeks, although, he certainly played at a high level for a half he's a rookie who played like a rookie. |
Re: Cutler Sucks Donkey
Cutler was pretty bad last night, but his WRs didn't help him out much either. Still, he plays way too out of control and really makes some dumb decisions.
|
Re: Cutler Sucks Donkey
Sanchez over campbell has yet to be seen, but Cutler over Campbell I think can be put to rest.

Even after 4INTS, I'd swap he and JC in a HEARTBEAT !!

Yep, and you'd be whining about how bad Cutler sucked 5 games later and calling for Sam Bradford or Colt McCoy, too. |
Re: Cutler Sucks Donkey
27 of 38 (71.1%), 236 yards, 2 tds, 104.7 qb rating vs the STEELERS defense! Keep in mind he is still learning the chicago playbook.
Man...I wish Campbell would "suck donkey" too. |

Hard to do vs that vaunted RAM DEFENSE... just sayin. |
Re: Cutler Sucks Donkey

Cutler will always be the superior player to Campbell, despite what some will try to tell you. The question was whether acquiring Cutler was worth the opportunity cost of giving up multiple first round picks. I do not think it was. The point ultimately became moot when Denver decided that Orton was a better system fit. But comparing Cutler to Campbell will ultimately prove a losing proposition for JC. What you have to do is compare to Cutler to Campbell, Orakpo, Jarmon (our 2010 3rd round pick), and whoever the Skins pick in the 1st round next year. That would have ultimately been the price paid. |

This is awsome, but Cutler does not suck. |
Re: Cutler Sucks Donkey
Seems like the main difference between Cutler and Campbell is that Cutler is more apt to throwing into tight spaces than Campbell is. It's risk vs. reward type thing, but you have to wonder if it's a pivotal element that's missing from our passing attack.

Re: Cutler Sucks Donkey
For ppl to say Cutler sucks, they are lying to themselves to make JC look better so they can cope with the fact that we tried to trade him outta here for a better QB. Cutler had a bad 1st game and the same ppl who come on here and defend JC saying "its his -fill in the blank-- game in a new offense were on here saying Jay sucks. had it been JC it would have been.
Its his first game in a new O, he will learn from his mistakes and improve. His WR's broke off routes. His O-line didnt give him 5 seconds to throw. The defense didnt force 6 3 and outs or score 14 pts on fumble and int returns. Cutler is good, there are reasons why 13 or more G.M's -including ours-were lined up at the door when Denver said they were looking to trade him. End Thread. :) |
Re: Cutler Sucks Donkey
Why does this topic keep coming up? I'm not trying to be mean just that I'm happy we didn't make the trade also cause I think we can all agree his stats are very similar to JC's. If your going to trade atleast try to trade up not into a paralell universe.
but the trade was not made. Everyone's happy for different reasons. Lets move on. |
Re: Cutler Sucks Donkey
He'll give you 3500+ yards, and 20 TDs and 18 INTs. Nothing special about Cutler whatsoever and he is certainly not better than JC.
When I upgrade, I upgrade to first class not from one business class seat to another business class seat. You dig? |

One week the pro JC guys when he has a good game and Cutler sucks then the next will be the pro Cutler guys when he has a good game and JC sucks. I agree with you lets just move on enjoy the win and enjoy the season because there is nothing that can be done now. |
Re: Cutler Sucks Donkey
Im sorry but i have to give credit to anybody that can beat pittsburgh with wrs named Knox,Bennett and Hester with a running game that was nonexistant.
But like you said, it doesnt matter now. |

If that's what it takes to beat Pittsburgh, then Soup needs to man up.

