Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
Unbelievable how far this guy's game has deteriorated. Waste of talent. I would say the Eagles or the Titans too. I don't know if Reid would want this guys though.

Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
Well the reason he got cut was because of his attitude. I'm sure the times he didn't start this year was because of that. I was watching the Pats/Giants game and he actually looked okay.
He looked awful. The Giants ran a play right at him and he got pushed out of position, then was seen getting yelled at by the coaches and wasn't seen again. Bottom line is he's just really not a good player. The Pats defense is awful so that says a lot if they've seen enough. |
Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
Eagles or Raiders.
I honestly think he's done. |

Not much of a choice at this point. Still the Eagles are another team that could care less about taking on troublemakers. They have traded for T.O and signed Michael Vick among others. Besides they're desperate for some kind of push up the middle, even if it's a reckless non-team player that only cares about his stats. |
Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
Eagles will probably sign him. They desperately need a disruptive force up the middle. Hopefully a crappier team then us claims him.
Yea the eagles definitely do need a disruptive force .. So who do you think they'll pick up?? |
Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
Fat Albert never realized that his attitude has gotten him into trouble. The Patriots took a chance on him. Didn't risk much. Fat Albert's work ethic got him canned. The Patriots didn't put up with his crap. The book is out on Fat Albert. I'm not sure many teams would take a chance on him screwing up their locker room. That's why TO is still unemployed.

Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
He's got no passion for the game. He's all about the paycheck, he got paid so he's just been coasting ever since.

Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
Even I can't totally believe it. Fat Albert was able to contribute less than a drafted special teamer would. (imo, a 5th round pick averages out to a backup who plays special teams)
In short, we were able to rip off the Patriots. :D |
Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
I heard that his position coach chewed him out for either lack of effort or a blown assignment immediately after Jacobs' TD. That was his final play as a Patriot.
Blowing assignments for the stat sheet has been Haynesworth's motto even in Tennessee. Dude is full of it, and off the field, is a lying scumbag who paralyzed someone AND refused to pay back a loan of millions, among other things. |

After the money he stole, he realizes he doesn't have to work ever again. There's no motivation to get in shape and doesn't want to get hurt. |
Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
Was Haynesworth at least in reasonable shape this season? Or was he more like the 2009 version of himself?
|
Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
It's hard to 'rip off' a team that only gave a fifth rounder, but it sure looks like we won the McNabb and Haynesworth deals.
|

He was suspiciously absent from a good deal of training camp. But with Belichick being so tight on disclosing what's behind the doors, we can only make an educated guess. |

I think this is a bit of a stretch. I'm just glad that the circus is gone and we got something in return for these two huge errors. |
Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
The only thing that surprise me is that a genius like BB actually thought it was a good idea to trade a pick for this worthless piece of garbage. I'm not surprise at all that the Pats decided to pull the plug on this waste of space.

The three special teamers/olinemen or whatever other shots in the dark we draft from these players' respective trades don't need to contribute much to make more contributions than McNabb and Haynesworth. Just enough to beat out a half-season of almost nothing and another few weeks of bad QB play. |
Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
If the Iggles do sign him it will be interesting, if only because they'd catch hell from the philly fans & media for another 'Dream Team' signing.

Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
Some people just never learn:
Haynesworth got into a heated discussion with defensive line coach Pepper Johnson during the third quarter of Sunday's loss to the New York Giants. |

That's great, but it doesn't make up for the $41 million in guarantees and the 2nd rounder that were wasted in these two guys. Unless we get a solid starter out of these three low draft picks, we haven't won anything. Even if that happens, we still have a wasted year where the team could have been rebuilding. |

Those are transactions that need be evaluated own their own terms. I get that you're talking about the whole sum of their contributions. But I'm talking about just the trades itself. It won't take much to win the trades in which we got the low round picks. It'll take more to make up for the total losses. |

