Correction: The humidity at 7:00 for BWI was 80% and at Dulles 90%

It's like swimming in boiling water.

Heat index of 95 already this morning when I walked out of the house at 7:45. Steamy is an understatement.

At the moment, technically, I think we are being subjected to Global Broiling.

Due 08/15!

Gotta feel bad for the mothers.

We had a 2-hour power outage last night (8-10pm) because too many people cranked their ACs up.

Today's heat index for this part of PA will be 115.

Just heard D.C. is going to be 117 today!

Just had to listen to some crazy lady say "she's convinced that Al Gore is right and people thought it was a good idea to cut down all of the rain forests".

 It's July! We complain about the heat EVERY summer and then the snow in the winter...but have very short memories.

At 8:00 pm last night some friends came over and we played corn hole. Even after 8 it was still hot as hell and I was still sweating at 10:00. One of my buddies was working in the hull of a ship and he said he drank 2 gallons of water and still did not pee until he got home.

I've always loved being from DC, and a big part of that is you really get the best (or worst depending on how you look at it) of all four seasons. It's amazing to think- I've seen plenty of days in the winter where we have single digit temperatures. I even remember a few occasions where it was below zero. And today the heat index is 117. Amazing that from winter to summer we have triple digit variances.

It's so freaking gross outside right now.

I was just thinking that! I was like wasn't I just shoveling a ton of snow a few months ago. It is indeed crazy!

Back in the early 80's we went to the beach on Sunday in shorts and missed school on Monday due to snow. That was crazy. We left the beach around 4pm and when we got home around 4:45 the temp had gone from 70 to the low 40's.

Re: Stifling States of America: Heat Wave!

We went to the beach Saturday and it really was not that bad but we sat right at the waters edge and had 2 umbrellas. What was strang was with the South West wind blowing the past several days the water temp was only 58 degrees. So you could sit on the beach and have a heat stroke and jump in the water and die from hyperthermia.

I survived. Luckly the campground was heavily wooded which helped and we ran 5 floor fans in our camping area. It was upper 90s, but at night really cooled off while we were on the lake catfish fishing from 7-midnight. Pasted the time playing the afformentioned cornhole game which i prefer to call corn toss and relaxing in the water. Suprisingly the campground was 2/3rds full, but most had ac rvs. Basil Hayden and Loose Cannon IPA helped me through. Of course it wouldnt been a trip if I was threaten by a Park Ranger with a $250 fine for drinking a State Park.

Or if you don't feel like paying a $250 fine. Use Gatorade if it that makes you feel more like a man.

lol, very true. it was cool, ended up zipping up the bottle coolie and of course ginger and whisky was in a cup. I think they wanted the appearence of alcohol to be limited. Of course its was the approach by the park ranger that rubbed me the wrong way. We never stopped drinking and never got a ticket. Funny to me, i can walk around with a gun in the state park, but not a beer.

So your saying they do not allow drinking in state park camp grounds? Just another Fu%$ing stupid law and another reason not to go camping.

Apparently from what I heard Park Rangers are like little Hitlers going around handing out tickets all the time and just being overall jack asses.

Woo...went to a minor league baseball game last night in Lancaster...until the sun went down it was miserable!

They did a great job trying to keep us cool...an ice cold sprinkler, free cherry slushies, cups of ice cubes and free water.

When guy approached, first thing outta his mouth: "I could give you a $250 fine right now."

First thing I did was roll my f*cking eyes. I mean, if i or any 5 of us was hammered drunk being an a$$holes, I completely understand. But we were chill, cooking lunch and playing corntoss.

They had 7 rangers patroling a fairly small state park with under 100 campers. I understand loading up for the hot weekend just in case, but they had 2 posted at the damn pool that already had 3 lifeguards, laughing and having a good time. Looked at my guys and said that our tax money.

Not really, considering how idiocy and lack of respect for whatever one is using tends to go up when the booze is consumed.

According to the man, if we had rented a cabins (they had like 10 cabins you could rent for a minimum of a week) we could drink inside there and it was prohibited anywhere else. If I wanted to drink inside I woulda stayed home.

I don't understand the restriction at all. If I'm renting a spot and want to consume a few drinks as long as I'm not bothering anyone then who's business is it what I drink? If I was you I would just get up at the crack of dawn and make a bunch of noise like all the other campers seem to do. After all its just camping.

That's part of camping. For guys sit around late drinking and being respectful of other campers late into the night. Mom and dad with 6 yr old wake up at the crack of dawn banging pots and pans around as they yell at little jimmy.

You don't see the problem?