but the trade was not made. Everyone's happy for different reasons. Lets move on.
Well Cutler threw for nearly 1300 more yards, and almost doubled campbells total tds (27 to 14). Of course Cutler had 10 more turnovers (23 to 13), and had the same comp%, but cutler edged campbell in rating by 1.7. But who among us would not want the 1300 or so more yards and the 13 more tds? That being said, we CERTAINLY should agree that to make that move would have hurt us in the long run. Cutler IS better, no question, but the move would not have made sense for us. I just found it funny that Cutler comes out of the gate with a new team and knowing half the playbook, does poorly and a thread saying "cutler sucks donkey" appears. But when he does VERY well vs the STEELERS no one says a word until after I bring it up. However, Campbell is on pace for 8 tds and 16 turnovers and BARELY beat the lowly Rams, yet we still are thinking Campbell and Cutler are somehow similar. Pfff. Of course I do feel bad for Campbell, HE WILL be the scapegoat for our offensive woes, and he WILL be run out of town if this continues to happen when in fact it's clearly a coaching issue coupled by the lack of Campbell to see the field in the redzone. If Campbell produced just 2 tds out of our 4 redzone trips, this would all be moot...but he didn't. Sorry for the rant, point is, Cutler DOES NOT SUCK DONKEY. |
Re: Cutler Sucks Donkey
But what if you prefer a window seat to a middle seat?
That's not an upgrade, that's a lateral move based on personal preference. If two hot chicks sat on my row I would be more inclined to take the middle seat so I can more easily alternate resting my head on their bosom. |
Re: Cutler Sucks Donkey
Shouldnt this be Campbell VS Orton instead of Cutler VS Campbell and/or Orton?
Both guys were being included in a package to get Cutler so its pretty obvious who is better of the 3 so lets see if we can prove McDaniels wrong. |
Re: Cutler Sucks Donkey
Cutler will be just fine, anyone that doesn't believe that just stay tuned!
Mike H. chimes in on Cutler's perception. Holmgren weighs in on Cutler | ProFootballTalk.com |
Re: Cutler Sucks Donkey
Well if we are bringing Holmgren in, remember his thoughts on JC:
"Here you have a young quarterback and a really good young quarterback and coach, it seems like a marriage made in heaven," said Holmgren who watched Zorn develop his star quarterback, Matt Hasselbeck, years ago in Seattle. "The thing is you have to have some patience. He's a young guy. And he may come in soon and shock everybody. Look at the young quarterback in Baltimore [Joe] Flacco, he's not being asked to do the same things as Campbell. He's not throwing the ball as much as Jason. If you're in the West Coast offense, you're going to be asked to do a lot more."
|

First off I haven't heard we are even interested in Mike H., yea I know he's one of the top five names. Those names I'm thinking of in order would be Mike S., Bill C., John G., Bill B., Mike H., if I had to guess one of these five Superbowl winning coachs currently unemployed would be our next HC, no later than next year. Just my thought. If things don't work out for the Z man in DC, which by the way I don't happen to think they will beyond this season, best case. IMO I don't think Mike H. would be the guy, Dan would like to have here as his next HC. The other Mike (Shanny) whole different ball game. |

Re: Cutler Sucks Donkey
You don't win 8 games in the NFL without some skills. Zorn will be here next year if he wins more than 8 games though if he gets fired Mike. H. would be the easiest transition for the team.

true but with the talent on this team I don't think 8 games is very much but that's just my opinion and after today I'm not sure exactly sure if "skills" is the word I'd use but once again that's just my opinion... |

Re: Cutler Sucks Donkey
Call him what you want but Cutler is doing better than us.
However, Campbell is doing better than Cutler. UPDATED stats/assessment: Cutler: TOTALS: 65/101 (64.4%), 760 yds, 6 TD, 5 INT, 86.2 rating, 14 rush yds Sanchez: TOTALS: 49/83 (59.0%), 606 yds, 4 TD, 2 INT, 87.7 rating, 14 rush yds Campbell: TOTALS: 69/102 (67.6%), 793 yds, 3 TD, 2 INT, 92.5 rating, 65 rush yds Ranks: Comp. % = Campell, Cutler, Sanchez Yds = Campell, Cutler, Sanchez TDs = Cutler (6), Sanchez (4), Campbell (3) INTs = Campell, Cutler, Sanchez/Sanchez (2 ea), Cutler (5) QB rating = Campbell (92.5), Sanchez (87.7), Cutler (86.2) Rush yds = Campbell (65), Cutler/Sanchez (14) Campbell is leading all of the 3 QBs in every category except TDs, which can probably be attributed to Zorn's RZ play-calling that mainly consists of runs that are stopped. Even in a suspect offense playcalling-wise, he's carrying the team and proving to be a very capable, if not better, pro QB. If the team did not have Campbell, we'd be far worse than we are now offensively. |
