I'd trade down to 7 with them and pick up a couple of their 3rd rounders
If I were Shan-allen I'd do that in less time that it took to take Orakpo! I've been hoping for a trade down out of #4 just in order to get more! Even then, I wouldn't stick at #7. If the right trade offer came, I'd move down 6-10 spots more for even more draft picks. Again, I bring up Orakpo. Who wouldn't want his clone at the #13 spot, or an OL as his equal in value? |
Re: Report: Quinn Traded to Broncos
I'd say Orton will be gone, I thought he did pretty good last yr.
Orton is in a very similar situation right now to Campbell. He had a respectable QB rating but seemed to do it with a lot of short passes. Both QB's ironically have strong arms. Basically you end up wondering if you could do better. |
Re: Report: Quinn Traded to Broncos
We should be actively shopping Cooley...we have so many holes to fill and so few picks. We don't have the luxury of keeping them both without at least trying to move one. It's like having a Porsche in the driveway while the roof of your house is caved in and your kids are wearing ripped clothes.

Orton's restricted right? And this just means we're one step closer to getting Chris Simms!...(I hope not) |

I'm more ticked off Peyton Hillis isn't going to be a Skin.

I think Denver made a good move, i don't like Orton think he sucks.

Re: Report: Quinn Traded to Broncos
I wound'nt say JC is not liked around the league, it's just these certain teams wan't a different direction than Campbell. Actually multiple sources have said the Bills are very interested in Campbell
None of the teams atop the draft order would likely be interested in dealing for Campbell because they aren't going to surrender their 1st round pick for him. Come draft day, a few teams in the bottom third of the order could be interested because the the compensation for them would not be as steep as it would be for teams picking in the top third. On the other hand, teams picking low in the order are not looking for QB's. |
Re: Report: Quinn Traded to Broncos
I think this is a good move for denver, Cleveland..??not really. I think
Quinn was the best QB on that roster with wallace, delhomme and ratliff. Browns got a good deal out of wimbley though. I wonder if quinn would have been good in shanahans offense? |
Re: Report: Quinn Traded to Broncos
To see all these moves that Cleveland is making, it's kind of interesting to wonder if this is how aggressive Holmgren would be here if we, like many on here wanted, named him our team president.

Re: Report: Quinn Traded to Broncos
Great trade by Denver, they didn't give much. Don't laugh but this change of scenery is going to be great for Quinn and Denver, McDaniel will know what to do with him.

Re: Report: Quinn Traded to Broncos
Campbell getting crapped on in a Brady Quinn traded thread?
*cries in corner* I don't like this trade for the Broncos, I love it. I previously had projected Clausen to be headed there at No. 11, but this trade costs them only a pair of late rounders (unless Quinn is wildly successful, in which case, who cares), and then gives them the ability, but not the necessity, to bypass taking Clausen at No. 11 if he is there in search of better value. I wouldn't be shocked if they took him anyway in that situation, but that's the beauty of this deal: they can defer to the big board instead of picking for need. From the Cleveland end, well, now you're even more dependent on making sure the quarterback you get in the draft is really to play by Delhomme's 10th INT (week 3). If they don't take Clausen at No. 7 because they don't like him after tape evaluation, will Zac Robinson or Dan Lefevour be ready to play by October (McCoy could fall to them in the second as well)? That might end up being their best bet. |
Re: Report: Quinn Traded to Broncos
Denver fans were actually discussing a month back (I think it might have been discussed here to) a Marshall/Quinn swap. Obviously Cleveland would have had to throw in a draft pick or two but the point was that both Marshall and Quinn were going to switch jerseys.
|
Re: Report: Quinn Traded to Broncos
With all the short passes Denver throws this is probably the best place for Quinn to land. But I simply don't think Denver still has a 16 game starter with Quinn or Orton.

Eh...better make that a 3rd and a 4th rounder. Don't think one would get 2 picks in the 3rd round for dropping 3 spots. |

One could, especially when one pick would be a the top of the 3rd round and the other toward the bottom |
Re: Report: Quinn Traded to Broncos
Good deal for the Browns.
Glad he's not coming here...I saw him last season on MNF for he was absolutely horrid. He wasn't just having a bad game, he was throwing screen passes into the stands. It was beyond just having a bad night. That game: http://www.thewarpath.net/redskins-locker-room/33401-week-10-around-nfl-manning-vs-2.html#post626633 |

Between their two new QBs, Cleveland could be better off letting Cribbs play QB full time in the wildcat. |

When have the Browns EVER had a QB worth anything without going back to the ORIGINAL Browns and Bernie Kosar? Really, the biggest career killer for a QB is playing in Cleveland. |

Hillis is a playmaker given the right environment. Sadly, Mccrapniels wanted to give him a last parting gift by sending him off to be Jerome Harrison's FB. NOT FAIR.

Re: Report: Quinn Traded to Broncos
Quinn definitely needed a change of scenery and it was clear last year that he was not Mangini's guy.
Not sure why any deal involving a QB has to relate back to JC, but hey, keep on hatin'! :goodjob: |

I realize that JC is the best QB on the current roster, ergo, our best option presently,(and I have stated so, more than once for the last 2 years). That being said, I'm not happy about it, and I'm sure that came across in my post. As to why it related back to JC, I believe Audi asked the question of Quinn's signing in Denver and other questionable QB signings around the league being an "indictment" of the league's view of JC. I answered yes, and I stand by my opinion. |
Re: Report: Quinn Traded to Broncos
In fairness, I mentioned Campbell in the original post so I'll take the bullet for this one.

What about Derrick Anderson? I wouldn't mind having him here as camp fodder at the least.

I can see Simms here as some camp competition/potential veteran backup to a rookie starter in 2010 (if it comes to that)

Re: Report: Quinn Traded to Broncos
I like the trade down scenario if Bradford is gone and QB needy teams like Seahawks might trade up to #4 and take Clausen. As much as I like Okung as our future LT, trading down is a better option if we can land Bulaga or Davis at #7 (not that big of a drop off from Okung) while getting an extra 3rd round.
However, if we bypass Clausen, then we need to hold onto JC. Starting Brennan or Chris Simms or Colt Mccoy is a great way to cement our place in the NFC east cellar. I am also not a fan of trading Cooley, who is a great redskin player on and off the field. We have loud mouths and prima donnas on the team yet we trade away a hardworking and good team player. Doesn't seem right. |
