So I take it micro fracture surgery is pretty serious considering Minniefield went from 1-2 round prospect to undrafted? What's the deal with micro fracture surgery? Part of the body? Recovery time? Dirt, help me out so I can relax, I know you're a doctor.
While I am not an M.D., I do know that sometimes you heal completely from microfracture surgery but often you don't heal enough to play again. For many people, it is a career ender. So we'll have to see how Minnifield shakes out. If he is a healing type, we got a steal. |

Lions are stupid. Can't they see that Stafford doesn't need the extra drama of having to compete for his job? They should have picked up someone harmless like Dan Orlovsky. /sarcasm |
Re: UDFA Thread
According to NFL.com the Skins tried to woo Polk as an UFA but he chose Philly over us. I wish they would have just picked him if they liked him. Minnefield is an awesome UFA signing.

Re: UDFA Thread
I am not at all excited about Minnefield, He ran a 4.6 40ytd dash, that will get you beat every time in the NFL.

The 40 yd time was run after surgery , which he is still a few months away from being 100 % ( maybe IR this yr ) . Chase Minnifield slowed by microfracture surgery - CBSSports |
Re: UDFA Thread
I'm happy with the 4th rounds picks. I was hoping Vontaze Burfict would be drafted by the Redskins in the late rounds though.
|
Re: UDFA Thread
I wonder what is philly saying to make players not want to sign with us. Are they simply giving more money or is it something else
|
Re: UDFA Thread
Chris Polk would have been an excellent addition. He signed with Philly over the Skins probably because he felt the Eagles had the better team. Forget him. If he can become a Ryan Grant then all power to him. We don't really need him. We got decent depth at the RB position.

Puleeze! You need to buy a vowel or something. Mike Shanahan would never draft someone like Burfict. He drafts team captains and players who impress him as people during interviews. He does not draft head cases. |
Re: UDFA Thread
You like to hear that Phillip Thomas signed with the Eagles?
I do. First of all, he got beat like a drum by decent receivers. Secondly, after blowing a lot of hot air our way about Sean Taylor, he signed with Philly for $1.98 more money. That seems a bit phoney to me. |
Re: UDFA Thread
Jesus, the one player ever from my home town AND favorite school went to the damn Cowboys. Dammit.

I'm going to throw a random name out here... Talking about Eddie Whitley? I'm disappointed all these VT players I like went to our rivals, David Wilson and Jayron Hosely to the Giants and now Eddie Whitley to the Cowboys. |

That's like saying I was hoping to hire a two strike felon to be a security guard to watch a room filled with cash. We all know what the outcome will be. |

People playing doctor in the presence of real doctors. Wow. Anyway to answer the question about Minnifield he didn't actually have microfacture surgery nor did he have a knee injury to begin with. He has multiple personality disorder and one of the personalities believes he has a knee injury. Textbook case. Sorry Lotus but you failed pretty bad on this one. Stick to your day job. |
Re: UDFA Thread
If you do a search on WR Lance Lewis from ECU... You get a LOT of people saying he could be a draft steal/sleeper.
One sight broke down film comparing his adjustments to balls in the air and great hands to Brandon Lloyd... but he's 6'3 - 209lbs. 2010 - 89 catches - 1,116yds - 14 TDs 2011 - 60 catches - 600yds - 8 TDs (9 games - Missed last 4 with injury) ... Interesting.... I like. |

Re: UDFA Thread
Center Grant Garner was not only Big 12 Lineman of the Year, but also a 2011 Remington Award Finalist...
According to Ok.St. info... 6'3 - 304lbs... In 798 snaps allowed a TOTAL of 2 QB pressures & 1 HALF sack. Also had 42 "knockdown blocks," 7 "domination" blocks, and helped a team avg 171 yds rushing. Another NICE grab... How did he not get drafted? |

Re: UDFA Thread
OT Josh Ogelsby, Wisconsin is massive (6'7'" - 330 with huge arms) was basically the Badgers starting RT from Sophomore year on... but.... had knee injuries in 2009, 2010, and 2011... 6 surgeries!! Supposedly doesn't have great range with his feet, although he has great range with his arms (sounds like hold calls waiting to happen... lol).
He was still 1st Team All-Big Ten in 2011. Seems like a pretty good road grater who has terrible knees... |

Lol, he's obviously kidding. Multiple personality disorder is for psychiatrists and psychologists to deal with, not your typical doctors. |

McNally Hanks Garne Minifield they all have good shots of making the final roster. Marcus Hyde is a guy I saw play when he was in high school. Good player, but its the big leagues now, he'll be the eric mcbride of this years skins squad--cut. |

I've seen Kevin Bolden play a lot. He was an excellent college player but I would be surprised to see him make the final roster. He never struck me as having that NFL "it" factor.
