Watching the pre game on NBC. Man would it be nice to see the Redskins in that position again. Confetti, Donovan and Mike holding the trophy, it would be so nice to see that again as a fan.
Soooo pumped for this game tonight.

I've got AP going in one league, Pierre Thomas in another. My wife has AP going in one league, Drew Brees in another. I just got this new LED 1080p TV too. This will be the first football game watched on it. Got some ice cold beer in the fridge. It's gonna be a GREAT night.
So I'm starting pierre at running back tonight, you approve?

My other sunday starter is Spiller.

I got Brees going tonight... they have Pierre Thomas, so I'm hoping he has a quite night.

Nobody is starting Brett Farve???!!

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)

I actually have Favre and Brees in my league. The draft was super early so I got Favre before he said he was coming back...

Brees picking up right where he left off in the NFL and my Fantasy Football team :)

Thanks to Bruce and Shanny, Snyder has more time to appear in commercials. I love it.

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)

Am I the only one who think it is not a good idea for Minny to have their default #1 WR fielding punts? (Berrian).

Damn, good run by AP.

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)

Farve looks old and not very confident at all so far.

Sure, I guess. My other RB in the league where I'm starting Thomas is Ryan Grant. I took Peyton Manning and Andre Johnson with my first two picks, so I didn't get a back until the 3rd round (Grant).

Damn, this alone should win you that league!

Vikings need to shore up that right sideline.

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)

Lucky Bastard. I was going for Rodgers and Andre. I thought for sure I could do it, but only got Rodgers. I picked up Meachem instead of Henderson, and Henderson scores.

If i was the Saints I would go after this secondary all night. The Vikes D does not look very sharp at all.

Doesn't bode well for Lesslie Fraziers coaching prospects.

Either way it's great to see Regular Season football. The difference in speed between this and the preseason is obviously expected, but to actually see it with our own eyes is something else. Also the creativity on both sides of the ball is a nice touch.

Yeah that Vikes secondary is not going to stop anyone. I don't think they'll be able to beat the Packers like that...hell even Detroit may pass all over them.

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)

I am feeling better about the Lions possibly making things interesting in the NFC North. They won't make the playoffs, but they might cost the Vikes a playoff appearance.

Bushrod is a doing a really good job on Allen.

Dirtbag59 09-09-2010 09:16 PM

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)

Lol, Saints used one of their own as an umpire on that pass to Bush.

artmonkforhallofamein07 09-09-2010 09:16 PM

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)

You know the Vikes only kept 3 CBs.

Ruhskins 09-09-2010 09:27 PM

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)

Vikes are doing a good job at keeping Brees on the sidelines.

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)

Damn, AP is hard to bring down.

artmonkforhallofamein07 09-09-2010 09:42 PM

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)

Well it seems as though the momentum has somewaht shifted, and the Saints have completely abodoned the running game.

Ruhskins 09-09-2010 09:43 PM

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)

I'm surprised the Vikes' DB didn't get flagged for taking off his helmet.

The Vikes' defense is stepping up, if they get ahead they can control the TOP with the way AP is running.

artmonkforhallofamein07 09-09-2010 09:44 PM

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)

I am right there with you. It did not fall off or anything, they got away with one there.

GusFrerotte 09-09-2010 09:46 PM

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)

Yeah the Vikes are the stronger team now. Why is Peyton ignoring the running game completely?

Ruhskins 09-09-2010 09:47 PM

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)

Favre looked fragile after that hit. Vilma got away with a push there though, still Favre trying too hard to make something out of a lost play.

Why is NO being conservative with just running plays?

artmonkforhallofamein07 09-09-2010 09:49 PM

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)

I said this earlier. Farve looks like he doesnt want to be there. It is just a wierd feeling I am getting from him. I guess it would be his body language, and now he gets popped in the chest and does what he does at times. Throws picks.

artmonkforhallofamein07 09-09-2010 09:51 PM

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)

The vikes had some mo thier, and that TO definately cost them. Well would have cost them more if the kicker made it.

I don't get why the Saints went conservative with 3 running plays. They got 0 points of that turnover.

Sometimes coaches do some dumb things.... I guess they thought that they hadn't run it yet so lets try now.

He seems way to gimpy to last the entire season.

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)

I dont see the fire in Farve.. he looks old or nervous or both, and yes he seems gimpy and fragile. But those 2 passes right there were vintage.

Yeah I've been feeling that same vibe, but he seems to be getting some mojo back now.

Who do you guys like in the second half? Minnesota +3.5 or New Orleans -3.5

Sloppy first half but atleast it sets up for a good finish.. I just can't wait for SNF

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)

Vikes take this game. The D is stepping it up and the Vikes are balanced on offense. Just think, that the Vikes are without 2 CBs in the game. If they did, the Vikes would be two scores ahead probably.

GusFrerotte 09-09-2010 10:05 PM

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)

Vikes beat the spread.
