Yeah -- Colin Cowherd -- big time hater . . . 2-14 this year. Ha! Says he "doesn't like the culture" here. Presumably because we try to 'buy championships and break the bank with free agent stars. At the same time, he can't believe we didn't go out and find a QB. You just can't win with this guy... |
Re: Redskins Hatters In The Media
plenty of reasons fans could hate on DS. recently it seems DS has done the right thing. Honestly, i dont see any DS hate in the threads lately, not near what it used to be.
i hate the guy, downright hate him. big deal. thats my opinion. yours, mine . .doesnt really matter and since hes stepped out theres no real reason to bring him up unless its to analogizes to years previous. I dont think any fans opinion of DS is right or wrong. plenty of reasons for both sides. |

I can't argue with that really. And I am just going by the 15 minutes of pure hate coming from B Mitch that made me want to turn of the "radio." Its been almost 7 years since I lived in VA and I will agree the Junkies were jerks then too, but my radio was on them stuck in rush hour because it was less painful than what else was on in there time spot. Now I live in a town with one radio station and it is country. Thankfully my commute is only 5 minutes. Not many people buying software at 6am so I need something to fill in the void. And thanks for the info on the other two guys! Gonna try and catch their show now if I can. |
I, generally don't have a problem with B. Mitch, he calls it as he sees it and, although critical, usually they are fair criticisms. Haven't heard him this year, though.
At times, however, I do get tired of his "you didn't play, so you don't know nothing" attitude.
It's funny. I never really hear that from him. Used to hear it all the time from Doc Walker |

haha when I left I think they just came back from HFS and took Howard Sterns spot. So I think it was them or Elliot and I can only take his laugh for so long. There was another show I think was fairly new but I cannot remember who it was. 2 dudes and a girl that was ok. But back to your normally scheduled program... |

Re: Redskins Hatters In The Media
I too have noticed a little hypocrisy on the media's part. After years of being the Offseason Champs, this season we made a lot of smart, sensible, financially wise moves to rebuild the core of the football team. We didn't go for flash, we went from hard workers who were going to come in a work their asses off to netter the football team.
But all I hear anyone talking about is 1.) how John Beck might be our quarterback (and I've already expressed how I feel about the media blasting a guy for wanting a job), and 2.) how we resigned Santana Moss, signed Stallworth and traded for Gaffney. There's no mention of how many other guys we signed under age thirty. Despite all reports that Trent has like much improved in camp and is in shape, all I hear is about how much of a question mark he is and how bad he was and how we made no moves to improve our offensive line (wrong), and how we didn't find enough weapons (wrong) and we're still adding 4-3 personnel to our 3-4 defense (wrong) and how we haven't done enough to improve, and why didn't we go out and spend money to get better guys. Spend money, get criticized. Don't spend money, get criticized. Might as well get used to it. |

the media was all love for us for that brief 6-2 run (or something like that) we had with zorns first year.

I don't think it is hate. Or Hatte.
When you suck as long as we have (1992) and your owner (Danny) used to love seeing himself on TV as much as he used to, it is deserved criticism. Not hate. We Redskins fans are quick to laugh at the perennially awful teams like Cleveland, Cincinnati, Detroit (no longer bad), St. Louis (also no longer terrible), etc. Guess what....we are part of that list until we can be a consistent playoff team. You want the shit talk to stop.....start winning. We have been embarrassingly bad at times in the last three years and when Spurrier was here. Add in all the embarrassing Snyderatto moments and it is safe to say we earned the shit talk. Winning cures everything. Plus..who really cares what others have to say about us. Let's take care of our own business and punch some people in the mouth on the field this coming season. HTTR! |

Re: Redskins Hatters In The Media
What have the Redskins done since 2007 on the field that deserves praise? I'm sorry but we need to stop getting defensive over everyone that says anything bad about our team. The ONLY thing recently done by the Skins worthy of praise is how they've placed some emphasis on building in the trenches and through the draft. Going for semi-sexy moves but not the all out big splashes at this point in time.
To me JLC is the only one who deserves to be in this thread because some of the stuff he reports on NFLN just seems flat out false (still likes to refer to Snyder as the primary decision maker in football decisions). Other then that we deserve to get roasted in the media until we turn things around on the field. Trust me if I could somehow convince you or hypnotize you that the Skins were another NFC East team you would be all over how bad they were going to be. |

