This is definitely a surprise, I wonder what made Broncos more appealing to Manning, compared to 49ers? Both have great defense but I believe 49ers have better weapons than Broncos.
Probably how much Denver was willing to offer compared to SF |

It's Eli's fault. |

I assumed money would not matter to Manning, considering how much he had made in last 10 years with Colts and advertisements. Guess I was wrong.. |

As much as I love Tebow, no thanks. |
Re: Peyton Manning Chooses the Broncos
Denver will allow Manning to run the offense his own way. And if they pull off the trade for Mike Wallace that SS spoke of previously, they'll potentially have one of the best WR trios (Wallace, Thomas, Decker) in the league. If McGahee and Moreno stay healthy and Manning gets back on track, Denver went from eeking out a win vs the Steelers and getting slammed by the Patriots in the playoffs to a team that could not only whip everyone in the West, but be the team to beat in the AFC.

I wonder how soon Dallas Clark and Jeff Saturday land in Denver
And I also wonder if Bud Adams will still consider cutting Hasselbeck and saving $5 million. I would hope not |

Broncos are the best team in the AFC that were not fully committed already to a QB and had the room to sign him. |
Re: Peyton Manning Chooses the Broncos
How happy are the Denver wr's??? They're probably doing back flips right now. Thomas has now become everyones fantasy darling for 2012.

Eric Decker might be the better option. He caught 8 TDs with Tebow at the helm. |
Re: Peyton Manning Chooses the Broncos
Miami should pursue Tebow if they don't get Smith. They've made the Wildcat work before, plus, they have nothing else to offer the fans. Might as well make the losing fun to watch.
Plus Florida is home to the religious right...Tebow could have a fanbase similar to Denver. |

True.. both Decker and Thomas are going to be catching a lot of balls. |

 Some of his fans are just football fans, you know. Anyways, back to football talk, I do think Tebow will end up on one of the three Florida teams. They ALL need a QB. |
Re: Peyton Manning Chooses the Broncos
No idea what the **** Peyton is thinking. The 49ers have always been the best team out there for his situation so I think he's making a huge mistake. They have the best defense in the NFL, a good core on offense (moss,davis,crabtree,gore).....and he chooses the Broncos? /facepalm
As for Tebow. Ciao! Adios! The guy simply isn't a good starting NFL QB despite his record. |
Re: Peyton Manning Chooses the Broncos
I'm glad he's finally signed with someone, so I can stop changing it to NFLN only to see a camera shot of him getting into a car that's heading to some practice facility so he can meet with some team.
Also, I second whomever said we made the smart play trading up for our qb early, because otherwise we'd be picking scraps off the table. It feels nice knowing we aren't settling for a retread. |

Re: Peyton Manning Chooses the Broncos
I really don't think this had anything to do with money. Payton was going to pick the team he wanted to play for and the one he thought fit him best. He wants another SB more then he needs more money.

Re: Peyton Manning Chooses the Broncos
We could play Tebow at H-back.

A cheaper Cooley if he can run routes and block marginally well.. but not worth giving anything up for |

Would he be cheaper? Isn't Tebow apart of the final series to draft players that didn't have to abide by the rookie wage scale? He could be expensive. |
I am pulling a warriorzpath and patenting Tebow to the Fins.

5 years 11.25 mil guaranteed... up to 33 which he will never come close to |
Re: Peyton Manning Chooses the Broncos
I think Tebow stays in Denver. This is a way they could keep him as a reserve / project and not have to worry about the crowd chanting his name every time their starting QB throws an interception.
On a separate topic, what does SF do for a QB if Smith signs with Miami? All the decent options are about spoken for. |
Re: Peyton Manning Chooses the Broncos
play the qb they traded up to get
|
So I'm assuming now sf will re sign Smith? Or just go with kaep
|
Re: Peyton Manning Chooses the Broncos
Good for Denver, hope he holds up.

Did I hear 5 years 95 million !! Holy shit

Re: Peyton Manning Chooses the Broncos
On Tebow, Buffalo would seem to be the obvious match. But I'll throw out Green Bay as well as a spread team that just lost it's backup quarterback.
Miami is the one place in the league Tebow could go and start, although QB hungry teams like the Jets and the Bills would be more interesting from a long term perspective. The Tebow-Gabbert straight up trade is an interesting notion, but would rely on those two teams to value those players equally, and I'm just not sure that's realistic. |
Re: Peyton Manning Chooses the Broncos
If I'm Miami I'd give Tebow a hard look. At the very least he's got star power. He sells tickets and jerseys, and the Dolphins desperately that type of boost.
Jacksonville could obviously use a boost in ticket sales as well. |

But im wondering if Gabbert isnt worth more than Tebow on the trading block and if Denver can afford Gabbert as a back up. I like Tebow a lot, but at the end of the day hes a MAJOR distraction. The only guys he could serve back up to are Manning, Brady, Brees, and Rodgers, otherwise hes gonna be a distraction. |

He's an instant draw at the box office, that's just a fact. And he did manage to win some games last year too. |
Re: Peyton Manning Chooses the Broncos
good for peyton, and i'm glad we got rgiii weeks ago (or so it seems) and don't really have to worry about peyton or the craptastic QB market beyond peyton manning.

Re: Peyton Manning Chooses the Broncos
Tebow liked to compare the NFL to the SEC however playing in the AFC West last year was kind of like playing in the ACC. I suppose he could find success in the AFC East where the Patriots are looking like the only real playoff team. AFC South though would probably be a better fit as that division is up for grabs for the first time since the early 2000's.
Jags with their running game and large investments draft wise on the defensive side of the ball would be an ideal fit but the GM wants nothing to do with Tebow. |
