OT in the 2

When you're a 3-4 defense, you always have to look at pass rushers. So Nick Perry or Courtney Upshaw would be an ideal use of the second round pick (though Kendall Wright would be a no-brainer pick over either). Brandon Boykin would be a nice corner/safety hybrid.

I wouldn't rule out Orson Charles or Coby Fleener either. The Redskins don't need a tight end, but after the first round pick, they should be looking at all options to improve the offense between the numbers.

I don't see Upshaw falling to us there.

Ladaruis Green.

Wow....I want this dude, he had a good combine so far.
I know we don't need a TE but hes very tall and could do some things to open up the field in a WR kind of way.

Re: And in the 2nd round, the Redskins select.....

As other have said it depends on what we do with our #1 pick but also what we do in FA. I feel the QB position will need to be addressed in both FA and Draft. Then my next concern is WR. Last year the team went defense, defense, offense, so I'm hoping in this yrs draft its offense, offense, defense. If they have not addressed the WR position in FA then I can see QB, WR, FS. If the team does get a couple of good WR's in FA then I can see QB, FS, OL, .....

Offensive player. We can survive with our current defense. In offense we need all the playmakers we can get our hands on.

I went to my big board and these are the seven players I have listed closest to pick 39:

Lamar Miller, RB, Miami
Joe Adams, WR, Arkansas
Marvin Jones, WR, Cal
Nick Perry, DE/OLB, USC
Mohamed Sanu, WR, Rutgers
Reilly Reiff, OT, Iowa
Stephen Gilmore, CB, South Carolina

It really depends on who drops I mean if you guys draft Riley Reiff and your stuck with a choice of Reuban Randle, Stephan Gilmore or Ryan Tannehille who would you want?

Reiff. We should be banned from taking WRs in the second round;)
Reiff is gonna be gone top 10......
I do think someone will pull the trigger on him in the first round b/c its not a good OT class, but not before a considerable fall.

Reiff plays too upright and has been overrated by internet draftniks.

Kirk Cousins, Michigan State quarterback. Probably the best game manager of the bunch with a very good arm and football smarts from having worked in a pro style system.

0 for 3.

Sorry, I just couldn't help it.

That being said, if somehow we are stuck totally with that pick, I want us to take the best WR prospect available. I think a lot of them will fall and we might be able to get someone with nice upside.

I hope we keep the 2nd rounder and get a freakin' right tackle.

I agree. I don't want any wr's in the 2nd round.

I think we can address RT in FA. I'd like to see what our new front office can do on WR picks in the earlier rounds.
To answer the question of the thread, I'll go with:
Alshon Jeffery, WR, South Carolina

Besides a QB we also need an OT, WR, CB, S, and ILB
Every so called expert says this guy has bust written all over him. Poor work ethic, overweight, can't run.

That's fair enough. If I knew when I wrote that what I now know about him, I would not have written that.
