Re: Madden 11 player ratings: Redskins
Well it is a timeless rant that is still very funny.
It's somewhat funny. I guess not really anymore to me just because I've seen it so many times. I mean if he actually wrote it I might still find it funny. |
Re: Madden 11 player ratings: Redskins
I think I only read that one time, and I hadn't seen it in awhile so I threw it up for those who may be to lazy to click the link.
If Ethan had wrote it, now then it would be timeless! I have avoided the Madden Ratings threads over the years. Although I am a big fan of Madden, but I agree with others on the site it needs a big overhaul as far as how they could use the engine in the 360 and the ps3. The game could be huge, and instead of buying it each year they could just give us an upgrade as that is all the new ones ever are. The never changes much, just minor tweaks nothing serious as far as the look or play. |
Re: Madden 11 player ratings: Redskins
I would bet that's because he's listed as a DE. If you move him to DT his rating would probably go up. Same if you move Orakpo to DE.
I don't care what he wants AH is playing the nose in my D. :)
What about Kemo at the NT spot? I like AH at the DE spot. |
Re: Madden 11 player ratings: Redskins
Who is C. Oldenburg on the OL?
Where is Capers and Cook? Madden never quite gets the rookies right. Also is Landry really an 89 after last years performances. He got burnt like toast!
Remember Madden 2011 releases Aug 12 so they make the team rosters on speculation who they think will make the team. If you play online the update roster throughout entire seasons. |
Re: Madden 11 player ratings: Redskins
Colt is very accuarate, actually, and McNabb will over throw a wide open receiver by ten yards, so ya thats fairly accuarate of a rating.
Landry is a very good strong safety, but free safety he is bad. I think this rating is because madden believes he'll be a strong safety with us.
The QB rating is best on short, middle, and long range. Colt is more accurate in the short range. McNabb is better long range when rated. |
Re: Madden 11 player ratings: Redskins
Game has been sucking for the past 5 years IMO. Wish they would actually work on things, like the tackling etc. I like that the stadiums are nice and all, but I mean, it's more about the game. I'm tired of seeing the same three tackles for the most part.
Speaking of stadiums, wonder if they'll have the updated screens and party decks.
Please Madden has come a long way since sega and ps1 and ps 2 days. I play online only and it has made a big jump in the last 2 years. |
Re: Madden 11 player ratings: Redskins
Ratings are so subjective. One person's 85 is another's 80. I just think it's fun to talk about. I know some people get all fired up about it, but it's really silly since they end up getting updated as the season goes on.
I agree and it's no more different than people projecting fantasy football players value before the seasons start. |
Re: Madden 11 player ratings: Redskins
This is my biggest gripe with Madden, but I think it applies to the running game as well. On All-Madden difficulty, guys rarely hold a block, break a tackle or catch a pass. It's still possible to dominate, but it's so frustrating when your entire offensive line of 90+ guys collapses on every play.
So, I just play it on All-Pro. I usually win by a margin of 80+, but now it's more about godly stats and than actually winning. My biggest win was 150-0 (against the Cowboys), I have thrown for over 1,000 yards in a single game, and I have tallied 15 sacks by a single player in a single game (all on All-Pro). Anyone else have some crazy achievements?
Why dont you get online and go head 2 head against other ballers. Thats when you have to be able to scheme and call a game plan. |
Re: Madden 11 player ratings: Redskins
Madden still best all time sports video game ever. The most realistic football game and keeps getting better. Yea it's not perfect but the online play is the only way I play Madden. We have 32 team leagues and we play a super bowl at the end of the season. The season goes for about 3 weeks to get 16 games played plus playoff games.
Anyone on PS3 my gamer name is skins26portis. Send me a friends invite and leave a remark that you are from warpath. We will need new players for the up coming league so if you want to get in its free just let me know. Hail |
Re: Madden 11 player ratings: Redskins
Redskins93 is my Gamertag
Anyone who plays on xbox360 add me and we'll play sometime. |

