When I was in Ocean City over the weekend the temp was 84-85. As soon as I crossed over the Annapolis bay bridge the temp jumped to 95 and continued to rise. This is freakin insane.

Yeah, I have to admit, I'd take 100 degrees over even just 3 inches of snow. I friggin hate snow.

I can't say I hate snow , just that 3 major storms in one season is far too much . I would rather have warm weather , now I just need to save some $$$ so I can get a pool one day .

Yup. I'm a DC native, but after 8 years in the low-lying swamps of central Florida, I laugh at people around here. Try late August/early September in Gainesville if you want hot. And the humidity is just retarded down there. 95 up here is a far cry from 95 down there.

This weather is too hot for me. You can't do anything outside. It's hot day and night. Our area (Winchester/Stephens City), hasn't seen a drop of rain in 6 weeks, so I haven't had to mow grass for more than a month.

The almanac and some old guys i work with say that this summer is supposed to be the worst drought in over 500 years. yay. And the guy i work beside says that the next precipitation we get will be in the form of snow showers.

And right now, the way things are, i'd love to have some cold and snow. I'm like others....my body aches for October and the cool weather that goes with us. I officially hate summer. Especially since it stayed in the 20's up until May here, and then we get this....totaly BS. I hate summer.

When people talk about Seattle they talk about the greater Seattle area which consists of smaller cities along with the city of Seattle. Seattle proper is considered the Westside. Lots of corporate presence there and most of the fishing and shipping industry is there. You got the Eastside (Bellevue, Redmond, Issaquah, Kirkland) where all the yuppie-techy types work and rich folks live. You got the Northside (Everett, Lynwoood) where Boeing's main operation is and consists of mostly working class neighborhoods. You got the the Southside (Renton, Tukwila, Auburn and Federal Way) which are also working class and have heavy Boeing/Industrial presence. Recently Paul Allen and co started to slowly gentrify the Southside and prices are creeping up.

The really bad parts are unincorporated areas like Skyway and White Center and the best part Eastside (Bellevue being the best IMO). From Bellevue you can literally get anywhere worth going within 20 minutes. Seattle proper is nice too but it has its bad areas...it just depends how much you want to pay and if you want to be able to walk to the grocery store. Everett and Federal Way are considered the start of boondocks.

Kent is Southside...between Renton and Auburn. Lots of Boeing folks live there and it's a nice place to live. Most people who live there commute to Seattle or Eastside for work (about 40 min commute on a car about 25 min on the express bus). Home prices there are relatively low compared to Eastside or Seattle. You can definitely find a spacious home in the 300K range.

That's cool. I've been all over this country, but one area I've never made it to is the Pacific NW. Need to get out there sometime.

When I first moved to Florida it took me a long time to get used to how few houses have basements and second/third floors. Sooo many one floor houses. It's just much more economical to keep cool. I'm a northern boy. All the houses have A/C and heat, and basements too.
