Hard to do quickly when you come on the heels of one Vincent Cerrato. Having to unfix his mess isn't an overnight thang. Give him some time. |

Are we going to use it as motivation? Motivation for what exactly? I'm just saying dumb articles like that are designed to rile up fanbases and score web hits. It's not inciting any meaningful discussion whatsoever. |

But if i was RG3 i would be concerned about 1 thing. How much controll is Kyle Shanahan gonna have? Please Mike dont let your son ruin RG3.
Did Kyle Shanahan ruin Matt Schaub? People are acting like we're trying to ruin a combo wildcat/option scheme. If Kyle S. fails with RG3, then we can talk about him not being a good coordinator. So far he's failed with McNabb (which was probably because McNabb's refusal to adjust, not to mention being on the downside of his career and all). The Eagles knew what they were doing when they got rid of him. He's failed with Grossman. Which I don't think was their first choice at qb last offseason, it's just the choice they decided was best. They were probably hoping he could be a bridge until they get their long term qb, and he wasn't as good as we hoped. He's failed with Beck. LOL. I think he only turned to Beck because Grossman had a horrible game and he sensed the season was going nowhere. All three of those guys, while he was obviously hoping to get the best out of them, were never long term solutions. RG3 is, and if he fails with RG3, then start calling for his head. But if RG3 is exactly the qb he needs, and starts lighting it up in Kyle's system, you guys are gonna have some crow to eat. |

Re: RG III Should Scramble Away From D.C.
To answer your question 37.5.
I was putting the over at 3.0 myself. In a quick summary of what was said: -Coined Cap-ocalypse, but pointed at the NFL police, not neccessarily the B&G. But did say the Cap problem did not bode well for RGIII's career. I myself see it more of a problem with the NFL Commish and the money police. -Likes Garcon but later said the best QBs need decent running games, O-Lines, WR's & Defenses to have a chance. {I thought Garcon was a WR!} -Stated you have to have the right people in place to get the right people. I guess she got the last point right as well. It takes the right people to get the right people (RGIII). -And she stated that Washington would be Superman's Kryptonite. (Superman=RGIII) I certainly don't believe RGIII is in fact Superman! No one does. I don't consider her a B&G hater, more of a RGIII groupie. Albiet a much, much, much older groupie! The first area I'm particularly concerned with is the OL depth, which apparently she does not realize may be fixed in Free Agency. The other area is possibly the Defense, but we have Kerrigan, Po, and an unknown in Jenkins. Today's news of a FA Safety signing bodes well. Lastly, I thought we had it pretty well with Hightower, Helu and a cast of thousands last year. Better than the previous year. |

Do you want to know how you breed a whorse? I'll give you a hint, they're made in Mexico. Because in America how they breed them is illegal. ;) And that's your whorse related fun fact of the day! |

Re: RG III Should Scramble Away From D.C.
What a stupid piece. RGIII should scramble away from us, but we have no idea how this would happen. Would he hold out to be a Brown? Would they give us 5 Picks?
Also this nugget: "The best quarterbacks need decent running games, offensive lines, wide receivers and defenses to have a chance. This is obvious. What is not so obvious is you have to have the right people in place to get the right people in place." Its true this is not a one man game, but if any qb has running game, oline, wrs and defence they are likely to succeed. RGIII has a chance by suiting up. Alll those other pieces would obviously make his chances better, but part of the "right pieces" is the ability as an organization to grow with this young man. And the biggest "no shit" of all is to oint out that the teams that pick qbs at one or two are unlikely to have all of the elements she seems to require, and if they did, they would be too successful to have a shot at a guy like this. This piece is worthless. |
Re: RG III Should Scramble Away From D.C.
I haven't nor do I intend to read this bullshit. But it just goes to show it takes zero football acumen to actually write about the Redskins. Most of what is written about the Redskins continues to be viewed through the lens of the failure of past regimes and rarely from a fresh angle. Sad that what's considered journalism is actually regurgitated pablum that's no longer relevant.

Re: RG III Should Scramble Away From D.C.
Not exactly the best article, as she called Jerry Jones a likeable fellow, and implying Snyder wasn't. I realize she is biased against the Boys most of the time, but why be so thin skinned about the not so rosy analysis? I mean face it, our post Mark Rypien track record blows chunks, no matter who we drafted or acquired, and we still have to build a great O line for RG III to flourish with. On top of that our love fest with RG III is based on only his senior year. I never heard of him as being a real Heisman candidate til halfway through the season. I am not trying to be an apologist for this woman, but why always discount some critical analysis of our team? I mean the running of the franchise for the past 14 years does leave something to be desired. As you know I am from Allen Park, MI, the home of the Lions, and I naturally am surrounded by tons of Lions fans. Everyone is on my case about getting behind a new team, a lot just over the RG III deal. These guys don't have any beef with the Skins, just are solid NFL fans and think we paid too steep of a price for him. Why do we always get a collective man crush on every QB we get? I still love how most guys in here made fun of McNabb as an Eagle, but loved the move to get him(even though they should have asked why did the Eagles let a division rival take him), only to say good riddance at the end. I fell for the Ramsey pick, but had to accept he sucked at the end. RG III can be a great boon for us and actually pan out, just saying I think at this point in time, with regards to our almost two decades of overall ineptness, any criticism is somewhat justified.

I agree that it isn't exactly an original piece or even a good article. I just think it is dumb to dismiss any criticism, etc. Face it, this RG III trade is still a big gamble. He hasn't played one down yet, hasn't taken a NFL snap. Billcik was very impressed with him and said he was a better passer than Cam was last year in the combine, etc, and he is probably a lot smarter as well. I think Robert will do very well for us, it is just a matter of surrounding him with good linemen that can hopefully stay healthy and guys that can actually hang on to the ball. Garcon was a gem of a FA acquisition, and will go a long way in helping both RG III and the other receivers. Still 1 future starter for 4 future probable starters does get me rethinking this at times. |