Re: Redskins Hatters In The Media
wait, was I just offered the chance not to be called an a$$hole?
And yes I have heard them say good things about the Redskins, when deserved, sometimes even when not deserved. I've also heard others say good things about the team such as last year when Mike Greenberg (who really couldn't care less about the Skins) say he thought the Redskins would finish the season strong because they are a tough, hardworking team with a good core group of leaders who won't allow the team to simply quit. Don't confuse a critique with hatred |
Re: Redskins Hatters In The Media
I think there's some middle ground to both arguments. Yes winning will solve a lot. But at the same time, there are definitely those out there that are never happy no matter what. Or in other words they get paid to act that way and say over the top things.

Re: Redskins Hatters In The Media
To me it's like weather reports.
A meterologist could say "Today's high was 42 degrees. Yesterday those numbers could drop as a cold front moves in from the midwest. Those of you on the outskirts of Warpath County may see a few snow flakes during your morning commute, but with temperatures staying just above freezing we're not expecting much more than a dusting on the ground" But most people just hear "Snow!!!" Similarly, a sports media guy could say "The Redskins have removed some of the biggest distractions by trading McNabb and Haynesworth. And with guys like Orakpo and Williams they have the foundation to be good for several years to come. However, they chose once again not to address their QB situation and now have two journeymen 30 year olds battling out for a starting spot. Unless one of them surprises us, I don't see them winning too many games this year" All we hear is "I don't see them winning" |

I can't emphasize this enough. We have been dreadful for a decade (more actually) so we deserve this bad press. I find it funny that many Skins fans are in such denial that we laugh at the Lions, Raiders, and Bengals, but have had one of the worst records over the past years that pretty much puts us in line with them. We are going to continue to get bad press until this organization starts winning. That said, everything I've seen over this past Draft/FA off-season has been nothing but positive. I think some of you guys are looking for the bad press or not liking it because they aren't riding our nuts like they do the Patriots. |
Re: Redskins Hatters In The Media
I think all my teachers hated me back in the day because I used to get a lot of Bs
ESPN's Post-Lockout Grades (Matt Williamson) Washington Redskins Key additions: Barry Cofield, Santana Moss, Josh Wilson, Stephen Bowen, Chris Chester, Jammal Brown (re-signed), Jabar Gaffney, Tim Hightower, Donte' Stallworth, Kellen Clemens Key losses: Albert Haynesworth, Donovan McNabb, Carlos Rogers, Casey Rabach, Maake Kemoeatu, Phillip Daniels, Jeremy Jarmon, Vonnie Holliday Analysis: I said on Twitter that if I were in charge of rebuilding the Redskins, I would have attacked the defense and put a few bandages on the offense -- making that next year's project and allowing coach Mike Shanahan to see what he could get from below-average offensive personnel. That is exactly what Washington did. Rebuilding this team is a huge project, and it couldn't all be done in one offseason. Defensively, a key for the Redskins with the Cofield signing is Anthony Bryant, the big body needed for early downs at nose tackle who was quite impressive to finish the 2010 season. If that progression continues, Cofield can be used in many effective ways. If not, I don't expect him to be able to handle the pounding on the nose, which really isn't what he is equipped for. Bowen is young and was extremely impressive for the Cowboys in limited snaps. Wilson isn't a well-known corner, but he excelled in Baltimore last season. It also can't be overlooked that Washington signed O.J. Atogwe before the lockout began. Atogwe is a terrific complement to LaRon Landry and should allow the Redskins' strong safety to really roam and make even more plays going forward. This secondary is much-improved. Although I commend what Washington did on defense, I still don't fully understand why it needed to add so many new running backs and wide receivers with hopes that just a few of them step up. Outside of bringing back Moss, the wideouts and running backs are a jumbled mess. That situation needs to be sorted out. Grade: B
|

Please don't limit it to just your teachers. I am sure the administrators, nurses, and support personnel hated you too. The janitor probably peed in your locker regularly. It's probably b/c you wore to many Redskins hats and they were all Redskins' haters. See how I circle round and close the loop? I am too clever and almost never hatted. |
Re: Redskins Hatters In The Media
I think we deserved alot of criticism in the past but now I think we are moving in the right direction, and the media just looks at us as the easy target. You need to see the Steve Mariucci comments on the NFL network yesterday good stuff IMO.
