Re: Dreams

We are all missing the best dreams! WET ONES!

Though to be honest I don't think I have ever truly had one maybe in my early teen years but I have definitely had some good sex ones in the past.

Would it not be great if you could program your dream adventure every night before going to bed?
I never have dreams I can recall later... My wife is one of those people that remembers every detail of her crazy dreams, I'm always jealous because it sounds like fun. I've had the dreams where I'm fighting but I can only punch in slow motion or my fist never connects right... I also have this thing where dreaming that I'm going to die is super relaxing and comforting, i have no idea why. I'm not suicidal or depressed that I know of, but if I can't fall asleep, I think of dying, usually peacefully laying down in the woods, and it relaxes me so that I can get some rest. I'd love to hear someone explain that one...
I've had that one, it's a very common one. A psychologist once told me it usually stems from frustration in your life.

Other common ones:

- Falling, usually means there's something in your life you don't feel in control of.

- Flying, you're likely happy and pretty stress free.

- In school, but unprepared. Like you haven't studied for a final or you forgot to submit a paper. It's typical of overachievers, people who have a tendency to always feel like you need to be doing more.

I've had all of the above at various times.

I could care less about dreams. They mean nothing to me. I was a psychology minor and we had to learn about dreams and it was worthless. It drives me nuts when people tell me about their dreams. You know when someone tells you something that happened to them and when they explain it they realize the situation wasn’t all that funny and they add the disclaimer “you had to be there”? Thats the way i feel about dreams, theyre only meaningful to the person who dreamt them. Unless im in the dream there is no chance i want to hear about it. And odds are im not going to want to hear about the dream even if i was in it, or im going to feel let down when you tell me about a dream that involved me.

I made “deal” once with my ex girlfriend that i would never mention any of my dreams to her and in return i expect the same. She didnt like that very much. Whenever she tried to start blabbering about some dream she had i would say "Hey! remember our deal?!!!???"

Come to think of it listening to people tell me about their dreams is one of my biggest pet peeves.

Re: Dreams

I'm a sleep walker/talker. I do it every night, 90 minutes after I fall asleep. Like clockwork. I do all sorts of crazy things, like take apart ceiling fans (it had a squeak, what can I say?), or cheer on my Redskins while pacing the bedroom floor. The only time I ever remember any of it is when I wake up during it. That puts me in a really weird state. It's like I'm halfway in my dream, and halfway in reality. Very strange, and I don't like it.

One of my best dreams ever came when I was an undergrad. As a CS major, I took a ton of programming classes. I loved them, but they always had large projects. I was never one to work through the night on something like a lot of people did. I valued sleep. One night I went to bed before I had come up with a solution to a particularly difficult problem. During the night, I dreamed about the project and actually came up with a solution in my sleep that worked. It was awesome. I wish I could work more in my sleep.

Re: Dreams

Most of the dreams I have were about places I've encountered in my life before. Like when I was in high school, I've had dreams where I was sitting in class and then just started blasting music and everybody got up and started rocking out, and lately i've had dreams where I envisioned myself as a bank robber like Johnny Depp in Public Enemies and I just started blasting my guns at the ceiling while me n. co were robbing a bank.

I still have the occasional wet dream, but lately it's been pretty public, like it was a crossover wet dream where it started out as a normal dream in public and then I see some hot chick and I just go like, bust them titties out girl and lets show these people how we **** in public. I remember saying that in a public wet dream I had about banging some hot chick while I was in Giant buying my lunch like a normal work day haha. I don't know what it means but I'm sure the girl I've been hooking up with lately wouldn't wanna hear it.

Everybody stop posting in this thread and just start PMing your dream analyses to mlmpetert.

Also, I'm working on renting a van this weekend with a big microphone strapped to the roof so we can cruise through mlm's neighborhood while Reed Doughty reads out loud our posts about our dreams.

Hahaha yeah I doubt I'd do that, I've never been arrested and I hope to keep it that way. If the Redskins open a new stadium and I took my girl to a game, I'd probably be tempted to christen it the way that dude in the Irvin jersey christened the Cowboys new stadium in the bathroom stall. I feel like doing it in the bathroom at a football game wouldn't be that bad, probably because if it was the guys' bathroom 90% of the guys would be drunk and wouldn't care.

Dude I am with you for the most part, my wife loves to tell dream stories. If you enjoy stories with points to them don't listen to dream stories.

I have recurring dreams about elevators, no idea why. I'll be in an elevator and it's shaking around and very unsteady, almost to the point where I feel sick to my stomach. Weird.

Stupid one this morning (last night...whatever).

We were leaving to go to training camp and I was feeding the bird, adjusting the thermostat...doing the things I do before we leave the house. Then Buster (the dog) came back in the back door from the yard.

We forgot to make his kennel reservation. We started calling in-laws and neighbors to see if they can let the dog out to pee a few times over the weekend.

Guess what, we're going to training camp next weekend and I have not made his kennel reservation yet.

Reminder from God I guess. I better call today.

Re: Dreams

has anyone tried the nicotine patch back in early to mid 90s?

i was about 15 (1995ish), i had to blow into this machine which gauged your smoking level (i was mid level which i guess would be good for a middle aged smoker but bad for a teenager), then the dr prescribed your nicotine patch strength accordingly, which was medium for me then the low level ones to tier myself down.

anyways, the dreams on those things were so so intense, down to every detail and would seem like they last forever. it was like watching a movie, but it is in your head and is twice as long as a movie.

just a very unreal but cool experience. it was like tripping in your sleep. since i was in an out-patient rehab at the time and suspended from school until i completed the program, it was a nice surprise for someone on home lock down.

When you fly in your dreams, are you normally outside or inside? That's a strange question, but honestly, it's like I'm floating at the top of a room or something, NEVER just bird-like.

I had a dream that I was staying at somebody else's messy ass house (might have been my best friend from HS) and we woke up the next day to go dirt track racing. I was driving my Evo that I traded in months ago. I pulled up to the track got out of my car and the alarm went off. WTF?
