Interesting...so I guess the argument someone earlier saying that Jones has been successful as a meddlesome owner is not that strong, huh?
Al Davis, Ralph Wilson, Bud Adams, Mike Brown, Zygi Wilf, all examples of "meddlesome" owners. Though Adams seems to have only become one in recent years perhaps due to his advancing age.
Oh man, so what will Snyder be like when he's in his 60's??!! LOL. |

Re: Would Shanny prefer Dallas instead?
I would put Jones first and Snyder second (in regards of being meddlesome). I'm curious to know, was JJ this involved when Jimmy Johnson was the HC? Just curious.
Lol, so you would put Al Davis behind both Jones and Snyder? |
Re: Would Shanny prefer Dallas instead?
While it's debatable which owner is more meddlesome in terms of personnel, I don't think it's debatable who makes a better owner. Snyder, though seemingly making some better decisions as of late w/ the Vinny for Allen swap, has time and time again shown zero class i.e. total lack of professionalism. His "office" had to crap on Williams before the guy left instead of taking the high road. One way or another Snyder has allowed this shit-show of demeaning Jason, or Zorn, or whomever w/ a million inquiries and quests to land different players or coaches.
For a middle-aged man he seems unbelievably immature in his professional business. I'm not questioning his smarts, obviously he made a fortune in the communications gig and then stepped right into a gold mine w/ devoted fans willing to fork over cash year in year out for a failure. But when it comes to the relationship side of his business I mean...yeah if I was Shanahan I'd prefer Jones and the roster he's assembled over Snyder and the roster he's assembled. Again, how many guys can put down a Snyder gig as a plus on their resume? Does Vinny work for another franchise the rest of his life? Would Williams be closer to an HC position (or already be there) had he spent those 4 years proving his abilities to a different owner? |

No one is worse than Al Davis, his coaching staff has absolutely no say when it comes to personal. I couldn't imagine Jones or Snyder calling in plays during an actual game either. |
Re: Would Shanny prefer Dallas instead?
I kind of like Snyder, so bring on the hate!

Re: Would Shanny prefer Dallas instead?
Danny needs to go in his wallet and buy out the ESPN contract for chucky.
The obvious answer is anyone who doesn't want to deal with Jerry Jones.
People like to speculate how involved Snyder is, but the fact is in Dallas Jones is very involved.
Very true. We don't really know how involved DS is, but Jones makes it pretty clear; he even tells the media if he thinks a player (e.g. F. Jones) deserves more playing time. |
Re: Would Shanny prefer Dallas instead?
Anybody watch JJ, Wade and JJ's son at draft when they had the warroom cam. I don't know how our draft room runs, but we don't put a display of emasculating a HC on a public web cam. WP looked like he would of rather been anywhere but in that room with JJ

Yeah, no kidding. That was both tragic (especially if you were Wade) and comic at the same time. Thank goodness Snyder has never put us through such an embarrassment. |

Reminds me of when a kid has to go to work with one of their parents, and the kid just sits there sulking all day like "what the F am I doing here?" |
Re: Would Shanny prefer Dallas instead?
I don't really expect an owner to be completely hands off. They're going to want to know whats going on with their team at all times. They should. Those that want DS to just go on vacation and show up for the games are not being realistic. Jack Kent Cooke let the football people do their thing, but was very demanding too. JKC wanted to win the SB every year. He told JG's that and he told the QB's that.
I've said it before, but w/ the right FO structure, we could be a top NFL franchise, in terms of winning, again. Imagine the combination of a great FO staff, a great coach, and an owner who is willing to spend a little money every now and again. That's not a bad combination. We've got the #'s guy, people guy, GM. Now we just need the coach. |

Latest from Adam Schefter (from Twitter) regarding Shanny...
Despite speculation that Mike Shanahan could wind up in Dallas, he will not. Shanahan eyeing other situations, not the Cowboys.
|

It seems to me that Shanny is coming to us or to Seattle. Other situations for him are drying up. |
Re: Would Shanny prefer Dallas instead?
If I was Shanahan and watching the shit that is going on tonight, yes, Dallas would be a more appealing option.
|
Re: Would Shanny prefer Dallas instead?
put this in the other shanny thread meant to put it here
schefter just said on espn "take dallas out of the equationfor mike shanahan it will not happen washing ton however is very much in play" |
