Seriously though, Locker's a huge, huge gamble. But if he pays off...
He's officially on my radar. ;) |

I remember when I was a moderator for a Tampa Bay Buc's forum. You have to rule with an iron fist. Sometimes you need to randomly ban people for no reason. Bottom line if people fear the mods you'll have good behavior at an all time high. None of this understanding and agree to disagree crap that Matty and Smoot are selling. Bottom line, you have a chance to change things Scud. Make sure you don't let this opportunity slip. |

Re: Your final prediction for #10
JLC's got us taking Gabbert in his mock draft as well. I didn't know you were a fan :P
I could see that happening though. I need to think a little before I make up my mind lol |

Oh I can do that standing on my....WAIT 3 MONTHS! Wait wait, I'd like to make a deal. You give me a reduced sentence and I'll tell you who was behind the "Friday Friday" April 1st massacre that drove multiple members to suicide. I'll even testify in an open thread. |
Re: Your final prediction for #10
Best case, Julio Jones
Can live with, Blaine Gabbert Worst case, Jake Locker Throw my remote at the screen, Mark Ingram |
Re: Your final prediction for #10
Jake Locker is what our pick will be. Not terrible. Great Guy. Will work his butt off forever for us. We need a player like that.
|

Best Case.........Von Miller Can Live With....JJ Watt, Robert Quinn, Cameron Jordan Worst Case.......Any of these QB's that are project to go the first 3 rounds Throw My Remote at the screen...A TE, SS, FS |

While I agree that Jake Locker could very else work out for us it's not going to be on hard work alone. Jason Campbell was everything you'd ever want in terms of off the field work ethic yet the best he could do was become an above average game manager. On the other hand, if we draft a QB that doesn't work hard, well safe to say they'll have no chance of doing anything at this level. |
Re: Your final prediction for #10
If both Gabbert and Locker are there at ten and we know that Dalton will be around for our second round pick, who would you choose?
|

In that scenario I'd go Gabbert |

I would too. Im guessing that would be the consensus. |

I'd be happy with Locker, Mallett or Gabbert .. Other than that Id pass on a QB in the first |
Re: Your final prediction for #10
I say go QB. Trade down if we can, but Locker is a decent choice at #10. The draft always overvalues QB's because they can change the entire franchise. Locker was a #1 pick last year, and I don't buy that he dropped down for staying one more year. I'd be fine getting another QB like Ponder later in the draft, but I think Locker is a better pick.
For Julio Jones - remember Detroit picked up four WR in top 10 from 2003-2007. And look where it got them. Even when they had Calvin Johnson, one of the best WR in the game -- they were the first team to finish 0-16 and were still picking at #1 the next year. |
Re: Your final prediction for #10
Well, just to be different, I'll say Smith
Will it be Aldon, will it be Jimmy, will it be Tyron? Stay tuned
If we draft Tyron Smith I would love the pick. Trent Williams and Tyron Smith as bookends? Sick. Those bookends would be the building the block of a dominant OL. You create a pocket from which a QB can function. Its a tough call for me at 10. QB? Locker vs Gabbert To QBs with very similar production under very different circumstances. I would lean towards Locker. |
Re: Your final prediction for #10
I'm changing my pick from Locker to who the hell knows.
|
Re: Your final prediction for #10
Didnt who the hell knows say he wants to be a Cowboy?
|
Re: Your final prediction for #10
So many questions about this draft pick, I love it.
I can't remember being this confused on which position we'll go in a long time. |
Re: Your final prediction for #10
My guess is Julio Jones. I would PREFER a NT or O-Lineman though.
|
Re: Your final prediction for #10
I'm changing my pick from Locker to who the hell knows.
Who the Hell Knows had a good combine, had a fantastic 40 time and the other day I heard Mel Kiper's hair gushing about him. |
Re: Your final prediction for #10
I'm still going Locker at #10. A trade out of 10 would actually suprise me.
|

The Warpath consensus pick would probably be Malbert Lockton. :argue: |

Re: Your final prediction for #10
This feels like the 2006 draft. A highly athletic QB coming off winning a National Championship. A highly touted pocket passer. Then a gunslinger QB prospect with accuracy questions from a mediocre team. Vince Young, Matt Leinert or Jay Cutler. Cam Newton, Blaine Gabbert or Jake Locker.
Let's see if history repeats? |
Re: Your final prediction for #10
Tim Hasselbeck said earlier "ponder is the most overrated QB in this draft" He also went on to say Gabbert is the most ready to play

good article...look who he is raving about?
Great article! I also heard mayock on Path to the Draft yesterday say that Locker could be a Franchise QB in the Shanahan system and that they better not get cute by trying to trade down and still get him. |

Yeah I heard Mayock on that too. I think when all is said and done we won't trade down. I've read the Rams are fine with staying at #14. And more often than not it's not easy to trade in and out of a top 10 pick. I think we stay put and get the guy Shanahan would have had on his short list last year at #4. |
