I doubt Tony plays IMO
I disagree. I was high on the kid, but apparently he isn't really close to being able to the take the field as an NFL receiver yet. That's what ESPN980's Chris Russell said anyway. If that's true, he'd probably hurt us.
I don't think that Hankerson will be getting on the field anytime soon either, but I wouldn't take Chris Russell's opinion on this too highly. He also thought the redskins were going to cut Banks, and probably still wants them to because he's just a "specialist". |

It is also understood he made that comment prior to Romo having his MRI or X-Rays or whatever. It has been reported late that Romo had a "collapsed lung" not just a broken rib. "Additional testing on the fractured rib of Tony Romo today revealed that he also has evidence of a pneumothorax -- a condition that is not unusual for an injury such as the one Romo sustained in the game in San Francisco," the Cowboys said in a statement. "Varying degrees of a pneumothorax can heal in differing time frames. The Cowboys medical team will continue to monitor the situation and conduct additional tests as the week progresses." Romo's status for the Week 3 game against the Washington Redskins remains "up in the air," a team source told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora.
NOTE: In the last sentence it says Romo's status is "up in the air". Personally I highly doubt he plays and I can't imagine the League would allow him to play knowing he has such a serious injury and personally I feel it's worse then a concussion. |

Maybe Tony will fly to Europe to receive the stem cell treatment Peyton Manning did :)

They thought they took care of that when they released his GF...uh...LT Flozelle. Apparently Romo leaves his "blindside" open to any Dominant DE or Penetrating LB. |

Come on man..... Everyone knows Tony's most recent injury came from the pounding he received to his blindside from Carlos, a blitzing CORNER BACK! So its not just dominate DE’s and penetrating LB’s, pounding CB's have also proven capable to cause trauma when leveling hits on Tony's blindside. Jeez man, get your facts straight..... |

Re: Player Injury Report Thread
A couple serious things:
To echo SS it sounds like Wilson is in some pain still: Josh Wilson’s status still unknown - The Insider - The Washington Post I had a extremely similar injury when i played football in HS, put my neck down at point of contact and hurt my neck and back. I was out of practice for at least 2 weeks and definitely had trouble doing things on the field because of pain for a solid month or 2. I still have lower back issues from it. Hopefully Phillip can recover faster and is a little tougher then i was.... Also Phillip Buchanon is suspended through 4 games. I believe we have our bye on week 5 so he wont be back until week 6. |

Re: Player Injury Report Thread
There is no way Romo had a collapsed Lung and kept playing. He may have had a small portion of his lung collapse but not the entire lung. The medical staff should have released a percentage to go along with that statement.
My guess would be 5-10%. A injury like that should always be based on percentage. 5-10% compared to 100%......no where close. If it was even close to being serious he would've been in the hospital with a chest tube in place. Typical overblown Cowboy news to hype Romo..... |
Re: Player Injury Report Thread
Found this thread...... it was only 10% and they actually probably overstated that as well. He should be good by Monday but Orakpo and Kerrigan could put him out if he does play.

Re: Player Injury Report Thread
If one of his lungs isn't working I'm sure they could quickly implant a colostomy lung and he could play just fine with some padding.

Guy has played extremely well he first couple games. Big loss, but would be easier to handle if Romo is out. If Romo plays and Wilson is out, expect 4 and 5 wide all day long and limited blitzing by us. It puts us at a huge disadvantage. |
Re: Player Injury Report Thread
Not sure Dallas is going to want to expose Romo too often with spread sets. Plus they have some injuries at WR.

totally forgot about the injuries with the WR. Just heard that Dez is a question mark Monday night. that would be big. |
Re: Player Injury Report Thread
NYG Hixon has a torn ACL. Their injuries really have been brutal.

Maybe Hixon can fake being healthy?

Man, at this pace the Giants may not have enough players to field.

I said Mon. I doubt he plays, but who knows. Dallas would be stupid to play kowing this is always a big game with big hits. Why chance you QB getting it again and having him knocked out for the season when you can let him recoup for a week or two and bring him back wrapped up and healthier. |

Hixon out fo the year again..
O fcourse.. He could be faking the injury. We may have to wait to tell.. |
Re: Player Injury Report Thread
Not sure where to put this since the ATN Week 2 thread got shut down...
Ex-New York Giants LB Bryan Kehl of St. Louis Rams says Perry Fewell teaches faking - ESPN New York I think I love how Deon Grant is vehemently defending his "injury." Because it wasn't completely obvious he was faking. And now he's lost a lot of respect for Bryan Kehl for "lying"? LOL this is getting more funny by the day. And the sad part is the league is never going to do anything about it unless a player openly admits they faked an injury, and that will never happen. |
Re: Player Injury Report Thread
does anyone know what is wrong with Torain? I would have thought they use him in the 4th quarter to close out teams. Hightower has been killing teams in the first half then they start throwing. Why has he not evened played till this point?

I think it is a combination of Torrain having been dinged up all preseason and Helu has been playing so well. |

Torain does not pass block like Hightower nor is he the home run threat that Helu is. |
Re: Player Injury Report Thread
I think Torain is a insurance policy type player right now. If Hightower gets hurt Torain steps in as the every down type back. It feels good having depth
|
Re: Player Injury Report Thread
Apparently Derrick Dockery was playing on a sprained MCL and broken tibia. Not sure what sounds tougher, romo staying in and throwing the ball with a broken rib(s) and a bruised lung or DD staying in a broken tibia and sprained MCL. They may be cowboys but those guys have some passion.
So i guess romo is pretty much certain to start at this point and DD is out. A rookie with a neck injury is going to be starting at left guard while Dock is out. And romo is gonna be in some serious pain with each hit he takes. Fletcher, Orakpo, LL, Hall, Stephen Bowen, Kerrigan, Coefield, Chris Neild and Hasslett must be drooling right now. |
