Not to harp on the 9/11 angle but on that day we were all fans of the same team, so I'm sure players on both sides will be equally hyped to go out and do well. 9/11 was bigger than New York vs. Washington.
I think it's overhyped. The players are different an while it's an emotional day, it isn't like it happened last year. If that really gives a team more motivation then they aren't professionals. I don't buy into bulletin board stuff either. |

Wow, these guys can'y catch a break right now. Hope these players get well soon. It is after all, just a game. :( |
Re: Redskins vs. Giants pre-game thread
With all the injuries to the Giants defense it'll be like playing a 2nd team. I really don't see how we lose this game unless our own defense totally blows up and allows Eli to get hot. Not trying to be a homer, but this could be ugly Giant Fans, but you never know! Anyways, my pick.
Redskins 28 Giants 13 Grossman get's many people on the "Eff it, going deep" bandwagon after this game. 18/29 289 3TD/0INT |
Re: Redskins vs. Giants pre-game thread
Injuries are a part of the game. Time for people to step up. Team sport. I hope we rip them a new one regardless

Re: Redskins vs. Giants pre-game thread
What's the news on Landry??
I'm really worried about our secondary... Eli kills us almost every one of the last 6 straight we've lost to the g men.. if our pass rush starts lacking and the secondary has to play a ton of balls I will be praying ... I will be at the game cheering my ass off! Lets go skins!!!! Httr! |

I love doughtys will and hardwork, but hes not laRon. Hes just always a step too late or a step behind or stumbling on the ground. We need LaRon |
Re: Redskins vs. Giants pre-game thread
Skins 23
Giants 17 Once again we have some red zone work to do |

Well, sort of....he sent this tweet Tuesday: “Uuhhh oo it ain’t my fault...blame the genius circus staff for the rush. wouldve been there 2wks ago. Im [sorry] but saga [continues],” The tweet has since been deleted.... Almost sounds like he is blaming the Skins staff for a setback(?) I can't tell as I cannot understand a word the man says. On Saturday, Landry tweeted, “Dont u hate when u absolutely know something 200% and dumb. . . still do the opposite of what u tell them!!! Set backs. . . !!!” The message contained three vulgarities. I personally think that Laron won't be back till week three....I also think Laron is not being very forthcoming about the situation. To me, Laron is kind of a punk. I have always felt that. Things will one day go south with him and the redskins and it will not be pretty. |
Re: Redskins vs. Giants pre-game thread
That's just not good news for us ... our secondary needs to step up or we wont win as many games as we think ...
Have a hunch Brandon Thompson or whoever steps up into a big role for us by week 5 . |

Relax...while Landry likes to lay the wood on people....Doughty is a very smart, hardworking and reliable back up. There is actually not as much of a drop-off as people think. |
Re: Redskins vs. Giants pre-game thread
Considering Landry looked like a likely Defensive MVP last year, there was plenty of drop off.
|
Re: Redskins vs. Giants pre-game thread
Agreed... doughty gets beat everytime he's on the field IMO

That's the problem....he "looks like it." The man is a liability in coverage, he takes poor angles and he makes bone-headed plays on a regular bases. Sure, he's the hardest hitter on the team, but he does not make very good decisions for a safety imho. Watch and try not to hit something! Ouch.... [YT]kKWqYBB7oqo[/YT] |

The role he was in was made for a player like him. By looked, I mean he was actually playing at the level of a defensive MVP. He was great last year and no one can deny that. |

I can deny it because it's true....Landry is kind of overrated. |
Re: Redskins vs. Giants pre-game thread
Was that footage from 2 seasons ago???? Swear it was #5 throwing the ball to d Jack
|
Re: Redskins vs. Giants pre-game thread
Sorry I refuse to make a prediction on this one. The Gmen are hurting, and hurting bad, but how many times have we had the Giants come up hurting and we still end up on the losing end of the stick. If we protect Grossman and attack Eli and get him to screw up on cue, then we win. It is that simple. If our Dbs go down like bitches and for some reason we can't get a good pass rush, we lose. It is all about the line play gentlemen. I think we are in good shape though since we have a trio of young stud Rbs to work out. I think we win, but don't quote me on that. Just too much whack history between us and the Gmen.

How about last year against Philly? Remember that game? [YT]AFuGfv8gbak[/YT] As far as him being boneheaded.... NFL Investigating LaRon Landry Spitting Allegations NEW YORK — The NFL is looking into Eagles center Mike McGlynn's accusation that Redskins safety LaRon Landry spit at him. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Tuesday the league checks for video evidence any time there is a report of a player spitting on another during a game. Last week, the NFL did not fine Ravens fullback Le'Ron McClain after the Dolphins said he spit in the face of Miami linebacker Channing Crowder. After Philadelphia's 59-28 victory at Washington on Monday night, McGlynn said Landry spit at him twice during extra points. Landry denied spitting at McGlynn, saying: "I'm aggressive. I'm not that type of player." |
Re: Redskins vs. Giants pre-game thread
and who exactly didn't get beat against Philly? The whole team sucked in case you didn't realize.
You're telling me to look at youtube footage from two years ago so I can see how bad he was last year... |
Re: Redskins vs. Giants pre-game thread
lol.
Poly pretty much thinks what I do, which is why I slap those "We need to lock up LL now" statements down. I called LL the Redskins version of Roy Williams. He can lay the wood, play the run, but a huge liability in the pass. |

You're telling me to look at youtube footage from two years ago so I can see how bad he was last year...
Why did we look so bad against Philly? Because Laron shot off his big mouth before the game, that's why. It fired the Eagles up and they kicked our asses. One of the worst losses for me ever. Thanks, Mr Landry! Do your smack talk on the field next time. As for the footage being two years old, you're telling my that LL is all better now? I don't buy it. |

So you two are telling me that LaRon Landry is a liability in Hasslett's defense?

If you think the reason we lost that game was because we "fired them up" then you aren't worthy of this conversation. It's obvious you have some sort of pre-determined opinion on him. |

I'll have to agree with this in the fact that we didn't lose because LL fired them up (even though he probably did). We lost because of plays like the very first one, and plays like this: [YT]XFzp3uHua40[/YT] Getting your ass stomped that bad is a collective effort. That said, LL needs to stop writing checks with his mouth that his play can't cash. |

True, as a player though, when that's your game, you are very good, but not great. Great players are smart players. Lavar Arington was like that. Almost identical in the way that they played....headstrong and without good discipline -that happens to guys who are too big for there own britches. I hope LL can pull it together. He could very well one day be a great player. Not a hater, just a guy who calls it like I see it. |

I got a idea, how about we discuss D. Hall.
[YT]VanwPvH5qYU[/YT] :cheeky-sm ps. This was a joke and in no attempt meant to bring up discussion about D. Hall's ability/inability to cover WRs. Thanks in advance. I bet I'm getting evil glares from Matty and SS. |

As for the footage being two years old, you're telling my that LL is all better now? I don't buy it.
Yes, I would tell you that. Last year LL clearly brought a more focused and mature attitude to the table and it showed in his play. He was not perfect but was finally emerging as the impact player that we drafted him to be. Doughty is a solid backup. LL is a Pro Bowl candidate. Big difference. |
