3rd and 4th for Brandon Marshall. Ha! I wish
The Duckett move was my least favorite move (arguably) of the past decade. I saw no point in it, especially since we never actually used him
I guess I was wishing too :) - that 3 and 4 was traded for Brandon Lloyd. Adding insult to injury, Snyder/Gibbs tore up the last year of his contract and handed him a $10M bonus before he played a down - ouch. |
re: Vikings and Patriots complete trade for Randy Moss
This has been the year of some high profile players getting traded for little compensation.

Would NE now trade for V Jackson? Certainly they have the picks.
The Pats need help in their defense, so I would say they'd go for a defensive player if one became available. |
Maybe Favre can help salvage my $$ league team. He killed me in the first 3 games.
as he did i. (i think that is a proper but odd grammactical sentence, FD?) i traded maclin and favre for romo and fred jackson to get out of the favre mess but the damage is already done. good for moss, vikes and pats. moss was going after this season anyways, vikes get a boost in team and fan morale with the (false) hope that moss can turn things back around and the pats get a 3rd for a player who was walking anyways. this has to hurt the pats chances thoo, i dont see the emergence of hernandez as insurance for making this move. |

re: Vikings and Patriots complete trade for Randy Moss
I am not a big fan of the skins throwing around draft picks, but both Moss and M. Lynch were traded for almost nothing. Those two positions (WR and RB) are glaring holes with the skins right now.

re: Vikings and Patriots complete trade for Randy Moss
Something on... but off the subject...
Guess the total amount of catches this past Sunday for "the Mosses" Randy & Santana COMBINED. Answer: ZERO. I'd venture to say that's the first time EVER that these 2 guys were healthy, played an entire game, and the two combined for no catches on the same day. It's extremely rare enough that either one has a no-catch day as is.. Now off the subject... I meant to mention this in another thread... but Donovan/Redskins didn't even target Santana Moss once Sunday... it was very odd watching our pass offense in the 2nd Half... McNabb's 2nd Half: 2-for-11 for 10 yds and an INT... yuck. :vomit: |

Not sure about Santana but I would say he's probably had a few too. |

I meant the two guys.. "the Mosses"... on the same day didn't catch a pass. I noticed immediately after our game that Santana didn't, then when I heard Randy didn't ... that's pretty damn rare. |

True, but a mid round pick for us is a big deal now since the McNabb trade. |

Send em big Al for a few picks! I know they play a 3-4, but they could use a dominant DE. |

Lets not do that. |
Re: Vikings and Patriots complete trade for Randy Moss
The Pats have something up there sleeves. It has been stated by Wes Welker himself that most of his success came from Moss being doubled & him running underneath routes. Revis on Welker not as interesting as him on Moss. They have to bring in someone else otherwise Welker will start to look very average like his career in Miami.
|
Re: Vikings and Patriots complete trade for Randy Moss
According to Adam S. Minnesota also receives a 2012 7th rounder.

For real!?!? So they gave up their 3rd rounder in the 2011 draft and got Moss and a 7th rounder back in the 2012 draft for arguably a top 5 WR in the game. (top 10 for sure, even at his age now) and we couldn't top that? Unbelievable... Yea,I would rather keep Hall of Famer Roydell Williams as well. He's a stud..lol |
Re: Vikings and Patriots complete trade for Randy Moss
Keep in mind though the trade was made with no new contract for Moss. I'm not sure we want to have traded for two 30+ year old veterans looking for one final huge contract.
|
Re: Vikings and Patriots complete trade for Randy Moss
i dont want to trade any drafts picks for guys who just want to get paid...hell i dont want to spend moneys on guys who just want to get paid (Haynesworth). After I saw what we have drafted the last 15 years in the way of WRs, that looks bad too. Free agency next year their could be some talented guys at a good price, Jacoby Jones, Steve Breaston, Malcom Floyd...

Re: Vikings and Patriots complete trade for Randy Moss
I almost hope there's no draft next season...
Is that a possibility,if there's a lockout? Anyone know? The Patriots would really be bent over and given the train,if this were the case. Check out their Draft picks next season...(2011) 2011 Pats picks 1st Round 1st Round (OAK – Richard Seymour) 2nd Round (CAR – 2010 3rd Round) 2nd Round 3rd Round (MIN – Randy Moss) 3rd Round 4th Round 4th Round (DEN – Laurence Maroney) 5th Round 6th Round (NO – David Thomas) |
Re: Vikings and Patriots complete trade for Randy Moss
Just picked up Brandon Tate in my fantasy and dropped Louis Murphy.
|
Re: Vikings and Patriots complete trade for Randy Moss
Not to mention that 1st round Oakland pick will most likely be very high
and that Carolina pick in the 2nd round will be very high as well. Crazy! |

Hmmm. Yes they do. That would'nt surprise me one bit if it happened. |
Re: Vikings and Patriots complete trade for Randy Moss
I wonder if they need an ASS KICKIN' D lineman???
|
Re: Vikings and Patriots complete trade for Randy Moss
Here is some food for thought. Maybe NE has been having the same issues with Moss as we have with AH; yet theirs is keep much more internal. Interesting. Thus keeping his trade value somewhat high or at least existent.

Well we all know how he popped off to the media after week 1, and he reportedly was a locker room issue the other night after not catching any balls. |

You mean a "Head" Kickin defensive lineman, right? :benched: |
Re: Vikings and Patriots complete trade for Randy Moss
imo the diference is Moss is in his final year of K with the pats while AH just got done his 1st year of a 7 year K with the skins.
Moss wanted security of a new deal and didnt want to play out his final year with no extension and potentially get injured. AH wants? most think to play for a 4-3 team. i think a new contract. any team that would trade for AH would have to sign him to a new K. im not sure if this is the skins creation b/c they are demanding either AH or the new team pay the skins back a portion of the 21 mil. I think the skins should drop their demand for money back in the offer and see if they can just get a 2nd rounder with no money back. no teams wants to give up a 2nd rounder and have to sign AH to a new K, especially a K that would have to reimburse AH for the money he paid back to the skins. i think he thought he could get 32 mil for 13 months then pout and get traded and get a new K that would pay him his FMV for future years instead of playing out his K with the skins which pays him a kings ransom up front but then pays him slightly below FMV for the remaining years of his K. |

Just listened to T. Bruschi talk about it. He said that he thought Moss was becoming a problem in the locker room. Espn reported that he had an argument at half of the monday night game w/the qb coach, who calls the plays. Bruschi said he was back to being the same guy he was in Oakland & late in his yrs. at minn. |

NE does not have the strong veterans in their locker room anymore like Bruschi, Seau or Seymour that kept Moss quiet. Moss ain't afraid to run his mouth in NE so they shipped him out for a good draft pick. This was a good deal for both teams. Although if Welker goes down, NE is ****ed. |

Wow, a WR arguing with the play caller. That's a rairty in the NFL. I see why they traded him.

Re: Vikings and Patriots complete trade for Randy Moss
Interesting. Ever since the Patriots switched to more two tight end sets, Tom Brady has become more accurate.
