I heard Microsoft actually built the repair center next to a UPS shipping center to cut down on costs.
UPS Distribution Center has been in Redmond since I've been here and is very close to Microsoft HQ. I had to get my xbox cd drive fixed about two weeks ago and the guy who fixed it for me said that MS has improved the turnaround...it now takes 3 weeks. |
Re: Madden 2011
I played a game last night on Demo. I'm not sure what difficulty level it's set to, but it was far too easy. I think I beat the Jets 63 - 3 playing as the Mannings. Running was improved, acceleration felt realistic, kind of had a gradual feel to it and with Addai I wasn't getting chased down by D-ends and LB's on break away runs. The sideline and endzone catch AI is much better. Holy shit I can actually throw a fade route in the back corner, only took what, 10 years for that to happen? Receivers do all they can to stay inbounds... definitely showed some promise. When playing defense, it seemed like the offense was up to the line and snapping the ball before you can make any adjustments via the strategy pad...but that could be realistic, since they were playing from behind and were in hurry up. I'd have to play through a few more times, but gameplay wise, not bad.

Re: Madden 2011
Amazing that it's taken this long to get receivers to try to stay inbounds or drag their feet.

I think the default setting is Pro, which is ridiculously easy. |

I bet they do that so people feel like hey this will be an easy version or basically not get fustrated with it. I played the NCAA demo with Miami and won 31-3 and it was 2 minute quarters! I believe I ran back 3 TD's from fumbles and interceptions. |
I hate it when they change up the buttons, seems pretty clear they're trying to cater more to the casual fan. I don't mind the change to the kicking, it was almost too easy.
All the pre-snap adjustments are now apparently mapped to the d-pad, and the early reviews aren't good Madden 11 Demo Raises Concerns With Strategy Pad | GoMadden
I had a much longer post but I lost it. Essentially I said that I hate it when the developers make changes for the sake of change rather than for true game enhancement. Geeks really piss me off sometimes. |
Re: Madden 2011
So I am assuming we will be setting up Madden leagues with 2011, is the consistencies to use Xbox, if so I will buy a Xbox version.
|
Re: Madden 2011
I played last night on all-madden setting. Is it me or has the running game has gotten easier? They still have too many cut scenes...the in game ads are kinda annoying...the pre-snap adjustment changes are god awful. I hope can change that.

Re: Madden 2011
I just played at lunch on PS3, seems cool if we are doing a league this year I will buy it.

Re: Madden 2011
A post launch patch will be adding back in the option for the normal audible adjustments so I'm now sold.

What are you waiting for Matty.......... let's start drafting teams
|
Re: Madden 2011
I read the blog from Ian Cummings regarding the pre-snap changes and it makes sense. I'll give the new system a shot, but it's good to know the old way will be patched in for the hardcore guys.

Everyone else I would beat down like they stole something. I even creamed Florida. Pro is far too easy. |

True but at the same time I don't have to initially be entirely happy about it. I will probably get used to thew new way by the time they make the fix available. I bet that's what they are hoping for and why they are waiting for the start of the season. By then most of us will have completed an entire Madden season or more under the new controls. |

^ I read it yesterday. The pic gallery blow my mind how crappy the graphics use tobe.
So wahts the deal are we running Madden Leagues again this year with 11? I am on the fence with either to get Xbox or PS3. |
Re: Madden 2011
We'll be on the 360

Re: Madden 2011
Seems like you have one of the better leagues going. 360 it is for me.

Re: Madden 2011
Still wish Madden had some direct competition. I don't buy EA Sports party line where they say "our competition is games like Halo" especially when they can't even make better then the third best sports game in their own company (FIFA and NHL are more highly regarded from an actual game perspective, not to be confused with sales). I will say though that Madden has gotten much better, starting with last years version.

I don't understand why they havent applied phot game face feature to created players in Madden. You can say what you want but everybody secretly plays an offline Franchise with characters of their likeness. |

Didn't know they were going to have the COOOOOOO after Cooley making plays. Pretty awesome to hear.

Or Hail to the Redskins. However you know what is missing? Ryan Torain, Terrance Austin, Erik Cook, Selish Capers, Will Robinson, Vonnie Holiday, Anthony Bryant, John Beck, and many more. I really wish they would at least make all the rookies that were drafted, if for nothing more then to put them in the free agent pool. I also hate how they handle O-Line subs. You can't set up your own personel packages before the game, yet for some reason Offensie Lineman are rotated, which in the NFL rarely happens. I remember just now coming up for a play thinking "wow, they sure made Trent Williams pale. Is he white?" only to realize I was looking at Clint Oldenburg. Also I don't know if anyone else will notice but Fred Davis is extremely skinny. |
Re: Madden 2011
What's really a joke though is the Hail to the Redskins. They don't play the whole song and then after FIGHT FOR OLD D.C, they have the RAH RAH RAH. I mean how do you screw that up honestly?
|
Re: Madden 2011
This game SUCKS online and until a patch comes out I'm not going to play online again. First off, not that this should surprise anyone, online is terrible as usual. I don't understand how NCAA 11 can be lag free online, day the game comes out or not, yet Madden never can be, it's simply a joke. Kickoff returns in Madden, I had 3 returned on me, I kicked it down the middle, to the sideline and a squib kick, all returned.
The stadium audio sucks too. I mean the Redskins song isn't that hard. HAIL TO THE REDSKINS, HAIL VICTORY, BRAVES ON THE WARPATH, FIGHT FOR OLD D.C, RUN OR PASS AND SCORE AND WE WANT A LOT MORE.....etc Yet after the FIGHT FOR OLD D.C they add RAH RAH RAH? RAH RAH RAH doesn't come till after the SONS OF WASHINGTON part. There's no defense in this game, it's just an offense shootout and that's it. What the hell is with the no ranked matches with friends? Honestly? Game is just a joke so far, till a patch comes out it's not even worth bothering with online. I say I'm not going to buy Madden every year, but honestly, I don't think I'm going to buy this game ever again. Would rather save my $60 for other games. |
Re: Madden 2011
Oh yeah, I forgot to add how I punted to my friend, ball didn't hit him or anyone else. Ball hits the ground, I get it to stop the ball, yet they act like it's a fumble and the possession is given to me.
|
Re: Madden 2011
InsaneBoost, are you playing on XBox? I finally broke down and got the XBox version of the game instead of PS3 hoping there's more competition to play against online. It's the same ol' EA...f'ing spend their time adding features so the game appeals to the casual gamer instead of releasing a product that's that isn't buggy or remotely better than the previous version.
God damn you NFL and EA! Damn you tell. p.s. I've tried the both the XBox demo and PS3 demo and the game seems to have higher resolution texture on the PS3. |

oh these reviews are making the 3 twenties in my wallet sink back in.

>= 8.5 mostly and no lower than a B+ Seems like the consensus is it's a B+/A- game |

You didn't hear about the new rule? Onside punts? |
Re: Madden 2011
I haven't played video games regularly in about 16 years (since around sophomore year of high school), so I could give an ish about Madden. But the 2010 season hasn't started yet, so why is this Madden 2011, not 2010?

Honest question for someone who is out of the loop. The year on the madden box is always one year in advance. Honestly, i dont know why they do that...anyone care to answer? |
