I'm worried about Payton Manning vs our LBs.

Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
I'm worried about how we as a fan base may deal with a winning team again?
I think some on this board may still believe we are 4-12. Honestly. If CP had played Clay M. wouldnt have gotten to DM so much. I am not worried we beat the Packers because we beat them up all day and they could not handle the physical beating we gave them. |
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
I'm worried that Fred Davis is MIA and Shanny's gonna cut his ass.

Look at those guns, I'm sure he could put up well over 300. |
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
The offensive line is still trying to come together. Green Bay was tied with the most sacks in the NFL coming into this week. We all knew this was going to be a big challenge for the offensive line. Considering the competition, I think they did okay. Good enough to win. McNabb did miss some throws but hit some big ones down the stretch. I also see situations where the receivers could help out by making tough catches. Armstrong's touchdown is a prime example. That was a tough catch. Wasn't a fantastic throw but an unbelievable catch. I'm not seeing Joey Gallaway making that catch. I'm loving Banks. He is instant excitement. He can potentially bring back any return. Our return teams have to trust their blocks because Banks is bringing it most of the time. Can't afford the bad blocks. Usually those blocks have no effect on the play.

Not cool man. Your scaring me if you have insight into that possibliity. Its been said that the Texans blocked FG wasnt his fault b/c they overloaded the side. He may have 1 penalty call this year. And we knew coming out of college he couldnt block. I dont think for any reason we would let him go given our lack of WR's. |
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
What is the deal with Dockery? I understand he's not a zone blocking type of guy. Fine I get that. But the guy that is in his place is terrible. I can't spell his name but he was getting owned. Dock wasn't even active which blows my mind.

Apparently unless you have a Super Bowl team that is flat out dominating everyone you can't get excited about winning. That's just horseshit to me. We've gone from a 4-12 team with a buffoon in the front office to a competitive team that is playing their asses off each week, and we have quality people in place running things. If that's not progress I don't know what is. We've knocked off 3 of the supposed heavy hitters in the NFC, 2-0 in the division, 3-1 in the conference, again... progress. |

I mentioned this a couple times last nite...I think its an absolute mistake not to have Dock at least active. Kory Lickinwhater the last couple games has not played well. I dont see how Dock could play worse than what Ive seen from Kory. I get Dock might not be a perfect fit for zone blocking scheme but come on, he should be considered at the least top tier depth in the interior. Not smart. Off season wish list includes an addition to the interior. And what is up with Jamal Brown? Man hes been sorta of a disappointment...Heyer actually looked good considering what I saw from Brown. Yuck |

I am worried about the bye week and what our record will be when we get there, but I'll save that for another thread.

I'm pretty sure he was the worst player on the field in that game. It looked like somebody put a mickey in his gatorade. |
Look, I'm not going to start a thread that criticizes how we won, Damn...a win is a win, and I appreciate where we are right now. That being said, I have some areas where I would like to hear your thoughts.
O Line: McNabb was under pressure the entire game, and the running game was non-existent. Is the O Line really as bad as it looked tonight? D Line: Rodgers had all day...all day. We got to him towards the end of the game, but for the most part he wasn't bothered. What does it take to get pressure on the QB? Pass Coverage: It seemed like most throws from Rodgers resulted in a 6-10 yard gain. Why are we playing so soft...? Banks...he better be returning every punt from now on...he can be and will be a game changer...no question. Thoughts?
#1- I think the OL is some where in between. I know it's not the best answer but in Zorn's scheme they sucked but in Shanahan's scheme they are much better. They played one of the better DL's in the league Sun. and could not run the ball very well due to it so they had to find better ways to move the ball, ie; passing the ball to the RB beyond the DL but in the open or flat. #2- I think the DL is a work in progress. They are still learning the scheme. I heard part of the reason they did better in the second half was the adjustment that was made. They started playing 3 Safeties in the game and for that it helped out. ... suposedly. #3- I think we play soft at CB cause it's the by product of the scheme. I think they would rather have teams make the small play keeping the offense in front of them vs. giving up the big play and possible TD. Personally it looks like when they play zone coverage I think they give the cushion. When they play man to man they are closer to the line and jam at the LOS. Some teams due to WR's they have the defense might have to play more zone vs. man to man. Just my oppinion. |
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
On top of what I said above,
I think if the Refs call all the pass interference calls the Packers committed a lot of our drives would have continued possibly resulting in points. But again thats all circumstantial. If they called all the holding penalties the packers committed on offense against our DL they would probably not done as well as they did. In the end the Refs tried to let the teams play. I keep hearing that we could have been penalized on the Landry interception cause Jarmin hit Rogers helmet to helmet. Refs didn't call it. |

But,so far so good..
Well Ace, that's the thing about predictions. You can't change it if your prediction doesn't go right, it's there for better or worse. So if we do go 14-2, well then you'll look like a genius and you'll get to reap the rewards. But if we do anything less than 14-2 your gonna be stuck with the flak, and believe me there will be flak. You can't change it once you post it. |
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
Boy does anybody realize how much progress we've made? We won 4 games in 16 tries last season. We've already won 3 games in 5 tries this season. 'Nuff said. Sure they weren't dominating wins, but the fact that we won these games, against 3 playoff teams from last season, speaks dividends. Obviously there's a lot of work left to be done but this team is above and beyond what we had last year.

Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
Oh yeah, and I'm worried that there are too many whiners on this forum that think they are the only ones that can start a thread for discussion or voice their opinion of this team (good or bad). Some of you actually believe that your opinion is the only one that matters...it's comical really.
Like I said at the beginning, "I'm not going to start a thread that criticizes how we won...a win is a win, and I appreciate where we are right now. That being said, I have some areas where I would like to hear your thoughts." |

Experience has taught me to accept the realization that the opinions consist of varying degrees, depending on whether our favorite team wins or loses. What's happening now for many Redskin fans is, the team is not winning the way they'd like to see them win. The victories are not decisive enough for their satisfaction, the games have all been so close that the outcome has often been determined on the last play of the game. Experience has taught me to expect happy and positive talk when the team wins, negative and uninspiring talk when they lose. That's the way it's always been and I don't see it changing anytime soon.....It's the nature of the beast. |
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
It's not good to rely on the hope that the opponent's best pass rusher is going to be out for the final minutes of the game. *wink* *wink*
Don't worry Chief, those fools will get what they deserve. |

Jarmon's helmet does make contact with Rodgers's helmet, but that would have been a bad call by the refs, IMO. Whatever happened to Jarmon anyway? When we drafted him I thought he was supposed to be perfect for a DE in a 3-4. This is the first I've heard from him all year. |
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
He's just been working back from his knee injury. His role will probably continue to increase going forward.
|
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
^^
Plus Jarmon lost weight to become a linebacker, which didn't work out. So now he's bulking up again to become a 3-4 DE. |
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
It looks like he dips his helmet...for what, not sure. He doesn't look like he trying to head butt him...exactly. Looks wierd
