Re: It's F-ing Colts Week
One KEY THING I hope on Sunday that I think will help a lot is for us to win the toss and take the ball down to score first. I just don't want to play catch-up right off the bat with Manning back there.
If we can score first, I think the defense can be a little more creative rather than playing to limit Manning. |

I'm glad that we are not required to eff ravens. That would be difficult. |
Re: It's F-ing Colts Week
If it anytime to catch the Colts to play, its now. Their defense is seriously hurting from injuries. Their WRs and RB are not at 100%. This is absolutely huge for us. I expect AH to return and play well. I think Hasslett continues to use the hybrid 3-4, and expect more pressure from him this week than the previous 2.
If there is anytime to get the rushing attack going, its this week. Ball control against the best QB of this era is crucial. I would like to see our running game open up the play action game, our opposing QB is maybe the best all time play action QB (so dont bite Landry). Just having McNabb drop back anything over 30-35+ times is not gonna consistantly win us games. Yo Banks!!! This is your weekend, lets get your first touchdown. Skins 26 Colts 20 |
Re: It's F-ing Colts Week
The name of the game for the Colts has been low scoring battles. I think we can hold them under 20 in this game, considering they won't be able to run against our fronts. Manning is going to understand protections better than Rodgers, so I expect a lot less blitzing and trying to win by covering up an injury-riddled receiving corps. The Redskins win 19-16.
|
Re: It's F-ing Colts Week
I think if we can game plan Manning into passing somewhere near 40 times, we have a shot at winning. That means either they've abadoned the run because it's not working or they're playing catch up. In either case, I like our chances if we keep them off balance, which is highly possible. I think our defense will show up to play too. Hopefully Big Al will be back with his head in the game and I'm going to predict a Carlos Rogers intereception for a touch.
|
Re: It's F-ing Colts Week
One thing Manning doesn't like is pressure and getting beat up. I expect pressure at the right times, not all the time or he'll shred this team during blitzes.
|
Re: It's F-ing Colts Week
I expect to see more cover 2 w/a lot of mixed coverages & occassional blitzes. I think Haslett has seen that while the front 4 (3 d line + Rak) don't get immediate pressure, if the coverage is good Rak & a someone else will get to the qb. His blitzing strategy has improved a lot, just need to work on leaving so many soft spots in the zones.
Manning will get some yards but won't score much. I think we will control the clock in the 2nd half, get 1 or 2 turnovers & win this one convincingly, 24-13. |

But then afterwards the spin machine will be in full effect. Manning was off, they're injured in the secondary, this guy tripped and tore his achilles. I swear if won by 30 points the naysayers would say the Colts had an off night, not that the Skins won. |

While he hesitates on where to pass next we pound him into the ground until he cannot get up. When he does finally make it to the side line had has that dumb look on his face like his brother. Our running game gets going and opens up our passing game and Moss and AA both have a TD.

Not saying it will be the peak of the season, but we'll have more big letdowns to come, just not this game. In fairness to the spinners, the Skins are one of many teams this year that the experts et al just can't seem to make sense of. The parity this year is so far as great as I've ever seen I believe. If teams like Dallas, Minn. & SD get on track this season could produce the most 8-8 teams ever. |

35/17 Colts
Its call a joke. Do also you need to see more of them before you recognize one? LOL |
Re: It's F-ing Colts Week
This is a tough one to predict (aren't they all?) Now the good thing is that the Colts are coming off a win, I would have hated if we had to face a desperate Colts team. Our offense and Haslett's discipline as a defensive play caller will be key. The Colts D is terrible, and we need more out of our offense in order to keep Manning on the sidelines. We can't have a sh*tty performance out of McNabb and Co.
In the defensive side of the ball, Haslett cannot go blitz-crazy against Manning. The Colts have no running game, so we'll need to make sure to avoid the big passing plays and keep an eye on dump off passes. Hopefully having Godzilla back will help with creating a pass rush with just our 3 d-linemen (or 4 if we have 4-3 formations), the Colts o-line is not the best and I don't think we are going to need to blitz at all. |

Re: It's F-ing Colts Week
Ol' Burgundy and Gold is giving up about 400 yards per game, and the Colts are known for their devastating offensive attacks on the field and will be putting points on the board.
Bottom line, our offense has to answer this week, because the D won't be able to win it by itself. And tho' the D can't win this game by itself, the Indy O is not what it's been in years past; it hasn't found a rythym so far this season, which is a good thing ... unless they find it with us. I'm pretty sure the first few opening drives will tell the tale - if we come out strong, or at least answer Manning, we have a legit shot at winning it; if we come out like a heap or fail to respond to Indy points with our own, it will be a long game and we lose unless the Football Gods are still feeling benevolent towards us. That said, I have a good feeling about this game and the Colts have only managed to absolutely demolish exactly one team so far this season. 'Skins over Colts, 21-17 |
Re: It's F-ing Colts Week
You guys really think the Skins have a shot of scoring more than 2 touchdowns?t
Yes. The Colts are NOT firing on all cylinders. Neither their O nor their D is like last year's. Eli and the G-Men absolutely choked on both sides of the ball in Week 2, it's the only reason the score was so lopsided.
They are 3-2 just like us, with some close games just like us. The Colts can be beaten if the 'Skins respond offensively. |

Peyton will get the Jim Kelly treatment. I guarantee it. :D

Cant argue this one. I did pick us to score 17 in Phill. I was half right. I think if Vick was in I would have been all right. As far as GB is concerned, Yeah I blew that one completely. Our D really surprised me. Lets hope Im wrong this week as well. |

Just bought my tickets on Stubhub. Can't wait for this game.

Re: It's F-ing Colts Week
If the Colts were a little healthier, I would worry about this game but they are badly beaten up, so there is no reason we shouldn't be able to take this game. They got beat by the damn Jags people. Besides, due to the good fortune/luck of our opponents key players dropping game after game, I'm beginning to think we may be able to slide into the playoffs.
|
Re: It's F-ing Colts Week
Anytime we play the Colts people should be worried. The offense will have to play world class offense for us to win this game. We have to run the ball all 4 qts. If they stack the line and blitz you take advantage and slip screen them to hell. It's about time we introduce audibles to this offense too. If we do all of this successfully we win, if not it will be an easy 27-13 Colts victory.

The Jags have always played the Colts tough, although they usually lost the games in recent memory. |

Re: It's F-ing Colts Week
I don't know, this one could go either way (like most of our games). The Texans pass D is a hair worse than ours and they don't seem to create turnovers as much as we do, much less keep people out of their end-zone. But yet they managed to beat a pretty healthy Colts team in week one. Yeah it was a division game and the first game of the season, but most years it's not a surprise for the Colts to go unbeaten until like past week 10 and shit. I find it interesting that both of their losses have come against divisional opponents, and I'm guessing Kyle S. knows their defensive weaknesses just as well as anyone. Execute and take care of the baby and I think we'll be fine, regardless if Peyton has a big day or not. Play poor in any facet of the game and you can chalk it up as a big fat loss. With all said, I say an even match-up deep into the 4th quarter, Banks punt return to set up a Gano FG decides game winner.

Re: It's F-ing Colts Week
I guess we knew the schedule going in, but it's weird that we are in week 6 and only have had one 1pm start.
I don't think the late start will be much of a factor either way. Both teams have already played one Sunday night game, and both won, granted in different fashion, so there really is no stigma hanging over either. This is just going to be a mano y mano competition. |

I HATE 4 o'clock games in the early fall becasue we still have light and this usually the busiest time around my house. 1 is so much better son is taking nap, wife out shopping etc..It is just annoying.
