I thought it was Antonio at first glance...whew...we don't need/want him. Let the Bungles keep him.
This guy is not worth a thread, he most likely won't even make the team and if he does, won't last the year. He never stays long where he goes...NJ Giants cut him after 3 months.
say that to his face and when did the NY Giants become the NJ Giants??? |

Re: Redskins Sign DT Anthony Bryant
It looks like they are building competition for the nose tackle position. They have Kemoeatu, Montgomery, and now Bryant to fight for 2 spots as a NT. Golston could also play Nose on passing downs. They could move Haynesworth all over on the line to give him some mismatches.
Losing Haynesworth would crush our D-line. I am ok with a 3-4, but we have to keep Albert, or this could be a complete disaster. |

Re: Redskins Sign DT Anthony Bryant
I found an interesting write-up on Mr. Bryant from USA Today for the 05 draft.
I'd link it but I'm new to the board and a hamstrung rookie. Maybe someone else can. Kinda interesting quote from the analysis: "He has been only an adequate performer throughout his career and with his size and strength, might be better suited for nose guard or switch to the offensive line. " Finally: \o/ First post on the Warpath! |

Competition is good as long he doesn't eat himself out of the league or his fellow competitors.

I don't think so. Lived in Colorado for over 15 years so I'm a Redskins fan in an island of Broncos and Cowboys (lotsa Texas transplants here) fans except for a once a year pilgrimage to catch a home game with my brother. It's why I needed to find a Skins forum to join. :) Thanks for the welcome. Back on topic: Yeah, my cynical fan side says "camp fodder". My irrepressible optimist fan side says "Shanny and Allen Jr. are looking to rub every other GM in the division's nose in it by taking cast offs and polishing them up and making them shine." Can't wait for the games this season. |
Re: Redskins Sign DT Anthony Bryant
Sign em all, get 200 guys in camp and let'em scrum it out. Bound to get 53 good players out of it.

The tale of the tape: Agility tests: 5.22 in the 40-yard dash...505-pound bench press...775-pound squat...380-pound power clean...415-pound incline press...29 -inch arm length...8 -inch hands...Right-handed... 15/24 Wonderlic score. The guy can squat, and press, but apparently no motor. He looks like a heart attack waiting to happen. 5.22 in the 40, geez, I'm nearly 60 yrs. old, and can do that. Instead of eating little kids, maybe he needs to stoke up on some plain salad, hold the dressing. |

curious if this mean AH is on the block?
would you guys like a first rounder for him? or would you rather keep him? |
curious if this mean AH is on the block?
curious if this mean AH is on the block?
would you guys like a first rounder for him? or would you rather keep him?
This is a copy of message I wrote 53Fan a few days ago. And is why I can't conceive of trading him for a 1st, 2nd or 3rd rounder... Quote: "Hey man. What do you think of the possibility of trading AH? The way I see it is... If AH was available in the draft, wouldn't any team take him 1st round? YES they would! So why would we trade him for a 3rd? As has been suggested by some. Or even a 1st if it was offered." I'm Looking for a good answer to that question. By those willing to trade him. |

Re: Redskins Sign DT Anthony Bryant
I know about Anthony Bryant. He had one of the top strength stats in Madden forever, so I would just get him as a cheap and available option.

He's never been on a team with Andre Carter and Brian Orakpo. Won't be the strongest here. |

He was just "one" of the tops. I haven't played madden in 3 years so I don't know what's going on there anymore. Of course, Bryant had a speed rating in the mid 40s so he never did much damage. |

Re: Redskins Sign DT Anthony Bryant
honestly one of the best ideas i've heard in a while...why the f not ? ? ?
Because there is an NFL rule limiting the number of people a team may have in camp and under contract at any given time. Other than that, why the f not? |

Re: Redskins Sign DT Anthony Bryant
He sure was a beast against the Giants that last game. I think we need to keep our options open at NT but he should certainly be in the mix next year as a reserve.
|
Re: Redskins Sign DT Anthony Bryant
He is a good back up NT, but not a starter. We need to draft a NT or get Aubrayo Franklin in Free Agency.
|
Re: Redskins Sign DT Anthony Bryant
I'm not sure we can just write him off as a starter. He certainly played like one in that Giants game and in general he was very good when he got his chance.
