Re: What to do with Buchannon?
I still don't understand why we kept Stallworth. Trade bait after a few weeks and injuries?
Probably. If we could get a pick for him, I'm sure he'd be shipped out. I think something will be done with him by week 6, I quite easily forgot that Kareem Moore is on the PUP list and if he's healthy by week 6 we'll need a roster spot for him. But with Buchanon coming back from suspension and Kareem Moore potentially coming off the PUP list we're gonna need 2 spots, and right now the most likely candidates to be let go are Sellers and Stallworth. |
Hankerson should be playing. As should Austin. With Armstrong out, the only four pro receivers we have on this team are Moss, Gaffney, Austin, and then Hankerson.
If you gave Brandon Banks all of Stallworth's offensive reps, he'd do the job just as well. Which is to say: not very.
pretty tough on Stallworth! He looked good in preseason, hard to tell from tv what he's done in the games, I think I saw the ball come his way once & it wasn't catchable. Is he just that much slower now? Still, I see him as a logical cut w/PB comin back. |

Dejon Gomes to PS is an option for Moore coming back. I also think Westbrook could be gone. I just don't see Sellers getting cut. Maybe Young will be fully healthy soon & they'll let Sellers go, otherwise I think his versatility will keep his job. |
Re: What to do with Buchannon?
I think it is probably going to be Sellers, given the fact that he has basically disappeared. Does anyone know exactly why?
If not Sellers then it has to be Banks. I had a feeling they may have just kept him for a four week "probation period" until Buchanon was back anyway...produce and you're in, don't and we can't afford to keep you. I can't see them dumping Stallworth before Banks. |

Hankerson didnt look good in preseason and since he has yet to dress on game days im guessing he hasnt look too hot at practice either. Stallworth blew his opportunities with Ari and Stl so i think the next guy is Austin and then Paul. Hopefully Hankerson can help out by the end of season, but im betting we see much bigger contributions from either Austin and/or Paul this year. |
Re: What to do with Buchannon?
PB was probbaly our best cover corner last year. Have to find room for him. It's not like we have Lester Hayes and Mike Haynes starting as our corners. As others have said, Banks only does one thing but it'd be hard to let a game breaker go like Banks.

Re: What to do with Buchannon?
Sellers, Banks, Stallworth, Brandyn Thompson to PS...one of those will happen
|
Re: What to do with Buchannon?
Skins just waived Thompson to make room for PB, but said if Thompson clears waivers he'd on on the PS....per Grant Paulsen.

Just saw it on Twitter... "RickMaese Rick Maese MT @granthpaulsen Rookie CB Brandyn Thompson has been waived to make room for Phillip Buchanon on the 53-man roster." |
Re: What to do with Buchannon?
I would try to trade Stallworth or release him, when Moore comes back someone else is going to get the ax unless an injury occurs.
|
Re: What to do with Buchannon?
Cant believe all the crazy names getting thrown around...Banks???Not likely.
Westbrook is the only guy on the 53 nam roster that should be upgraded at this point....Unless theres a QB out there that we can pick up that doesnt throw 4th quarter interceptions |
Re: What to do with Buchannon?
Westbrook hasn't looked that bad in the limited time he's been on the field. He stepped up and played well when called upon in relief. I doubt he's going anywhere.

He was the one who hit the Cardinals receiver and caused the fumble. |
Re: What to do with Buchannon?
Westbrook seems to be an overachiever, plays well on spec. teams, but even as a 3rd cb, I wouldn't want to see him 1 on 1 a lot.
|
Re: What to do with Buchannon?
I did not think Sellers would be sent packing, still too much to offer in terms of STs and leadership.
|
Re: What to do with Buchannon?
I trust coach's decision to cut Thompson. However, I don't think Banks should have much of a leash going forward.
We have three badass RBs and any one of them would do better on KR than banks. Paul can take over PR. Boom!!! |
