...and Banks for that nasty catch in the middle.
Fully agree. I'd really like to see a little more of Banks in the coming weeks. He barely played on offense and yet made a HUGE play. The O-line scabs did a phenomenal job. I couldn't believe it. I'll never bench Santana (or Steve Johnson for that matter) for Wes Welker in fantasy again this year. And in general I tip my hat to the entire team for their fight today. After being totally demoralized and emasculated on national TV just 6 days ago, they dealt with a short week and won a tough road game with tons of big injuries. Definitely an important win. We got beat to shit last week, but we showed a lot of resiliency today. |
Re: Game Ball
Cooley made ton of clutch 1st down catches.

Fred Davis also had some big gainers, props to him. |
Re: Game Ball
This is the easiest game ball in years. It is Casey Rabach for getting hurt. He may be a true tough guy but he is dogshit and has been holding this team back for a few years now.
Keiland Williams...RB of the future? I know that a Shanahan defense doesn't have a feature back, but if this kid keeps playing the way he is playing, he might keep the starting job. I sill wish him or Torain had CP's pass blocking skills.
Not trying to argue but Williams left a lot of yards on the field on several of those runs. He did his job, don't get me wrong, but he is a placeholder and is not even close to being a bellcow. |
Re: Game Ball
I agree with Pockets straight. CP looked real good for the few snaps he played..
Will Montgomery.
Started at RG, moved to C. Played lights out all day. Tenn is a great front four. They got stuffed! Honorable mention to Gano. He keeps getting put into bad situations and coming up better than most. Miss a GW at the end of regulation (of course but it was almost 5o yards and he was cautious with his plant since everyone had been slipping all day on that sh$*&# field). Nails a long GW. I know the majority of people on here hate him but Gano is the real deal.
Gano is the most talented kicker we've had since Lohmiller. He's 23 years old. If we were to cut him, I could easily see him having a long, productive career elsewhere. The O-line was a revelation yesterday. McNabb actually had time to work through his progressions. Hopefully they will continue to play at that level. |

I agree, but he's certainly proving his worth as valuable guy to have around for depth. |
Re: Game Ball
My take;
OL did awsome. This is the kind of work we wanted all year. The Titans have an extremely good DL which creates havok. With all the injuries our OL did outstanding Sun. RB K.Williams I think is a really good RB. No he's not CP when it comes to pass blocking but remember CP is around 30 and has played in many games. He knows what to look for and where. K.Williams is still learning. Williams also proved in most cases to be difficult to tackle and provided positive yards. Only when the OL faltered did he lose a yard or atleast get back to the line of scrimmage. WR, although Galloway stepped up.... it really wasn't enough for me to be all over his jock. I'd still see how Austin or any other WR's look in practice from the PS and possibly replace Galloway or R.Williams. Banks had a nice catch. People can say whatever they want about WR's and their height but Banks is the prime example that height should not matter. He's played long enough to know not to run straight into the CB for the jam and knows when to catch and run and when to catch and avoid the hit. His catch Sun. night just proved he can take a hit. Give him slant routes or curl routes on third downs plus more screens. Offensive play calls were what we needed and should have had against the Eagles as well. Defense wants to bum rush all the time, incorporate the screen pass to slow them down. Over all nice effort and not staying flat the whole 1st quarter. |
Re: Game Ball
I'll give a gameball to WM. He made a big difference in the pass-pro as well as the run game. Also gameballs to the RBs.
|
Re: Game Ball
id give it to the coaching staff as well. really well designed game plan on both sides of the ball and like Shanny has been saying since TC, if we can establish the run early we will be in games. Im glad they stuck with the run game.
and did we have 32 firstdowns? wow |
Re: Game Ball
8/16 on 3rd downs... where has that been all year?!
8/16 on 3rd downs... where has that been all year?!
Killed by the insistence of not playing out of the shotgun on 3rd downs. I'm glad that they've remedied this (hopefully long term), now they need to figure out how to score on the redzone. |
Re: Game Ball
Shotgun on 3rd down should be automatic, especially with how many times McNabb has gotten tripped up by the OL this year.

More like never, IMO. Sellers may be a punishing blocker, but he gives way too much area to hit as a running back and doesn't power through people like Peterson and other real power runners. As a receiver, he's decent IF he catches it though. |

Well, the Bungles 2008 game where he fumbled on the goal line is still a painful memory. |
Re: Game Ball
As critical as I've been of Shanny, he and his staff were masterful and engaged coaching through so many injuries.
|
Re: Game Ball
Nobody talked much of the defense....Did not allow a touchdown with Landry and Rogers out, huge. One man gang causing a big turnover and I thought D Hall once again had a nice game. Big ups to Haslett
|
Re: Game Ball
It might not be Game Ball worthy but Kemo had push that I have not seen from him before.

Re: Game Ball
My vote goes to the gold pants. We are now 1-0 when wearing white tops and gold pants, so clearly that was the entire reason we won. I'm going to assume the gold reflected well off the sun on the field, shining in the Titans' players eyes all game, especially when Rusty Smith of Florida-Atlantic fame was in there, thus resulting in a lack of concentration and that was probably the main reason we were successfull out there.
Sarcasm aside, gotta go o-line in this one. Even though in the second half they shut down our running game, McNabb had all day to throw and there's no way in hell we convert all those third and longs if he didn't have time to pass. |
Re: Game Ball
Great win.
OL was impressive. Not just the makeshift starters but TW was a monster. Seemed like he was on an island all day and no one touched McNabb from the blind side. Kudos to the whole team and especially the coaching staff. Great rebound after Body Bag Game II. |
Re: Game Ball
I didn't see the game... But I did see the gold pants. So gold pants it is.

Re: Game Ball
Cooley is a beast. He better make the Pro-Bowl.
Montgomery gets extra props, but the whole o-line.
Actually, Buchanon wasn't bad, given the situation. And Fletch had some huge plays as well. Gutsy win--just when you're ready to give up on them entirely.
Yeah this team has had me in a bind for a long time. I say they are going in the right direction, etc and talk up our guys when they do good, then they lay a stinker game on you. When I dog them they shine, go figure. |

Sometimes it takes a while to fully recover from an Achilles injury. Hopefully Kemo is returning to top form and will make us forget his performance over the first half of the season. |
Re: Game Ball
Kemo did knock Young out of the game
