Re: Saints predictions anyone?

I could see the skins playing competitive the first half, but they'll get deflated after the saints score on a blown coverage. If they don't score in that manner twice or more...

seriously, going into the philly game, we knew that our #1 priority was to cover jackson because he torched us the last game. and yet he gets a wide open TD....unbelievable.

dare i mention the denver game... our secondary is so overrated.

Re: Saints predictions anyone?

Just like the Broncos, the Saints come in on a short week, just won a huge emotional victory and they over look the Skins. The Saints are slowed down on the natural turf. Any given Sunday any team can be beaten and the Skins squeak out a win. They called me crazy at work when I called the Denver game that no one said we would win. Any Given Sunday.

I was not that impressed with the Saints and cannot figure out how they are 11 & 0. If I can see the holes in this team I'm sure our coaches can and we jump on them with a win.

Yeah our coaches have proven they can jump right through the holes to the tune of a 3-8 record

honestly, i can actually see the skins beating the saints. Every year, no matter how bad we are, we manage to beat a team that's much better than us and lose to a team (or usually, alot of teams) that are just down-right awful. This year, i think the saints are the good team we beat.

LOL! If you're not joking you might deserve a ban for that one.:)

The cornerbacks they threw at Welker and Moss weren't even in the league a few weeks ago, and Gregg Williams had them playing lights out. Their defense's tackling was phenomenal (holding the Pats to 17 is a VERY good defensive performance).

And what can you say about that offense? Brees threw 5 TDs to 5 different players and had a perfect passer rating. His accuracy is out of control, and they have a solid compliment of RBs to boot. They are a complete team. They've only scored UNDER 30 points 3 times this year (24,27,28).

Their remaining schedule:

@Redskins
@Atlanta
Dallas
Tampa
@Carolina

IMO they're 15-1 at worst. Dallas could maybe beat them. Anyone who thinks the Skins will beat this team is smoking some serious crack. I'll be covering my eyes and peeking through my fingers for this one. Their coaching and team leadership (Sharper, Brees) won't allow them to look past anyone. Plus Gregg Williams wants to kick our butts I'm sure.

Maroney had a solid game. But Tom Brady was also held without a TD pass. Don't forget the Pats were second to only the Saints offensively heading into that game. They can move the ball and score. They also got outscored more than twofold by New Orleans.

I'm just having a hard time wrapping my brain around how you weren't impressed by the Saints.

Re: Saints predictions anyone?

Closer than some may think, but there style of play is just more of an attack style while we shy from making mistakes.... so we lose another last drive game!!!
I would love to see the Skins play like they are 3-8! and leave nothing in the tank and take all the chances they have and not leave any bullets in the gun!

Saints 31
Skins 28

P.S. there are a couple injuries that could make he game closer or even more lopsided! Is Haynesworth going to play? With out him we look average at best...All the early season talk of his play was nothing more than an analysis of his pockets!! With him not in the lineup, I would say He has been doing a good job all year cause now we are not getting as much pressure!

Is Hall going to play? I am not sky high on Hall but he is better than Smoot!!!! We are going to need all of our DB's to play tight! Tryon is looking better these days...not great but decent!!!

Re: Saints predictions anyone?

I want the same things I've wanted in the previous weeks. I want to see the team play well and play hard, only to loose by a few points. I don't want Snyder to have even the slightest reason to retain Vinny as Executive Super Intendent of Fantasy Football but at the same time I want the team to be good enough to attract quality talent evaluators and coaches in 2010 and on top of that I want the team to have some confidence going into next year. If they just got killed on a weekly basis it wouldn't serve well for the team going into next year. However if you loose close games to good teams you're not totally deflated and you play with a chip on your shoulder.

Dude I was joking and my coments about the holes where the plays the Saints made. I would not be surprised if the Saints did not make it to the SB with a 15/1 record in the regular season. Last night I was very impressed but I also have not seen much of either team so its hard for me to tell if the Saints are that good or the Pats not all that good.

24-13 Saints. Our defense is still pretty good...certainly better than the Pat's. You can't have mental lapses against the saints though.

saints 41 redskins 17...it will appear close and we will either be tied or have the lead at the half but the saints will explode in the second half and win once again.

Saints 28 - Skins 20. It will be maddeningly close but we won't be able to finish (again). Haynesworth and Carter/Orakpo make it a game.

All I'm going to say is...

...Expect an almost Patriots via 2007 style beating.

Good defense or not the Saints are way, way better.

P.S. (We will score more than 7 this time)
Someone should tell that prick Belichick to take a page from Sean Peyton and learn how to win without running up the score.
Running up the score never bothered me much.. a handful of years ago we stomped SF 55-10 and I don't recall a Skins fan being upset about that at all. There may be a game where you have to score 40 or 50 some points to win.. you may have to make every starter play the whole game all out, might as well do it in a live situation. I understand that it's a different situation when the other team isn't returning that, but that's just my personal opinion I guess.

I believe that was a pre-season game that you are referring to...the one in Japan. But you are forgetting is that when Belichick ran up the score on us, it was the same season he kept Brady and his starter after building double digit leads well into the 4th quarter.

Maroney will crack you in the face if you just stand still expecting to drag him down.. and we're talking about the PATS line. WRs found? It still only added up to 17.. and not to mention 2 INTs for Brady.

By your logic New England should have beaten them lol

Actually my fault.. it was 52-17

week 7 2005

I still stand by what I say though, prepare them to win those games and play a full game, because one week they very well may have to.

I'm thinking the Saints will score early and then we slow them down right til late in 4th quarter, then the points will come thick n fast.

Skins 21
Saints 33

or we upset them Skins 24 Saints 21 if our D can hold its own in the 4th quarter.

Re: Saints predictions anyone?

I think we can actually pull this off... No clue why but i think so. It will take a huge game on D and enough points to get ahead.
Redskins 27
Saints 24

Re: Saints predictions anyone?

I smell a trap.

Saints have big emotional game, go on the road ona short week. Skins have one of the best defenses in the NFL.

Skins have lost by ten points or more only 3 times this season. Defense always seems to keep it close.

Only caveat is that Greg Williams knows both teams.
Skins at home, short week for Saints who might be caught napping a bit.

Skins are inline for an upset.

Skins - 21
Saints - 19

That may be a stretch, but with the spread being +9.5 for the Saints, I think the Skins cover well and that is where I am placing my bet.

SmootSmack 12-02-2009 09:05 AM

Re: Saints predictions anyone?

For the Skins to have any chance they need to keep the score low. Saints can score in bunches, Skins can't

I say it stays close for three quarters and the Saints pull away at the end Saints 14, Redskins 10 through 3 quarters. Saints 28, Redskins 13 by the end of the game

Longtimefan 12-02-2009 09:37 AM

Re: Saints predictions anyone?

For somme reason I cannot find what it takes to pick against the Redskins, even when the odds do not favor me. The Saints are not the same team when they play outdoors, so we'll see what happens.

Redskins 27
Saints 24

Go on and laugh!!!
