Re: Morgan Says He Will Play the Z
I love the threat that play brings. The defense has to respect the run, even if we just get average production. That leaves Garcon's cb in a dilemma, if he holds his coverage on a deep route, Griffin could have seriously open field in front of him (and by the sideline! it's ok to step out griffin, it's ok to step out). If the defense keeps a spy on Griffin that's one less defender for the run play. And if Garcon's cb hesitates based on Griffin driving the line, well
Robert Griffin Game Winning TD Pass to Terrance Williams Highlight rg3 [HD] - YouTube Man I LOVE that play, with Griffin driving toward the line, pulling up and launching a perfect pass. I know he takes a hit, but that play is awesome.
It's a beautiful play and great pass. Just one question though -- stop the video at 11 seconds. Nos. 74 & 71 (the left guard and center) are clearly across the line of scrimmage when Griffin launches the pass (if you watch the play develop, it's as if they expected RGIII to run and were getting ready to escort him downfield). Why wasn't a flag thrown for ineligible man downfield? Who's to say the Oklahoma defenders didn't commit to the run b/c they saw these guys cross the line? Just saying ... |

Just saying ...
I see what you are saying and I don't know why it wouldn't be called but I don't think the guard/center pulling impacted the double team on the receiver or the accuracy of Griffins throw. It is something our line will have to be disciplined on though. Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using Tapatalk 2 |
Or the Colts wanted him and he didnt want to go back there
Well, in the NFL it appears a team's level of 'want' is defined but what they're willing to pay.
Therefore if the Colts 'wanted' him more they would have offered him more. |
Reggie Wayne was the Colts #1 WR and they chose to keep him over Garcon
Could Garcon become a #1 WR? I think he can but it remains to be seen
Garcon is capable, especially in a modified west coast offense like the Redskins employ, to become the most productive receiver in the NFL. Although in a totally different offense when he was a Colt, Pierre Garcon did a wonderful job of catching the ball down field and in traffic. He can get open. With his new role as a #1 wideout, look for him to be even more productive. I can actually seeing him doing the same things that Rod Smith did with the Denver Broncos in 1997 and 1998. Garcon has that ability to do just that. |

Just saying ...
Cant watch vid right now but you get 3 yards past the LOS when ineligible... how far were they past it? |

Speaking of WRs, what happened to your boy Dwight Jones? |

Probably realized he was gonna have to work. You know how them UNC football alum do, so used to having things handed to them on the field and under the table when it comes to work they cant handle it. Well thats how Butch Davis recruited, low character guys looking for hand outs. oh well |

He went to the Texans. I would have liked him but wasn't meant to be. |

is that in the rules, or is it kinda like 5 miles over the speed limit, technically illegal, but rarely called? |

Of course there is, but I was hoping we could move past that. |
