Because of an oft-used phrase, donkeys seem to get a lot of sucking on the Warpath. Makes me want to be a donkey. :) |
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
How awesome would it be to draft DT Terrence Cody from Alabama 6'4 365 pounds. Even though I believe we need an o-lineman in the first round of the draft. Along with Haynesworth how would you defend that? Cody would demand a double team and Big Al would too with Orapko, Carter or Jarmon off the end. We would be similar to the Vikings with the Williams brothers. That would be great I doubt it would happen but it's nothing wrong with dreaming!!!
Im pretty sure our defense is not as big of a priority. How about a new QB if Campbell falters or maybe some linemen to protect our faltering quarterback for another dissappointing year. |

I think he would look good in B&G plus he would allow us to put Orapko back as a full-time DE. |

Is a jackass and a donkey considered the same thing? I get called a jackass a lot. |

A jackass is a male donkey. I googled it. |

Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
call me crazy i know you will but unless campbell turns this around trade him, draft tebow. pick up a OL with what we can muster up from campbell. As much as everyone says hes not the NFL QB i disagree his style might be what we need?
|
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
1st Round- Jevan Snead or Colt McCoy, since we missed the Sanchez boat:(
2nd Round- Jahvid Best (RB form Cal) 3rd Round- best available OL from the Big 12 conference. |

2Sam Bradford 3 trade back into this round Dexter McCluster: this year's Chris Johnson |

by trading down. the skins have to use just about all of the picks on the Oline. Williams and Dockery are the only 2 i would keep. and Rinehart, if he is healthy |
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
CJ Spiller may be this year's Chris Johnson. I don't know about the McCluster kid someone mentioned. Spiller has elite speed, tough runner, great hands & returns kickoffs.
|
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
I have no idea at this point. I presume JC will not be returning. He will want to start, DS is not satisfied with him, unless whoever is the new HC comes in and talks a sweet game to DS and JC, JC will be outa here. Personally I think he's a good back up but I doubt he see's himself as that.
1st round-If JC is gone then we are left with Colt, and ? Woodson ?. I hope Collins retires. If this is the case I hate to say maybe if we have a high pick and an especially good QB is available maybe QB 1st round. I hate to say that and it's not my favorite pick. With no CAP would that mean we would be able to retain JC one more year? or simply use the Franchise tag? 2nd round- I think Levi can help us here for a few yrs but we need to be grooming someone to spell him or take over if Levi gets hurt, but if we have not picked a QB then LT 1st round and RT 2nd round. shore up the OL. If we do pick QB 1st round then grab a RT and push Heyer to Guard. 3rd Jarmin. Awsome pick guys. For once they got the middle round right. 4-7 rounds- At this point I would almost say OL, OL, OL..... but lets see how Ganther (3rd rounder) works out for us if he fails pick a RB. We need a SAM. I would like to keep Orakpo at DE forever, but I'm an idiot. ;) |
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
cj spiller is a first rounder. McCluster is a low 4.3 guy, equally reciever and runningback from ole miss.
|
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
Wait...I forgot to ask....will Cerrato still be on the team?
If so it will be a WR or CB. |
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
If we don't get QB in the first two rounds (Clausen in the 1st or Robinson in the 2nd), I'd love to get either John Skelton or Dominic Randolph in the mid rounds. They both play for small schools which may hurt their draft status but I think they've got a lot of talent and could be good NFL QBs. Skelton may be a bit too much like Campbell and I don't know how much upside he has quite honestly. Randolph though could be a sleeper star.

Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
Somebody on the wp mentioned Thaddeus Lewis of Duke. Good call.
Thaddeus Lewis, , NFL Draft - CBSSports.com - NFLDraftScout.com I watched him rack up some yards against an aggresive Va. TEch defense. He's got a great arm, size, athleticism & smarts. I think his stock will rise in the combine. He looks like a great mid round pick at present. |
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
if cody somehow droppped to the 2nd round id grab him there. but in the first round we really have to take an o-lineman or qb.
|
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
I don't want to see a single pick used on any position other than the trenches. Offensive more than defensive, for sure.
Rebuild efforts should always start up front. |
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
I want the dude from Oklahoma State, Okung I think his name is?
I'd also like to see the Skins draft Trent Williams. In the latter round I'd like to see what kind of guards the Hawkeyes are putting out this year. I don't see any centers that are blowing my socks off like Mack did. The Stafford RB Toby Gerhart, I think? He'd be a good pick too. Anyone one of those guys should be able to contribute right away. I don't want to hear any crap from Buges about developing players. Oher is playing, for better or worse, right now. Whoever you draft in the first round should start or the person who picked them should be fired. The only exception being the QB and even then . . . |

That assumes though that the o line is addressed both in fa & the draft. If we have a top 10 pick I certainly think the best use, aside from trading down, is to get one of the top LTs. |

I'm still torn about picking up a QB in the first round...but picking up a tackle like Okung is a must. |

Spiller would be awesome. This year it seems like the Rb class is pretty deep which benefits us. Im thinking Oline in the first round, Rb second round, and then make a trade up somehow to get a pick to select QB Skelton(i was at the bucknell game and he was absolutely on fire:Big big dude-reminds me of Big Ben but has a quicker release) |

So you liked Skelton eh? Finally. I've been waiting for someone else besides me to vouch for him. :) Skelton and Randolph (Holy Cross) would be great options. But again, I wonder how much more Skelton will develop. |

Sounds like a pretty good plan. I've been hearing a lot of good things about Skelton. Draft an OT in the first, pickup a good RB in the second, retain JC for a year and try to get some FA o-line help and see how it goes. Move up and take Skelton and he could have at least a year to watch and learn depending on how JC does. I usually don't like trading future draft picks, but if we can pick up another quality o-linemen after our first pick, that would also be an option. A couple of player trades for picks would also give us more ammo. |

I think trading Laron could bring back a 2nd and a 4th. |

Im going to admit that it was you who pointed me in his direction. But after seeing him in person id have to say that he didn't let me down and I can see why you are so enamored. Also I see Kevin Barnes featured under your name, what's up with that guy? |

Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
Yeah I definitely do. I think were going to see a couple of Terps-Barnes and Edwin Williams playing a major role in 2010 (notice I didn't say Heyer). For the record, I'm not a Terps fan

spiller cant carry the load in the nfl. he will be a bust if a team looks to him as a number one back. hes never even had a 1,000 yard season in college. excellent all around player but i think he will be more of a returner/3rd down back in the pros. |
Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft
i hope your right about Williams. i wish he would take over for Rabach right now. im not a terps fan, but think we might have a player here
