Yes its Billy's Seafood off Colington Road (252) 441-5978. I'm sure they have live crabs but your probably going to pay $100 for a bushell if not more. On the way into Nags Head you may come across a few people selling crabs on the side of the road. As far as surfing its been so long sense I have been out serching for waves I have no clue where to tell you to go. If I remember correctly there is a science lab/pier down in corolla and thats where we surf back in the 80's. Now days if the waves are not breaking at the cottage we don't go serching. You can always take a trip down to Hatteras looking for waves.
atleast you stick to your guns :)

yeah i figured around 100 or so but if i have ten people throwing in it won't be that bad

hopefully the effects of el nino (which is spanish for the nino) might give us some decent waves, i'm gonna rent a surf board and give it a shot again, even if i don't find any waves i have no other way of playing beer pong in the pool

Those soft boards are hard to ride but they are better then nothing. El Nimo does not effect the waves only the currents so that will not help any. There are some waves down there today as I talked to my buddy and they found some about cest high. Here is a surf report from NH.

Should be some longboard waves over the weekend, but ankle slappers until well past Thursday.

There is a place here in Frederick that is doing $100 bushels, so you figure maybe $120 down on the shore. But as you said, between 10 people, you can't go wrong with a bushel of crabs and some cold beer.

I'm going to head down to D.C to watch Rolling Thunder, have done it every year since I was in 7th grade minus a couple due to rain and last year due to a Nationals game. Always touching seeing all the veterans out there riding for the MIA and POW's.

This year they are expecting over 400,000 motorcycles, just plain crazy.

Looks like the two BBQ's I'm heading to on Monday will be a full on blast. Soft shell crabs, shrimp, steaks, chicken, pork, side items galore, kegs... Can't wait. I plan on passing out around 9pm in my American Flag t-shirt with a full on beer/food coma.

Anyone else really irked that Lord Obama is skipping the service at Arlington National Cemetery? Bothers the ish outta me.

dude f you bro.. just on the first paragraph though

saw a guy in a red white and blue skins t today at work.. asked him where he got it.. he kind of sheepishly said "walmart" and I was like don't have any shame bro, I asked cuz I want it too (I mean I didn't, but it looked cool)

obama did arlington last year, it's not like he's completely ignoring it, biden will be at arlington, obama will be at the lincoln memorial cemetery

it's really not a huge deal.. if we really looked at symbolism in the presidency (and didn't overlook the most vacation time taken in history.. even counting the early presidents who just did whatever on the whim) we'd all love G-Dub, he could show it up with the best of them when it came to pride

I didn't know that. Fair enough. But I'm with you. If I'm the president I'm at every one.
you know of any good places down there to surf? last year we tried a few spots not much luck though. there isn't much in corolla, they just put a harris tetter in a few years back and they have one decnt shopping center noithing like nags head though

just googled bill's seafood and came back as billy's seafood in kill devil hills. is that the one you are talking about? you know if they have live crabs there? i would love to find some reasonably priced bushells so i can take my steamer down there and have a good old crab feast
Not sure about corolla but on Sat. & Sunday the waves around the 8 mile post were around chest high and very clean. The water was cold as hell but I could stay out for about an hour. My 3 yr. old last year was scared of the ocean but this weekend we had to drag her out of the water.

I basically sat at this spot on U street from noon until 9 at night with about ten friends. Tons of beer, Bloody Mary's, wine and whatever else I could get my hands on. Good times.

We had a great day yesterday. Went to the gym in the morning, then headed to a friend's house around 3:30. Kick ass BBQ. The highlights were softshell crab sandwiches and a vicious corn-hole tournament. Good stuff. My buddy's place is 100% solar powered. Pretty cool.

I drank a lot of beer. Paying for it a bit today, but it was worth it.

Re: Memorial day plans?

Our club had opening day at the pool yesterday and we came home from the beach to go to opening day and their cookout. Well after the dads had a few too many we had a diving contest of "Can You Do This". Thats when someone tries a flip or something and everyone else has to give it a try. Well that just lead to a bunch of belly flops and back busters. The funny thing was it started with 4 of us and before you knew it about 12 of us where trying to do flips and dives as everyone else sat around and laughing at us.

LOL. That's too funny. Sounds like a great time.

God bless all of our servicemen and women around the world who afford all of us the opportunity to enjoy things like pool parties and BBQ's. And a special thanks to their families as well. Your sacrifices are amazing. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I don't surf so I don't know if they were ride-able or whatever but they made swimming less than fun. but by the end of the week they were decent.

I'm headed back down to the Outer Banks in about 3 weeks and I can't wait!!! Just like last year I'm going down with about 15 friends to stay at one of the big rentals. We'll be in Nags Head (I think) and the house looks awesome. I doubt we'll hit up too many bars or anything which is fine by me since the house has a kegerator and we'll have plenty of booze. Plus, I'll have a week out of the office, so I got that going for me, which is nice.

If you do go out and hit bars don't drink and drive. Nags Head is the king at DUI's. Back in the early 80's 60 minutes did a segment on Nags Head and DUI's and that's because they where so tough on them back then. Get a cab or walk. Last June produced some great surfing with several storms staying off shore and driving in the big waves. Our place is right at the 8 mile marker in Nags Head.

trip was awesome i was torn up(in a good way) the entire week. and i definitley found some waves. i was in whale head and there was a really nice sand bar that me and my buddy found, they weren't huge by any means but with a 10 foot board it was pretty nice.

the house we stayed in was pretty nice, it had a sick ass theater room i wish it would have been football season cause a 100"+ hd picture is awesome. we did have one problem with our septic tank though, and hoepfully next year will be free once all is said and done. best part of the whole trip was no traffic there or back

The trip to Nags Head is much better after they opened up the Chesapeake Bypass or what ever they call it. Up until 10 years ago it was a single lane road to nags head after you get off 64. Now most of the trafic issues are from Williamsburg to the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel.
