Re: Skins @ Dolphins Pregame Thread
I'm like Lotus, I want to watch every play & get pissed if I miss some. Even in 2003, as brutal as that was, I still had to watch. Even bad teams have a few good games that make it fun, e.g. the dallas game in 06 when ST returned the blocked field goal to set up the game winner. Great game, terrible season.
we also have new faces to root for & hopefully see our future, Helu, Hankerson, Hurt, Kerrigan. Maybe we'll add Crompton to that list by years end?! |
Regardless of the score this will be probably one of the most boring games this Sunday. I personally will not be watching unless I have absolutely nothing to do and by absolutely nothing to do that includes picking up every leaf in my yard by hand.
The Skins/Dolphins game will not be "a game for the ages" by any stretch of the imagination, but you do need to check the NFL schedule for this weekend. There are some BAD games on the list: Indy/Jax Denver/KC St. Louis/Cleveland |

You may have gotten a few measly highlights and a paragraph story in the Monday paper. I still remember those dark days so I am grateful to have the access that I have now and I don't want to take that access for granted. And you are right - even in the worst seasons there are a few fun games or at least fun plays in bad games. |

My dad would go on business trips to DC and always bring me back every sports section of the WaPost during the days he was there. I would pour through each one of them. |

IDT Miami plays good anywhere |
Re: Skins @ Dolphins Pregame Thread
Considering we play down to the crappiest teams:
Skins 10 Fins 7 Get ready for another snorer. |
Considering we play down to the crappiest teams:

Re: Skins @ Dolphins Pregame Thread
Optimism abounds in Redskinsland.
|
Re: Skins @ Dolphins Pregame Thread
I'll be optimistic when we finally have a QB again. I am at the point where I would care a whole lot less about wins and losses if they were at least exciting or even enjoyable games. These games suck, I feel horrible for doing it, but more and more I watch the Redzone channel or a top game most of the time the Redskins are on. I flip back and forth, but I can only watch so many three and outs ya know?

they were 6-2 on the road last year, 1-7 at home |
Re: Skins @ Dolphins Pregame Thread
I think I'm picking the fins in my pool, but I do expect the offense to play better for some reason. Miami is on the upswing lately so I feel they'll win more late in the season.

Re: Skins @ Dolphins Pregame Thread
Well...there's NOTHING wrong w/ switching between the Skins and another game or two lol. I keep a close eye on the Saints and def like to see em do well cuz they're fun to watch, seem to have a high character group and I always liked G Williams.
I'll be shocked if we win Sunday...it's almost impossible to conjure up a scenario where we win anytime soon. On the other hand Miami should win some games going forth and give us a better pick in the draft :) Maybe we can get in the top three but I don't know if there's much value there beyond Luck? |
Re: Skins @ Dolphins Pregame Thread
I won' tbe able to see the game, which means that it will probably end up being worth watching. I am going to go way out on a limb and predict that the Skins man up after 4 weeks of crap and play a decent game and that Miami has a let down after scoring more points last week then even they thought they could score in a game.
Skins 26 (3 TDs -- Helu catch; Young catch; Beck sneak), 39 yd FG (squaaks inside the upright, bringing us all bak to being nervous for our FGs), and Kerrigan/Carriker cobine for a sack/safety); is this specific enough? Fins 17 and that will bring us to our 4th win out of the 6 we will get this season (we beat Dallas and the vikes and no one else this year) -- so after all that we have done to imrpove, we won't. |

Not to call them out, but I recall someone on this board saying they were blind. I kind of wonder how they experience game day

But assuming we have a top 5 pick what position of need outside QB is justifiable for a pick that high in the draft. (LT obviously is one but we've got Trent.) I would say a standout stud NT like BJ Raji qualifies but then we're right back to spending high picks on defense. An Eric Berry FS type could also qualify for a top 5 pick...same problem though. |

Wide Receiver...of the really elite variety. But like any draftee at any position, they need to show they got the tools to deserve being drafted that high. |

Usually I'd be against WR in top 10 but if it's Justin Blackmon I'd be stoked that guy is like Calvin Johnson |

Damn, when MattyK doesn't seem to care things are truly dire. I say Mike just plays all the newbies that are worth a damn and get them ready for the 2012 campaign. I know I opened that Let's Dive for a Top Five thread, but there are so many great Qbs coming out we can get one stellar QB getting a top 12 pick, if not 15. A top 5 pick would get us a Kellen Moore though. |

At this point Goat, as long as we pick QB first, any position you mentioned would be a good pick. CB, S, LB, OL, NG. Anything we get in the top 3 r-4 rounds will be a substantial help to us. Personally I would go QB CB OL OL LB. Our defensive backfield sucks too bad to be ignored in the draft. |

Hmm, bold prediction: John Beck gets embarrassed to high heaven and we get Rex back. The we make a comeback and pull out nailbiter of a victory.
Redskins 20 Dolphins 17 |
Re: Skins @ Dolphins Pregame Thread
I think Rex will b back by Dallas week and we finds way to get to 5-5 but then end the year 7-9