Never got into online play much for Madden -- too many people who never punt and then quit when you get ahead 21-0. However, my friends and I used to have ongoing battles in Madden and Fight Night and we got these 2 plastic World Champion belts (think wrestling/boxing) to give to the current champs -- 1 for Madden and 1 for FN. It was a lot of fun, because we'd always figure out new ways to flaunt them. |
Re: Madden 11 player ratings: Redskins
finally, the saints player ratings are out. i was waiting and waiting to see how jb was rated. here it is:
NUM: 70 NAME: J. Brown POS: LT OVR: 91 SPD: 60 ACC: 80 STR: 92 AGL: 64 AWR: 84 STA: 84 TGH: 75 INJ: 94 SWG: 64 JMP: 32 RBK: 91 PBK: 95 i have a feeling they may downgrade him with the first update they do while they move him onto the redskins roster. just a hunch... |
Re: Madden 11 player ratings: Redskins
Do only the online rosters get updated? Or can the game be updated to reflect current rosters for when you start a franchise?
|
Re: Madden 11 player ratings: Redskins
all you have to do is get on xbox live like you're going to play an online game, it will then tell you that you need the current roster to play. simply dl it and save it.
Landry - Tackling an 80??? His Play Rec is right at a 61
For what Haynesworth is being paid, shouldn't we at least get a stud Madden player? An 86? Yeah like MK said, if you move him to nose or DT he bumps up to a 95 or 96 i believe.
You also bump Orakpo up to 95/96 by moving him to end. This glitch has been around since Madden 06 and works for any LB/DE hybrid listed at LB. I'm surprised they haven't fixed it yet, wait...no I'm not. |
Re: Madden 11 player ratings: Redskins
on the latest update, they moved ah to dt, he's a 94 ovr. if you moved him to dt yourself-before the update-he was a 97 ovr

I don't think it's a glitch, if you move any player out of their natural position their rating changes. They obviously see Rak as a better DE than LB, and Haynesworth as a better DT than DE. |

in franchise mode i often sign lbs, move them to des, and trade them. some des also make much better dts - like ngata (and haynesworth before the roster update) for example almost every ot is better at og some fss make better sss and vice versa a lot of cbs make good fss etc. i've been playing this game too long |

And lo and behold he was the man; clogging holes, backing up the O-line, drawing double-teams, freeing up Fletcher or Rocky (or both) to shoot the gaps and go in for the sack or negative yardage. |

Not for Hayneswroth, but for Rak definitely. Put it this way, Fletcher is barely 90. With the new stricter rating system the chances of Rak being rated that high at this point in time are slim. Guys like Manny Lawson and Kamerion Wimbley also get ratings over 90 when you switch them to DE. |
Re: Madden 11 player ratings: Redskins
orakpo goes from 85 olb to 90+ de
haynesworth went from 86 de to 97 dt |
Re: Madden 11 player ratings: Redskins
I think the ratings are great, the way the game is this year. The redskins actually have one of the top 5 teams in the game. And Willie Parker has 2007 speed.

Re: Madden 11 player ratings: Redskins
One of my biggest issues peeves is how often they update these rosters... the NBA 2k series completely outclasses the madden guys when it comes to keeping the rosters fluid and i understand the nba has about 10% - 15% less players but i feel like updating the IR and depth charts could be a once a week update
|
Re: Madden 11 player ratings: Redskins
They've already had a couple of updates so far, I think there's going to be more regular updates this season.

Re: Madden 11 player ratings: Redskins
Can the updated rosters only be used in online games? How can you use them for just your everyday run of the mill exibition games or franchise play? I want to take M Kelly off my roster.
|
Re: Madden 11 player ratings: Redskins
^ u have to save online roster and load them before you begin your franchise.. If you have already started a franchise , I believe you can't use the updated roster.. If you play online franchise it should allow you to update anytime

What pissed me off about this update was no Brandon Banks. Phillip Buchanon gets too tired doing KR PR and nickel CB although I've housed it at least 10 times during online play. |

In Madden 10 I signed Greg Ellis and played him at LE. I brokethe sack record with him at LE. I think I had 33 by the end of the year. This has been around for a long time. It is not a glitch, it really just helps you use guys and move them around to make the best impact. |

Re: Madden 11 player ratings: Redskins
i had been wanting sega for awhile and finally got it for xmas that year.
the 95 college football game was awesome too: colorado with stewart, salaam, and westbrook - deadly offense. i had tecmo super bowl before that, and have been playing that since i was 5, still do from time to time. |

He's in the league as a free agent though, unless i'm on a different update... I usually get a td on teams once every couple of games with him. Also have him as my 4th wr and he's money on drag routes. |
