Re: Yet Another QB Rumors Thread (Volume 9)
With the caveat that I don't think Orakpo is going anywhere this offseason, can you imagine our defense with no Orakpo, no Landry, and no Fletcher? I mean, holy crap, we're not going to stop anybody all year if our second best defensive player is Josh Wilson. The Blache years will look very competent by comparison.

Yea, that would be a bad situation. Although we played the majority of last year without Landry. Losing Fletcher and Orakpo would put us in a world of hurt. |
No doubt they need a QB but it would be difficult to turn away the ton of picks you could pick up by trading the #1 and #2 pick. Especially if Peyton is healthy.........
With all the picks they'd already get (from us?) to go from 1 to 2, I'm sure they'd manage.

Re: Yet Another QB Rumors Thread (Volume 9)
As I understand it, deals with Davis and Fletcher are "very close to completion" as is a decision on Landry

Well, I would assume we'd sign people to replace them. |

Holy smokes. Let the blockbuster deals begin. |
Re: Yet Another QB Rumors Thread (Volume 9)
If we trade Orakpo, do you believe we'll have any interest in Mario Williams? ..Would definitely hate to lose Orakpo man.
|
Re: Yet Another QB Rumors Thread (Volume 9)
I asked Bill Polian about the three way trade involving the Rams, Colts, and Redskins and he said that does not make any sense. Ok so I called in to Sirius. With that said, he really did not understand the question when he answered(After I asked, they hung up on me). His comment was so the Redkins want Luck. it dosn't register with me. The way I see it is that would have to mean that Colts want RG3.

Well Mario Williams is a free agent... Anyhow, nothing new to report. Hearing some absolutely ridiculous rumors though. |

Re: Yet Another QB Rumors Thread (Volume 9)
IF the Redskins do trade up for RG3, (Not Luck, but RG3,) it would admittedly go against much of what I've been hearing/concluding through my own sources for the past month. But....I've been wrong before
I really wouldnt be opposed to letting Rob Jackson get a serious shot at starter, he has played well when giving the opportunity. Let him and Markus White fight it out for Starter and Back up. We saw what happened when Perry Riley got an opportunity.
THANK YOU! Jackson is a PERFECT fit for OLB in a 3-4. IMO he can rush the passer every bit as good as Orakpo, if not better. White has the explosiveness to play that position. If we can move Orakpo to get into that 2nd position then by all means do it. |
Re: Yet Another QB Rumors Thread (Volume 9)
All I'll say is that if the Redskins end up trading up to no. 2 in the next two and a half weeks (instead of on draft day when they probably don't have to go up to 2), the ultimate target isn't going to be Griffin.
It's Luck.
How do you figure? Luck is going to get drafted by Indy. It's a lock. |
Re: Yet Another QB Rumors Thread (Volume 9)
If We get Luck that means Indy probably gets RGIII & TW & St. Lou gets #6 & Orakpo, does that sound right SS.

Re: Yet Another QB Rumors Thread (Volume 9)
Williams isn't going anywhere

I don't see how Orakpo to St Louis makes any sense. They have Quinn and Long there. |

I understand that this franchise wants a franchise QB. But I don't get the level of angst. There are really only 4 QB 'needy' teams and outside of Miami I don't see how the other teams desire for a QB rivals ours. The way I see it there are 4 teams with different levels of need for a franchise QB. But there are 4 candidates: o Manning who's actually a franchise QB o Flynn, Griffin and Tannehill potential franchise QBs o One of the 3 will end up with Manning o Flynn and Miami seem destined for each other linking the Philbin the teacher with Flynn the star pupil o Seattle doesn't seem desparate enough to leap frog to the 2nd spot o Cleveland is very unlikely to trade up to spots I don't see a problem. We sit back and let the draft come to us. I have full faith that come training camp we'll either have a franchise QB (Manning) or a potential franchise QB or both.
-Seahawks are very interested in a certain QB at #12....Osweiller
Wow, that's a surprising rumor. Must come from Osweiller's camp, I can't imagine any team is looking at Osweiller anywhere near 12. |

Hall? |
Re: Yet Another QB Rumors Thread (Volume 9)
Possibly, but I don't see them moving Hall w/o a replacement in hand
Skins met with Osweiler last night, maybe Seattle is thinking of trading down for him? Hearing it's really down to the Redskins or Dolphins. Browns not willing, for now, to move two 1sts |
Re: Yet Another QB Rumors Thread (Volume 9)
Maybe their feelings about RGIII are stronger after the interview with him.

Sounds like they're going to offer Landry something low due to him still not being 100%, but will easily let him walk too. Personally sick of his games and think for the long run it's best to cut ties. |

4-3 d with Long at one DE and Orakpo at the other. I think the feeling is Po is better suited for a 4-3 End. the move would put Quinn at a LB spot or possibly Po at a LB spot. Rams are looking for a QB rushing complement to Long. how did you end up qualifying for the 500? |

As for Flynn...I think it is very up in the air what the NFL really thinks of him. He's a former 7th round pick with 2 game tapes. I would think the consensus on him would be that he could be a starting upgrade for some teams but is not franchise QB material. |

Weeden is Weinke and he did not impress me enough to make him QB 1.

Based on what? I can say RG3 is Akili Smith and Luck is Ryan is Tim Couch. |

This is outstanding, Davis and Fletch are key. The decision on Landry, would it be a franchise tag or actual deal? While asking and commenting on new deals, any word on bringing Carriker back? |

I'm convinced only because he never needs a double team against guys like d ware or jpp of the giants |
