Torrain Helu Royster Draughn Williams You don't want to run your starters into the ground prior to the season starting. I'm not so sure the Shanahans are confident in Torain and/or Williams as they are with Beck and Grossman (and that's not saying much). But, I see your point even with camp bodies Chad Simpson, Shawnbrey McNeal, James Davs, and Andre Brown, |

Will Hill, Shaun Draughn... for a second there I thought the skins were only signing players whose first and last names rhyme.

Re: 2011 UDFA Tracker
GTripp, how in the world do you find the time to analyze all things NFL and college football like you do? It's like you're a walking encyclopedia of NFL and college football knowledge.
I don't know. I miss a LOT during the college football season that I tend to go back and catch up on during the Feb/March/April pre-draft downtime. I tend to be very reserved and make heavily qualified statements about college football players during bowl season. Unlike draft analysts, I don't spend 365 days a year looking at college talent. I try to do what those guys do in a year in just 80 days. The NFL, though, has always been a 50 week deal for me.
If I can learn names during the college season and go back and study the players later, it makes my life a lot easier. |

There's been plenty, just nothing super relevant to us

Re: 2011 UDFA Tracker
I would expect we will start hearing about draft pick signings any time now. That should take up today and tomorrow(with a few trades thrown in), then Thursday come the full waivers and rumors, then Friday evening the deals start flying. Oh and Training camp starts on Thursday also - anyone have any idea how close to the 90 we are.
|
Re: 2011 UDFA Tracker
i would think that we are nowhere near the 90, but i may be wrong......
|
Re: 2011 UDFA Tracker
I hope we start a new Thread everyday.

Re: 2011 UDFA Tracker
Well if we kept our 53, + 12 rookies, + 8 practice squad + 5(?) UDFA that would put us at 78 camp bodies. I can't remember if we cut anyone after the season so that number has a +/- factor to it. Add in several FA signings, and we will be over the old 80 number.

For what it's worth, I thought I'd check Ben Chappell against the 26-27-60 rule.

No legit player wants to play for a team that doesn't have their shit together unless, of course they're overhyped and overpaid. |

Redskins’ Willie Smith doesn’t mind quitting day job for football By Shemar Woods With plenty of time on his hands during the NFL labor dispute, rookie offensive lineman Willie Smith sold knives to support himself financially. Smith sold more than $20,000 worth of CUTCO Cutlery, becoming the company’s top seller in June and July.
$20 grand in sales for CUTCO? How the hell do you pull that off? Ohio State should take note, you want to pay players, this is the way to do it. |
