Porter and his buddy were leaving a bar or something like that, in separate cars. His buddy was pulled over for alleged drunk driving, Porter pulled up right behind the cop car to see what was going on and that's when the cop smelled alcohol on Porter's breath.
And contract talks is not necessarily the same thing as offering a contract
ok cool. i read that joey was a passenger in a car pulled over. i thought we offered joey a contract, he called AZ and they met or beat our offer. so we didnt offer him a k? |

Best I can recall, Porter and the Redskins spoke about a contract, but it was obvious from the get go all he wanted was to play for the Cardinals. I don't think there was serious interest on either side really. |
Re: Joey Porter arrested in California
i understand that there are some bad cops out there, but that doesn't mean that ALL of them are. regardless, it doesnt give anyone the right to disobey a police officer. if a cop has a power trip, then why on earth would you act in such a way to disrespect him? thats just asking for trouble. if a cop tells you to get out of the car, you do it. if you physically assault a police officer in any way (whether its slapping a hand or spitting on him or anything more severe), then 1) you're an idiot and 2) you're lucky if you dont get the crap beat out of you.

Boy am I glad i didn't pass judgement to fast. :spank: |
Re: Joey Porter arrested in California
So again the question goes to how many times this happens when it's NOT high profile, and would charges have been dropped then? hmmm

Re: Joey Porter arrested in California
It seems obvious to me that Porters celebrity got him out of this one.

I'm sure most people saw this, especially those of you who are local. These effing cops should go to jail.
Bet they didn't know the victim's grandfather is a retired a judge. Oops. Buncha bullies. I really just don't care for the police. Officer Suspended, Others Could Be Fired in Brutality Case | ABC 7 News |

They employ several murderers, in fact, they promote them. This guy got off easy compared to a lot of their victims. |

This is the sworn statement of charges against McKenna by the police alleges assault on a police officer and disorderly conduct. It claims McKenna "struck those officers and their horses causing minor injuries," and that McKenna was "kicked by the horses and sustained minor injuries."" Every single cop that was present and did not report what happened should be fired. |

The fact that this beating happened is just awful, compound that with the lies told in the police reports and this whole thing becomes a catastrophe. That kid did nothing. Absolutely nothing. This is Rodney King style shit. That video angers me big time. I hope those cops get some serious assault charges thrown in their direction. I was watching the late local news tonight, and a spokesman from the PG police department said he wanted everyone to know that they received threats of violence via telephone from all over the country. Awww. Poor PG PD. I feel so sorry for you that someone called your department with a threat. My heart breaks for you. Scumbags. |
Re: Joey Porter arrested in California
Yeah, imagine how often this shit happens when it's not on camera. Kicked by a horse? come on.. at least be realistic.
Yeah who cares if they received threats of violence, they beat up a defenseless kid. You're cops, you protect people (or are supposed to) including yourselves. They deserve some violence back at them. |

The problem is that they can kill you and get away with it, and they wouldn't think twice. |

Not only do you have violent, pathological liars sporting your badge and gun, but they are dumb as a box of rocks as well. Pretty scary. |

Seriously.. at least say kid was jumped from behind and the cops just rushed in to stop it, not that I condone those pigs lying.. what's ridiculous is how many cops jump in, shows that it's a broader mentality than just one wackjob.. I mean even when the other cops rushed off they need to pull the offending cops off |

never knew it was that bad since I never lived in MD before and generally didn't read the Metro section of the post when I was in NoVA I'm assuming that most of this happens in the heights and suitland, etc right? either way it's horrific |

Yeah. I mean, 2 or 3 guys went to town on this kid, but there were at least a dozen other cops seen throughout the video that just let it happen. Speaks to massive fail. |

It is a very good piece. The worst story, IMO, described when they killed a mentally retarded person in his home. His mother called the police because he had picked up a knife. When they arrived, she begged the officers not to hurt him. A little while later he was carried out in a body bag. The post researched what happened to officers who were responsible for deaths. Many of them received multiple promotions and some of those officers had killed on more than one occasion. They do not play around. |
