Yeah, and the kid said he did it so the family could get on TV. Are you kidding me? His dad said he told the kid he should not fool with the balloon, and he repeated it several times, meaning he planted the idea in the kid's head? The mother looked like she was trying to pull the line out of the kid when he was interviewed. Their neighbor said the family liked being on TV.

Thanks for the links . Area 51 has abount 1 million stories surrounding it . I know a guy < retired AF/ANG > , who was part of a fighter squadrin based out of Ill. . They had a jet that had to make an Emergency landing at the base < area 51/groom lake > . The base sent up an escort to assist him on the base , the rest of the pilots from Ill. were not allowed into the air space at A-51 . They debriefed the pilot for hours , and to much of the jet apart before allowing him to leave the base .

I hope they throw the book at these parents. How did they think that a 6,8, and I think 12 yr old boy's would not at some point tell the truth or tell a friend it was a hoax. They are lucky that the hoax only cost tax payer money and no one got hurt trying to save the boy.
