Holy crap...accelerator, braking and now steering problems. What's next, seats that burst into flames?

Count me among the Japanese car fans. But if Consumer Reports backs up JD Power and other quality indicators, then I'm on board.

Consumer Reports is the main voice I'm willing to listen to because they're independently funded and thus unbiased. Ford has gotten decent quality ratings from them recently, so for my next car in a few years, I'll definitely look at Ford.

I agree with you, I like the styling of the new Fords but lets see if they are still running 5 years from now.

Should be interesting to see how they hold up longterm. Their CEO is Alan Mulally, the former head of Boeing Commercial Aviation division, so one would hope he brought some Boeing engineering knowhow along with him.

Re: Ford Tops in Vehicle Residual Value

I have had good luck with fords but I have never owned a new car because I just think its a waist of money to buy something and the minute the papper work is done its worth about $ 4000 to $6000 grand less. My dad has owned 3 new fords and he just purchased a new BUICK ENCLAVE which is really nice. He looked at the Fords but said he thought the interior felt cheap but he said some of that could have been some ford burn out and wanting something different. Good news he stayed with an American product and like it. I even purchase something made in the US today. A crab pot.