I see what you are saying, it's just that I hate that in all this talk the fact that the team committed a big mistake with these guys gets lost. For instance, I hate when fans/analysts/talking heads say: "The benching of McNabb proves that Mike Shanahan was correct". Now this is true, it proves that Mike Shanahan was correct at the end of a wasted season last year. But it also proves that Mike Shanahan was dead wrong when he decided to spend picks on McNabb. |

The man just oozes talent and some of the stuff he shows could do was pretty damn good. That's why even no-nonsense guy like Belichick took a flyer on him (for cheap, but still) instead of passing on him altogether. That's why MS set his price for AH so high(if true) during the offseason where he supposedly could have gotten a 3rd rounder from the Titans for AH, I think. |
Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
NOT SHOCKED... what bothers me is that he made off with a total of around 63 million dollars in 2 seasons w/ us.

But trading for DMac and not trading AH earlier were big losses for us which were not balanced out by later trades. These personnel moves are black marks on the Shanallen resume. |

I love it!!!!!!!!!!! This made me smile after a long day at work.

Do you think Haynesworth will sign on with another club or is the baggage following him around going to cost him his career, a-la Portis and T.O.

Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
I'm loving the fact that this has happened, even Haynesworth acknowledged that this would be his last stop if he messed up. Congrats, it may be your last stop.
If anyone gets him, its Eagles, Lions, or Seattle. |

Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
Haynesworth is a lazy player. He's a huge waste of enormous talent. If he had the right attitude, he would be great. If I were a GM, I wouldn't sign him based on his past actions. It's just a bad sign that he could do the same thing if he signed with my team. Haynesworth is a joke. He's the biggest comic relief joke in pro football.

Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
The reason he got whacked in NE is cause he got into a heated argument with coach Pepper Johnson after the loss to the G-men and the fact that he's a lazy ****!!
The reason he got whacked in NE is cause he got into a heated argument with coach Pepper Johnson after the loss to the G-men and the fact that he's a lazy ****!!
From the Boston Globe:
..against the Giants, after he drew a holding call with 14:10 left in the second quarter, Haynesworth put together three of the worst plays you will see out of an NFL defensive tackle. With 14:01 left, Haynesworth was easily thrown to the ground by Giants guard Chris Snee with one arm. With 13:59 left, Snee easily pancaked Haynesworth when he stopped moving his feet – a cardinal sin for a defensive lineman. And then on third down, Haynesworth was again thrown to the ground after he stopped moving his feet, this time by left guard David Diehl, who other Patriots regularly beat in that game. On Haynesworth’s next snap, he showed a decent rush almost playing the end position. But then on Brandon Jacobs’ 10-yard touchdown run, Haynesworth got too high and was easily shoved out of the gap by Diehl. Haynesworth’s day, after a few choice words, from defensive line coach Pepper Johnson was finished after that. And so was his Patriots’ career. |

Almost. Haynesworth didn't lay there motionless until the play was over. |
Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
Looks like the original thread on Haynesworth where I was debating the sense in trading him got locked at some point. I tried to show up there to eat some crow, so I guess I'll do that here.
Kudos to Shanahan for getting rid of him, I questioned the logic of it but today more than ever it was obvious Shanahan was right. He's changing the culture and in the long run that's a positive. Too bad we're 3-5, while the Pats continue their culture of winning even with Haynesworth in tow. Guess it goes to show QBs like Tom Brady make more of a difference than any other single factor, culture included. But kudos to those on this site who saw Haynesworth as the lost cause that he was. I figured that being a moneygrubbing whore, he'd be motivated to earn one more big contract. Many of you guys saw him as simply being a steaming pile. I'm stupid. You're smart. I was wrong. You were right. You're the best. I'm the worst. You're very good-looking. I'm not attractive. I'm glad Shanahan made the move. Now lets go out and find a QB like Brady so we can keep winning no matter how many cowturds we have in our locker room. |
