|
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
Welcome, Roy Helu.
|
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
Fooled two out of four times this weekend...I suck
|
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
We could of had Kendall Hunter Evan Royster Jerrell Powe and we trade up for his slow ass? He's a less powerful torain
|
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
This guy better have 400/20 vision.
|
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
Huh... didn't see that one coming. Anyone have some info on him?
|
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
A RB. Definitely need one. Good selection!

Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
lol....This has nothing to do with ECU vs VT. You should have ECU's number. Better recruits and more money to pay them with.
However, that wasn't my argument. In fact, the first person I compared Tyrod with was Pat White (not from ECU). If you can't get it that those types of QBs (who excel in college) are not NFL QBs, then chances are you are a homer. Nothing wrong with it, but it's a bit deluded hearing guys "HEY LETS PICK MY FAVORITE PLAYER BECAUSE HE PLAYS AT MY SCHOOL". Pat White (WV) > Dominique Davis (ECU) > Tyrod Taylor (VT) All great college QBs, but not NFL QBs. Get over it.
He is not my favorite player, and VT is not my favorite school. I went to a small D3 school. I guess I could say VT is my fav D1 school. I just like his leadership ability. He is clutch in the 4th quarter and is mobile. I have never said I thought he would be a starter or great. I think he is a project at best. But I think he could fit in with his athletic ability. Plus I like the fact that if he doesn't pan out as a QB he could move to another position, unlike most mid to late round QB picks that don't pan out. At least it gives him upside. |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
we gave 127 144 152
got houstons 4th, and houstons 6th. |
Huh... didn't see that one coming. Anyone have some info on him?
He's fast....but not an SEC player ergo no SEC speed. |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
No. 105: Redskins select: Roy Helu, RB, Nebraska Grade
Very good selection here because the Redskins had a need at running back. Helu is a tough runner but lacks break away speed. Grade: B |

WE gave up good 5 round picks for another 6th rounder??? God we're stupid, just when we were having a decent draft... |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
McShay disagrees
Excellent top-end speed and can consistently reach the edge and turn the corner as an outside runner. Possesses enough elusiveness to make defenders miss in the open field. However, lacks quick-twitched lateral agility to consistently make defenders miss in the hole. Does a nice job of planting foot in ground and getting vertical when decisive as a runner. Also shows adequate short-area burst to get to and through the hole. Can turn shoulder pads to get skinny and fit through creases. Possesses enough top-end speed to out run pursuit on occasion and manufacture big gain. |

Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
I would have liked to have seen another position filled before RB for a trade up.
|
we gave 127 144 152

Obviously we moved up to #8 but can you break down the swap like that? We had 5th round #13 #15 #21 #24 which did we give up and what did we take back. I know a 6th rounder but which did we give up of the 4 picks in the 5th? |

Sure, it's easy to run against Big XII defense. Lets see him do that in the SEC. -Balanced coverage and analysis news. |

Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
In all seriousness Helu is freaking fast. Great compliment to Torrain's bruising style.
|
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
If there is one thing I trust Shanahan to do, it's draft RBs. If he says Helu is the guy and worth the trade up, I am looking forward to seeing him in preseason.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
Well I don't get it, but we're talking about the guy who picked up on Terell Davis, Portis, Anderson, Bell and Gary in the late rounds... He knows what he's doing.
|
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
Shanny's history scouiting Backs is beyound reproach. I like this kid's speed...something we have been missing in the backfiled since CP lost a step.
|
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
SAWEET. Gave up 3 picks, got back 2. Helu looks fine on film to me.
|
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
MikeJonesWaPo Roy Helu "so excited" to get drafted by the Redskins. Feels zone system fits his style well. Was hoping to play on east coast.
Twitter - 2 minutes ago granthpaulsen Roy Helu is conducting a conf. call with the #Redskins media right now. He's calling everybody sir. Says he's pumped to be on East coast. Twitter - 3 minutes ago |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
4 picks....4 starters (Helu should be a 1-2 punch with Torain). Loving this FO's draft.

I ain't scared of you. Your knife cutting skills are worse then a Big XII Running back. |

So SmootSmack, do you know if the skins aren't high on Jerrell Powe or what?

Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
When it comes to RBs, I trust Shanny's judgement. See: T. Davis, C. Portis, O. Gary, etc in his systems
|

Rich_Campbell Rich Campbell
Redskins traded Nos. 127 (4th rd), 144 (5th) and 152 (5th). The received Nos. 105 (4th) and 178 (6th) |

What are you talking about? I only saw one play in that whole video where he was caught from behind. 90% of the tackles were made from defenders coming in laterally. I like him. He looks like he has good vision and can burst through the line quickly and make people miss at the second level. |

No offense but: This. |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
What im reading Helu:
positives: fast to the edge, cut and go between tackles, fast to the hole, overall decent speed negatives: puts the ball on the ground and poor pass catcher out the backfield In the fourth, not a bad pick. Shanny got a good history wit RBs |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
Well sh!t the Cowboys took our guard!
David Arkin, he'll be good. |
