I wouldn't exactly say he provides a negative public face for the school. Sure I hate that he's a Cowboy, and he's clearly not well-spoken or very intelligent, but he's not a bad guy off the field, and is an NFL hall of famer. But if I was trying to market a UF education, I certainly wouldn't mention Emmitt.

I think right now the face of UF is without question Tim Tebow. His big toe is smarter than Emmitt.

I knew where he went to school and so do some other folks. For anyone who knows where he went to school, he is poor advertising for a UF education. Besides, the question asked above, "Where did he go to school?," has been asked by many people for years, not for the last time. Any time someone "debacles" a college education like Emmitt has, questions arise.

Hell I thought he went to Miami. A car passed me today with University of Miami flags on it and the first thing I thought of was Emmitt Smith because of reading this thread this morning. Slipped my mind he went to Florida.

Well if what DS said was true (that he met Emmitt once in 2000) what gives Emmitt the right to speak to Dan's character in public? I highly doubt that ES is spending time reading the Washington Post regarding the team raping its fans so what the hell is he basing it on?

I think Dan Snyder's treatment of club seat ticket holders is unscrupulous but it sure seems like a lot of his players and coaches would take a bullet for him. I also thought he was a piece of sh-- for meddling and ruining the team over the last decade but it seems like he has taken a step back. He deserves credit for that.

What language/dialiect does Emmitt Speak exactly? I've heard some people refer to it as ebonics but at the same time it just doesn't feel like ebonics, at least to me. Maybe it's more of a combination of ebonics and an attempt to sound educated. Like a weird fusion of a drunk english professor and a drug dealer.

I think Emmit is an idiot but DS' specific response was stupid. No need to go down to that level and take cheap shots. If you are really a man of character just say you are surprised a HOF back of Emmit's caliber would resort to such personal attacks, you are disappointed he feels that way, state you are a good person, and wish Emmit the best.

Much classier. Of course Dan has to take shots as usual. Even though its not at the same level reminds me of the whole L. Coles, you are gonna sit at home and watch thing(not sure exactly what it was).

I swear, following Snyder reminds me of watching wrestling in Middle school. For a couple of years or so you get a guy thats played the role of a heel, then eventually one days the writers just decide that it's time to change the persons image a little and in turn they become a fan favorite. Snyder kind of reminds me of that as he's now clearly becoming a fan favorite.

Emmitt is bootleg for real. Listening to Mike Wise today and he said that he was taken out of context and didn't meant it the way that it was said. They gave hima chance to say that he meant what he said and he backtracked for about 5 mins.

I'm actually supprised this topic has been at the top of the board for so long. I can't stand any of the Dallas Cowboy players. Never liked any of them. Oh I respect their talent but don't want to hear them speak. If they are on the radio I change the station. If they are on t.v. I don't watch it. Probably why I haven't watched Dancing with the Stars a whole lot is due to Emmit and Irvin.

This topic came up and heard all the fuss then heard that people were taking it the wrong way that Emmit meant that he always wanted to beat Snyder meaning the Cowboys winning a game over the Skins not truly fighting Snyder and kicking his butt. Heard Emmitt on Boomer and Carton on the Fan (in New York) this morning and he said he was just trying to say he heard from someone else that he's not a nice person. But then he went on to say he's met Snyder once or twice and thought he was a short guy who probably has a Napoleon complex and likes to spend money on players. Very astute dude!

He also added that it seems that Snyder has changed with the new management he's brought in and isn't the same owner he probably was 10 years ago

Wow! Look at this rush to Dan Snyder's side. Beautiful.

Sure it sucks hearing about Snyder from a Cowboy, but like Emmitt, we also called Snyder an arrogant tyrant who doled out cash to unmotiavated slugs (cough-Haynesworth-cough). We chanted "SELL THE TEAM." We stormed Facebook and set up I Hate Snyder-Darth Snyder-Sack Snyder websites and petitions. I know I signed a couple. Guess the dawn of Shanny and Allen has made it all a fleeting memory.
