It pains me to do it, but I gotta give props to the Georiga Bulldog Stafford. Aside from the vending machine orange sunglasses and sideways hat, he's doing pretty well for himself in that picture.

Seriously. Anyone notice the dogtag with the faux diamonds in the shape of #7 that Clausen is wearing? That's almost as big of a fail as those two beasts he's posing with. This picture alone makes me want no part of him as a Redskin.

Well I don't see the infatuation with him. IN another thread I said he didn't get ND to a bowl and he had better talent than Kafka from Northwestern, who got his team to a bowl and led the Big Ten in total offense. I know the TD/INT ratio isn't so hot, but damn he was the NW offense.

THe pic might also mean he is a down to earth guy. Do you see a USC QB or even a SEC QB want to have a pic taken with some non babes?

Dude you're reading way too far into it. He's with ugly chicks in a bar. Whatever. It's funny. I'm sure plenty of QBs all over the country pose for pictures with women of all shapes and sizes. It just so happened that these pics were posted in the chain email I got.

That said, I do NOT want him as our QB.
What are you talking about? Pro footballs aren't thinner than NFL balls!!! And small hands don't matter huh? Do you remember Danny "Woeful"? Guy had to wear gloves all the time. I don't see why the big hangup with Bradford/Clausen. A ton of good, solid QBs coming out this draft. We could draft a guy in say the 4th round and still get a great QB. There is around a dozen QBs available that have the potential to become solid pros. I rather build a great line and then draft a kid from a second tier school than waste a first round pick and not properly address the o line. Our first two picks should be o linemen. Samuels and Thomas need to retire.
Then come out and say that. No need to go into how important hand size is. I've seen it before, some people would just rather have Okung so any imperfection of other potential prospects gets blown up.

By the way which teams that have won the Super Bowl as of late had a dominant O-Line with multiple first rounders?

I've said this before but it's worth repeating. We had two bookend Tackles from 2000-early 2008 and a record below .500. In the end if Shanahan comes away thinking that Bradford or Clausen is a franchise QB we HAVE to take him.
A ton of good, solid QBs coming out this draft. We could draft a guy in say the 4th round and still get a great QB.
History says no. If you luck out then in 2 or 3 years you MIGHT get Matt Schuab (a third rounder btw) but chances are you'll end up with Charlie Frye and thats if you get a hit.

It's wrong to patronize the draft a QB crowd (a crowd that I am not exactly a part of) with "oh you could still get your QB after round 1" The QB crowd would have a much easier time turning around and telling you that we could easily find a great tackle in round 4. In part because the starting LT of the Super Bowl champions is a 4th round draft pick as is the best guard in the game.

One more thing directed towards the "don't draft a QB crowd." What were your thoughts on the QB we drafted in 2005 on draft day?

Just to clarify, that's not Tebow's girl. Thats some random girl that came up to Tebow and asked to take a photo. This is according to the great one himself. Not saying he couldn't get a girl like that, but just like the Clausen picture it's more proof of a fan friendly player then...whatever the rest of you were thinking. Now as for the pics of Sanchez and McCoy......

Dude hand size isn't important, but a pro ball is thicker than a NCAA ball. The Danny Woeful thing was for fun. I am just playing. Same thing with Jimmy and his "hogs". I am sure USC Qbs take pics with anybody that asks. Just is crazy that Clausen is the only one with ugly gals.

History says no. If you luck out then in 2 or 3 years you MIGHT get Matt Schuab (a third rounder btw) but chances are you'll end up with Charlie Frye and thats if you get a hit.

Dude the Danny Woeful thing was a total joke. I am playing. But a NFL ball is not thinner than a NCAA ball. I don't want Clausen as our QB, and the bit about his small hands was funny and just another BS reason for me not to want him. Not to mention that he can't get a pic on the net with some babes. God Damn Tebow's babe is smokin!!! And as for my thoughts about JC back in 2005? Like any draftee, it is a gamble, and to be honest I thought Gibbs took a gamble on JC. JC and his Auburn team were stacked with 2 first round RBs and one helluva O line. Was it JC or was it because he was flodded with talent around him? That is why I am not so sure about the likes of a Tebow or Bradford. The NFL is all about parity these days, unless you are lucky to be on one of the elite teams left in the league. We should keep JC because he has survived many systems and does seem to be getting better statistically. Plus you have to think Collins is toast. I don't trust MR Hawaii at all. He was a cheap gamble for sure.

Those "elite" teams frequently are elite because they have QB's who were taken high (Manning, Rivers, etc.)
Those "elite" teams almost all have QB's who were taken high.
Favre and Brady weren't. And as for those elite teams, they are all stacked with talent also. It is like what came first, the chicken or the egg. Do you think Peyton Manning could make the Detroit Lions winners? Brady inherited a stacked team from Bledsoe, plus probably the best FO in football at the time. Plus you probably missed my other thread posts about the second tier team QBs. Brees was from Purdue. Favre was from Ole Miss, Manning was from Tennessee. All good teams for sure, but not the powerhouse caliber of Florida, Bama, or Oklahoma. Those 3 made there respective teams better and faced tough competiton, thus in my mind making them better suited for the parity of the NFL. The only successful contemporary NFL QB that came from a big program was Brady, and he was a 6th round pick. In short, these QBs from the NCAA superpowers are spoiled and might have a rougher time making it in the NFL than a guy that played around a less talented team, but still was a winner nonetheless.

Not at all a foregone conclusion. I'm still hearing that if not Bradford then Charles Brown is their top choice. But to me that means they must be thinking trade down. Because I really can't see them taking Brown at #4.

Now if they stay at 4 and Bradford is gone then I think they're going with Okung or Davis before Clausen.

That could always change though. It's not even March

There have been reports that his attitude could use a little makeover. I realize the guy's young and has a lot of maturing to do. When there's controversy surrounding any individual there's always going to be pro's and cons, some say good, some say not so good. Ok. Fair enough.

I suppose the gist of my clumsy question is what separates Bradford (draftable at #4) from Clausen (not as draftable at #4) in the minds of Shanahallen.
