..............why??? |
Re: James Harrison Rips Goodell in Interview
Any chance Harrison gets fined for his comments when the lockout ends? You can't just allow a player like him to rip his employer at every opportunity and get away with it. And if he doesn't like it, well there's always the UFL.
yes, and it should be the Steelers that do it ....don't wait on the NFL |
Re: James Harrison Rips Goodell in Interview
I also have a theory that Harrison is one of the top candidates of current players that uses HGH and whatever stuff the NFL's weak ass testing program allows half of these clowns to get away with.
Harrison was a nobody who all of a sudden turns into the defensive MVP of the NFL. I don't buy it for on second.
It's probably more than a theory. I'd be willing to be my life on the fact he is a HGH/roid user, which is why I find his comment about Cushing to be hilarious. Remember all those MLB guys dissing steroids, then come to find out that they themselves were on the stuff. Irony to say the least. You are right, a guy doesn't go from being some obscure bench rider to suddenly being the top defensive player without help. |
Re: James Harrison Rips Goodell in Interview
..............why???
Cause he got fined 100 grand over some real questionable hits. I'd be pissed too. Goodell doesn't understand how football is played. Whenever he sees a violent hit he thinks guys should be fined. It's totally ridiculous. Now calling the Goodell a gay slur is just way out of line. If you want to call him a puppet fine cause I think he is one. |

I would guess he will definitely be fined, and possibly suspended. |

He SHOULD be, but can he be legally since these comments were made while being locked out of his employment? Can they enforce rules during a lockout? |
Re: James Harrison Rips Goodell in Interview
The league is his employer. I would think they can do anything they want.

Labor laws apply just as with any other employer, but DO they apply during a lockout? I think it's questionable enough that Harrison could challenge it in court if he wanted to. I'm not defending the lowlife's actions, don't misinterpret it as that. |

No doubt. What's funny is he probably thinks he's some bad ass for this article, but the truth is Men's Journal played him like a fiddle. He's a low IQ dumb thug, and they probably just kept asking questions and he just kept laying it out there for him. Ever hear the phrase "if you keep throwing me softballs I'm gonna keep hitting them out of the park?" I've got to think the author of the article and editor of the magazine were just shaking their heads and laughing at the same time when they were putting this into print. James Harrison, you are a deplorable low life. It's sad you make millions of dollars. |

Apparently the writer of the article is a d-bag as well
“I filled up three notebooks, I don’t know how many hours of digital tape, and I cut so much stuff from this piece,” Solotaroff said. “There is just acres of stuff James said that’s compelling and amusing and riveting. And that wasn’t the only thing he said about Ben.”
You have to fine and suspend Harrison if you are the Pittsburgh Steelers. Sure Rapelisberger is a douche bag, but he's still a teammate. (as well as Mendenhall)
Regarding what may have been the most violent of Harrison’s hits last season, the brutal blow to Browns receiver Mohamed Massaquoi, Solotaroff said that if you’re looking for someone to blame, blame Browns quarterback Colt McCoy. “Massaquoi is coming across the middle and only an idiot kid quarterback is going to lead his receiver — lead his receiver! — into a zone knowing that James Harrison is lurking back there,” Solotaroff said.
In regards to this statement, it seems to be a accurate statement. Steve Young even said as much previously about how QBs were setting up their WRs for big hits with how poorly they threw the ball. |

Re: James Harrison Rips Goodell in Interview
James Harrison will be fined because the magazine will still be on newstands when the lockout ends.

First, I guess the phrase "you should know better" applies to 33 year old men as well as 5 years old. Second, Im willing to bet someone from the Steelers organization got a message to him. Third, I bet Goodell comes down with a large 6-figure fine. Cant help but think, this is one of the top defensive players in the entire league over the last couple of years, great player...and this is how he represents the players and the entire league? |

LOL. Does anyone really think he typed up that response? That's got lawyer/agent/PR fingerprints all over it. Notice that as far as Goodell is concerned, all Harrison did was apologize if he offended anyone with the anti-gay slur. He still wouldn't piss on the man if he was on fire. Haha. |
Re: James Harrison Rips Goodell in Interview
Upon hearing of his comments on Goodell, Harrison's tax guy added a zero to the already.....weighty "fine allotment pool" for the upcoming season.......

Go get that d-bag dancing WR on my team, he's driving blazed. All I did was talk wit' the same fire I bring to the field. Don't come after me for that or you'll be sorry too. --James" |

Ha, but lately, this is just behaving like a Steeler. Art Rooney would be enraged to see how his franchise behaves these days. |

Now that would be a statement I could believe... |

I'd be shocked if Harrison is capable of typing, or reading, or writing...
