Re: It's F-Ing Lions Week!!
Torain will carry the day. I am now cautious with the Lions, but I think we will win. If our D is in a groove, a win is definitely in the making. Skins by 10 points, unless Donovan plays like crap, then by 3.

Skins will win, if not for the fact they all remember(me also) the humiliation of losing last year at Ford Field. Man I got the business coming out of there, wearing my Skins jersey. |
How is Detroit better than Chicago? So is Dallas better than us?
Detroit is improved Okie. The record still sucks, but they are always in the games they have lost, and the overall play has improved, e ven with a third string QB in Stanton. Lions are probably better than Dallas and Chicago right now. |

Ya know, that's all I am saying, and although my heart says we win, and my mind wants too, I have seen the Skins play these type games to a miserable win or flat out loss. If we had shown up for the Rams game, I would feel different, but until this team shows the heart it takes to just win against teams they should I guess I'm just a little negative. |
Re: It's F-Ing Lions Week!!
Guys I know they are improved and got robbed in Chicago but I don't think they're as good as us, they really have no run game and their DBs are really shaky outside of delmas.. You guys make great points and yes they can easily beat us, Stl did. I just see us on a roll right now, winning 3 out of 4 on this stretch and eventually our offense will play good again..
Btw Gus are u going? |
Re: It's F-Ing Lions Week!!
I think the Skins are feeling very confident, especially after a win on the road and were able to do so even though the offense was the worse they played probably all year. D Hall play gives us confidence as well.
Lions have an extra week to prepare and a rusty Stafford stepping back in. Best has been banged up as well. This team is much better than last year...offensively. Defensively they have MAJOR issues. Suh has been good, but they give it up on the ground big time. Keys: 1. Torrain needs/can to run like an antelope out of control 2. Limit the play makers on Lions offense...that would be Megatron and Best. Best is a beast and has big big play ability and if he gets in space against our LBs we are in major f*cking trouble. Therefore Mr. Best meet Mr. Landry. Moore over the top help on Megatron all day. check 3. Stafford first game back, bring pressure right off the bat see how he reacts. 4. McNabb needs to take care of the ball this game, those same mistakes he made last week gets us beat this week. 5. We cant just settle for field goals this week, Lions offense is too good. This week we need the 7 points when we get in the redzone. Skins 28 Lions 21 |

I'm noticing a lot of the 'experts' thinking the lions will win this Sunday... I'm telling you skin fans, we need to be worried about these Lions...

I think last year they figured it would be an easy win. That's not gonna be the case this time around!
Ughh, all I hear is that guy Bram on Redskin Nation saying "its a trap game" in my head and sure enough we end up losing that one. |

Green Bay looked bad statistically bad against the run. It turned out they had more than enough talent on their D-line to knock the shit out of our pansy interior. Rabach and Hicks, R.I.P this week. |
Re: It's F-Ing Lions Week!!
We were able to pound it pretty good against the Bears run D, which is much better than Detroit's (5th vs. 27th). The Lions are not strong against the run, I would expect Torain to have a heavy workload this week.

If I remember right we did win that game. Also GB has a track record of having a decent D so its not a fluke when they play tough D. Lions don't have any track record of having a good D. |

This is not about whether we won or lost. Not one of my sentences had "winning the game" as the subject of the sentence. The subject was about the Packers' stats going into that week. They came into the game with statistical rankings that weren't so hot, but they came and stuffed our running game. This shows that stats can mask certain strengths of the opposing team. Incidentally, Miami was able to get a few decent runs against them the next week, which further highlights our interior's crappiness. This also isn't about track records. This is about freaking who is going to win the damn battles on the LOS. If Suh wins more of those battles than he loses, McNabb and friends are going to be in a world of hurt. Detroit didn't have Suh before. They do now. Don't act like he's not there. Those "track records" are no longer going to be reliable once they add good personnel. Who won the LOS battle between their D-line and our O-line? Green Bay's DL won against us easily. That in turn led to a shitty rushing average. |

Maybe it's because of FA but it sure seems like we have had a lot of teacher/mentor vs player matchups. Reid/Mcnabb Shanahan, K/ Schaub Shanahan,M/ Cutler this week - Schwarz/Haynesworth. Unfortunately, I think this weeks matchup is the first to clearly favor the other team. In the first three, our asset certainly could provide valuable thoughts about the other team's. This week though, I doubt AH will tell us anything useful about Schwarz's D, while Schwarz will know AH's game inside out. |

He'll probably give the lowdown on stunts, gimmicks, playcalling trends, etc. Hell, he may even give out info on the defensive audibles. I do know that Schwartz emphasizes that the 4 DL must be able to generate pressure by themselves. |

Re: It's F-Ing Lions Week!!
If AH comes into this game ready to rock like he did last week, it's not going to matter much what Schwartz knows about him. Any sort of knowledge isn't going to stop that bull rush.

Not sure this team can win 2 road games in a row, and until the offense shows it can score more then I'd say Detroit wins this game 24-17.

Re: It's F-Ing Lions Week!!
I don't really think the AH/schwartz thing will have much of an impact on this game. This looks like it'll be a defensive game; the skins defense outmatches the lions offense (they may give up yards but will limit points and create turnovers), and the skins offense has shown nothing to suggest they'll put up a lot of points on sunday. I'm also afraid of Suh having a field day against our interior OL, but like last week, if Torain breaks the first level he'll have some good runs - I think he racks up at least 80 yards this week. I would love to say the skins win in a blowout, but there's no evidence that supports that outcome, and overwhelming evidence that this will be another close one. 50/50 chance skins win this.

We run very well off that zone stretch play to the right. Not so well right up the gut. Chicago's d-line is weaker in the middle. |

If it becomes a defensive game then that would favor us IMO. I think this is gonna look more like the Texans game, a shoot out. I think the Skins offense feels like it needs to rebound after two rather poor game where we didnt take care of good opportunities. I think Shanny is not happy with what he has seen lately from the offense and could get more involved. The lions offense I think will be ready to play with a extra week to prepare and could get a lift with Stafford coming back. Lion Defense is not very good...I think we could see alot of big plays on both sides. |

He still has to know the plays are and what is being communicated among the other D-linemen. If he can expound on just some Schwartz's more "popular" playcalls, that'll help out in breaking down the film they're studying. |

Agreed. I think we'll be up big and then they're gonna make an attempt at a comeback but fall short. Unlike the Texans |
